So after 5 Seasons, Posh just doesn’t want their store used anymore? How odd.
I thought they used to rent that entire store out all the time and just leave it dressed. Sometimes the actors would go in there when it was cold outside. I might be confused. Maybe they rented it out to someone else.
I’m wanting to say that back in the early seasons they used to hang out in the building that was dressed up as the animal shelter? And maybe in more recent seasons, the place that was dressed up as Any Given Sundae? Buggered if I could give a source for that, so maybe I’m making it up, but I seem to recall pics and tweets of cast hanging out in both of those locations in years past? The shop that’s been used for Mr Gold’s has always been a business, and whenever they needed to use it they just temporarily dressed up the shop front.

It’s so pathetically transparent why they’re suddenly backtracking on deleted scenes being canon.
It’s infuriating, because the fact that they even wrote that scene in the first place, that it stayed in the script through the many edits that a script goes through, that they dedicated time and money to actually shooting it, that means it’s something that matters to the storytellers. But God forbid they upset the special snowflakes they need to pander to these days, so it got cut from the episode. And now they have to change their policy on deleted scenes being canon because GOD FORBID that the special snowflakes are made to accept that Neal is still someone who Emma loves. The showrunners sold out the integrity of the story they originally wanted to tell, and as a result the quality of the show went to crap, so the result is that one subset of the fandom are the only ones still super enthused about the show, so the showrunners have to keep pandering to them, or else they’re screwed.
It’s really quite sad.
I’ve got this horrible feeling that they’re gonna try and parallel KillyPoo with Jasmine, both of them being partners of a Saviour, and the strength they have to have in order to support their true loves through being a Saviour and all that. They’ll use Jasmine to build up KillyPoo’s hero status, and I wanna puke just thinking about it, especially because that gif of Jasmine saying how she’s not a prize to be won is kinda sacred to those of us in the anti-CS camp.
They could explain the Genie’s absence (in flashbacks at least) by referencing how Jafar was hunting for genies, so Aladdin had sent his Genie friend somewhere far away where he’d be safe.
Or even perhaps her uncle? Perhaps the Sultan had another child after Jafar, who felt rigged of his birth right claim to the throne. Though that would put Jafar and Jasmine in a sort of Scar and Simba situation….
You didn’t watch WL, huh? 😉 The Sultan had 2 sons, Jafar and his half brother. Jafar’s mother was a poor woman who died when he was a kid, and on her death bed she told him that his father was the Sultan, so he should go to the palace and he’d be looked after. The Sultan believed the Jafar was his kid, but refused to acknowledge him as his son and treated him like crap. The Sultan had another son, who lived in the palace and was his heir. The Sultan ended up drowning Jafar, and when he believed he was dead, he had his body tossed out with the trash. But Jafar wasn’t dead, and when he was all grown up, and all full of magic, he went back to the palace to confront his father. That’s when he kidnapped the Sultan and killed his half brother. So once Jafar was done, the Sultan and his heir were both gone. (Jafar kept his father locked in a cage until such time as he’d managed to collect the genies in order to change the laws of magic so he could FORCE his father to love him. After which he killed him.)
And I don’t think we were ever told who the new ruler of Agrabah ended up being, but I would assume it would have been a sibling of the former Sultan’s if one existed?
Okay… so….how does Princess Jasmine fit into this? Wouldn’t she need to be Jafar’s sister to still be a princess (which honestly, I wouldn’t put past this show. For non-WL fans, Jafar is the son of the sultan of Agrabah in the once-verse).
Jasmine could be Jafar’s cousin? If Jafar’s father had a brother who took over as Sultan? Can’t remember if they mentioned what happened to Agrabah after Jafar killed his half brother and kidnapped their father?
I like the idea. But man how does that screw up the timeline?
Well, it’s totally screwed already, so. They’d have to have Aladdin and Jasmine frozen in time somewhere if they want them showing up in present day.
Especially if we see Aladdin was one of the victims of Rumple.
I was thinking more along the lines of someone else having made Aladdin a Saviour for whatever reason, and Rumple heard about it, and then included the same concept as a component of his own Dark Curse.
Yes this is also something I’m struggling with because Emma’s the savior due to two things: her parents ultimate TL and Rumple putting a drop of that TL on to the Dark Curse ensuring she’d be the one to break it. So how is Aladdin a Savior of anything?
Maybe they’ll spin it that Aladdin being made a Saviour is how Rumple got the idea for what he did with Emma? (Which would mean this scene with Aladdin and Jafar has to have happened 30+ years ago?)
