The scar is interesting, but I wouldn’t quite jump to Lion King quite yet.
I’m not really fussed on them doing a humanoid take on the Lion King characters, and the clothing would be super random, I just think the whole thing would be a bit bizarre. But FWIW…GIANT LION STATUE.
[adrotate group="5"]Someone saw a photo of what she or he took to be the funeral that people keep mentioning. But the positioning of the characters doesn’t point to Robin. Emma and Henry are standing in front and the others are behind with Regina in the middle. If it were Robin’s funeral, Henry would be standing next to Regina in front. There was also Ruby in this photo which seemed strange.
Those photos were not of the funeral believed to be Robin’s. Those photos with Ruby in a cemetary were from an earlier episode, shot over a month before the big cemetary scene that’s been causing all the uproar.

But now suddenly it’s Liam’s lucky charm instead? Am I mis-remembering, (a possibility, because I don’t go back and re-watch eps these days), or did they totally change the story of the ring?
Nope, this wasn’t one of the rings he killed a person for. He specifically said that the ring belonged to Liam back in “Birth”, so this is consistent.

Well there’s a mental image.
So, he went to visit Zelena when she was taking time out from killing people for a while. He was all, “What’s gotten into you?” And she was all, “Can’t talk, plotting revenge on my wretched sister the Evil Queen who got a whole special, fancy town to rule over where everyone does whatever she wants.” And he was all, “Honey let me tell you about my brother, and let’s bond.” And then he fell for her, and was all, “Come back with me, I’ll make my world look just like your sister’s special, fancy town, so you can have one of your own to rule over as my Queen.” But she was all, “Nope, gotta be my sister’s, gotta take it away from her, gotta stay up here to plot revenge.” And she broke his heart. So she’s his weakness. And his failure. Which is why he doesn’t want anyone to know the story.
This ep felt like it draaaaaaagged on to me. Cruella was probably the one highlight. Actually, Hades was OK too, he’s fun, not as much fun as Cruella, but still fun because Greg Germann is doing a great job.
I thought Hook never drank or gambled until Liam died. Cause it wasn’t part of Good Form.
Yup, Hook being a drunk in thse flashbacks felt like a total retcon of his character.

While I’m glad that Emma was blamed for being selfish. I wish it came from other characters and I don’t feel like it was portrayed as something serious that she needs to learn from, basically it was used as a “clue” that something is wrong with Liam and not as observing some kind of flaw with Emma. By the end of the episode, Emma didn’t learn anything or didn’t grow as a character.
In addition, while I agree that Emma has become selfish, I still think that she is too good for a murdering jerk who still keeps things from his victims. I really don’t get why they need to portray Hook as a martyr, he is not a martyr, he has done horrible despicable things, stop whitewash him. It’s as if they are insecure about what the viewers think about him so they have to shove what a great guy he is down our throat.
Moreover, the excuse of Hook doing all those horrible things because Emma pissed him off is not acceptable. This is yet again a depiction of the battered wife syndrom.

Yes what was the point of that? Really pretty pointless. We know Milah was miserable. We know Milah runs away with Hook. So…what have this random set up?
Because they think the audience are dumb and needed to be slapped in the face with, “HEY GUYZ, REMEMBER HOW THESE TWO KNOW EACH OTHER, THEY HUNG OUT AT THE BAR, AND HAD AN AFFAIR, REMEMBER NOW, HUH, YEAH, GOOD.”
It would have been nice to see more than a few moments of Emma’s, “Uh, yeah, I guess that IS kinda squicky, huh” face. But I’m at least thankful that it was addressed. And that Rumple looked amused because, “This is so messed up, you are GROSS, Miss Swan.” And that Milah looked like she was throwing up in her mouth a little bit when she said it.
She doesn’t know, in the emotional sense, who she is sleeping with.
THIS! Urgh, I hate that they had them make a baby under these circumstances.
