ParticipantI’m one of the few SF fans who seems to think it wouldn’t be so bad; it’d actually be somewhat amusing and interesting! I’m thinking Christopher Gorham’s character could be Emma Swan’s serious, long-term boyfriend from the past year of her life. It would be very interesting. It would somewhat parallel Neal’s relationship with Tamara. Also, it would leave us wondering just who is the best pick for Emma Swan.
Oh the SFer in me finds the idea of him being her fiancee rather intriguing. In 311 they had Emma forced into a situation where she had to leave people she loved, for the sake of Henry still having a parent, and it happened because of the Curse, which parallels nicely with how Neal was forced into a situation where he had to leave someone he loved, for the sake of her finding her parents, and it happened because of the Curse. That’s gonna give Emma a new perspective on what Neal did. So if they wanna give her a surprise fiancee in NYC to really level the SF playing field, and give her even more perspective on the situation that Neal was in with Tamara (ie: would Emma tell Neal about the fiancee when she sees him again or not), then I’d be OK with that.
It’s just that I can already hear the collective groan from the fandom at large if this guy is yet another love interest.

ParticipantI think only we, the audience, will see the WWW at first. I think the storybrooke residents will see a lovely beautiful sweet woman who everyone adores and trusts, like a school teacher. We, however will see her morph, in green smoke, into her wonderfully wicked green awesomeness.
I’m wondering if she might attack them in FTL. There’s that shot in the promo of Snow and Regina on the ground looking up at something. Doesn’t mean they’d all instantly recognise her in SB without the green and the broomstick though.
I hope you’re right, and I hope she draws blood by pricking her thumb.
From Macbeth. “By the pricking of her thumbs. Something wicked this way comes.
That would be a cool Shakespeare shoutout.

ParticipantI think he gotta have some sort of significance, just because he’s a known actor who they’ve worked with before and they hand picked him for this role. They wouldn’t do that if he was a one shot bit part that didn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.

ParticipantI’m not really on board with him being the Wizard for a similar reason I’m not on board with Rumple being the Wizard – if they stick with the traditional story, then the Wizard left Oz right before Dorothy did, and if the moving on of the slippers that Jefferson referred to was Dorothy, then the Wizard left Oz many years pre-Curse. If the Wizard came back to our world at that time, he’d be older by now. Only way he wouldn’t be is if he’d ended up in another world that had time frozen by the Curse.
I mentioned in another thread about how maybe that pic that Keck tweeted of Princess Diana was a hint that Gorham’s character will be Emma’s fiancee. The more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve thought it might be plausible that he’s at least her boyfriend, even if not her fiancee. Hook and Emma shot stuff in a restaurant, which looks like the bit in the promo where he’s saying “Your parents are in danger,” but he’s saying it more calmly, doesn’t sound all desperate to convince her. Gorham was shooting stuff at the restaurant location too, wasn’t he, both inside and outside? So maybe Emma’s remembered earlier that day, (outside the cop station), and knows she has to go back to SB, so she’s meeting him one last time for dinner, (and Hook’s there talking to her before he shows up), to break up with him, hence the goodbye forehead kiss. Perhaps?
I know that the one thing everyone can agree on is that Emma doesn’t need another love interest in the mix. Maybe if we just see the end of the relationship though, it wouldn’t be as bad?

ParticipantPerhaps he’s a candlestick maker and friends with a butcher and a baker?
This must happen! 😆

ParticipantIn the gif set on this page, I’m looking at the scene of Neal touching Emma’s back and thinking that the move is similar to Emma running her hand on Henry’s back at the end of Going Home when Henry told her/teased her that she forgot the cinnamon.
Nice catch! It’s just a small gesture, but it’s something that you only do with someone you feel close with.

ParticipantDont know if this was discussed, but was it confirmed he is Lumiere? And that Lawrence was just a code name? Or are we just speculating or what? I’m a but fuzzy brained today >> like is William Keck confirming he is indeed Lumiere or is he just saying that because of all the speculation?
He’s Lumiere. Not only did the casting call fit the description of Lumiere, (French accent and all), and Keck called him Lumiere, but Adam’s whiteboard tweet also mentioned Lumiere.

ParticipantThat’s a GREAT gifset. I love how she pulls him back in that well scene. It’s a moment where he’s totally the newbie and Emma’s all, “Dude, step back, uber delicate situation, we’ve gotta tread carefully.”
Here is a poem I wrote (with some help from a few awesome swanfire sisters) in honor of their love for a tumbler friend
Swan of fire (1/6/14)
Two lost hearts
Trying to find home
Found each other
In a yellow domeWhere hope springs
And passions burn
Dreams blossom
While Love churnsOne of darkness
One of light
Child of truth
Child of plightFrom their love
A heart is born,
Full of faith
A hero rebornSwan of Fire
No longer roam
Time to soar
To your living homeLOVE that, really well written! 😀
