ParticipantThanks for posting that pic, Ranisha. Too cute! 🙂
What does Hook do? “Well I hope you have a pegasus to sail or else we’ll be relying on the trade winds.”
Neal: “Pan’s shadow is in this coconut, it’ll get us home. So long as your ship can stay together” (metaphor alert)
Hook “so long as your plan doesn’t fail, she will…” (all snarky)
The entire scene was a little contest, again but it played out, IMO, that Neal came off better.
I didn’t mind this, because it was far less subtle than the stuff we’d got previously. And Neal absolutely came out on top.
Speaking of subtle little shippy things in this ep, I’d just like to point out that Emma lit the fuse and Neal loaded the ammo, they are so completely can(n)on!!! 😉

ParticipantI think that ultimately, Tink will have to believe in herself, but it’ll take others giving her props to build up her self confidence enough.
I wonder if the pixie dust really did glow, or if it was a little nudge from Regina, to help put Tink in a more positive mindset? Bit of a, “thanks for having believed in me,” gift?

Participantp.s. for all of you who are wondering who wrot ethe book the answer: Regina. i know it makes on sense but she otld a story this episode so she is my enw author.
Back at the start of S1, Regina didn’t know about Henry’s book until she was told about it, and once she got her hands on it, she read it and was mad that the final pages were missing so she couldn’t see what was at the end, so she can’t be the one who wrote it. I’d been thinking that the book came to SB along with Henry, but that theory has gone up in smoke now. Guess I’m back to thinking it was Blue’s “final preparations”.

ParticipantAnd they even threw in a bit of Granny with the advice too.
Speaking of which, I like that we got a Red shoutout. And speaking of absent actors, I also liked that we had a Sidney voice cameo.
The silly shadow-coconut sail (well we already had a feather one so why not….)
I enjoyed that they shot that thing out of a cannon. It was a bit silly, but it made me chuckle.
Confirmation that Regina would have killed the savior as a baby, if she could have (we debated that a lot and I thought that was the point of her sending the guards but now we know!).
Yes, it was good to have that clarified.
Dislike
Jared’s acting as Pan.
LOL I just got done posting in another thread that I thought he actually did really well in that scene. Though yes, he failed at the eyebrow, but not everyone has the magical eyebrows.
Dr. Whale’s hair. The whole point was they stayed the same for 28 years. It broke my suspension of disbelief a little but even more so was he seemed a bit different too.
He didn’t feel out of character to me, but the hair did bug. And just like Whale’s hair should have been longer, Regina’s should have been shorter, (this has bugged me a bit since we got the promo pics).

ParticipantMagic doesn’t work on the other side of the border remember the conversation Cora and Regina had that Hook overheard while Rumple was in Manhattan.
Yeah, they need him rendered powerless but still able to be questioned, and over the town line is the only way to do that. So they must let him out of the Box on the SB side, then shove him over, (Rumple is holding the cane of pain, so my money is on that being used to force him over the line), and Emma’s there to shoot him down if he tries anything.
I loved seeing Jared play Pan tonight. Can’t wait for Robbie’s take on Henry!
Yeah I gotta hand it to Jared. He did it really well. I know Robbie will knock it out of the park.
Jared gets a fair bit of heat for his acting sometimes, and sometimes I concede that the comments are sorta justified, but he was great in that scene where he was meant to be Pan. I totally bought his portrayal, he totally sounded like a different character.

ParticipantI was worried they were trying to retcon him having had his memories, but I think they were just playing Rumple a bit ambiguously as a means to build up Regina’s frustration to breaking point, where she realised she was really on her own in this, because he didn’t know what she was ranting about.

ParticipantI had quite a few issues with this ep, similar to what others have mentioned. I did love all the parent/child moments, especially the stuff with Neal and Rumple.
How did Pan switch bodies with Henry? Is there an explanation for this or is it just “magic” ??
No proper explanation, but there was mutual eye glowing. Pan was trying to yank Henry’s shadow (which had glowing eyes), then Rumple opened Pandora’s Box, and while he was still holding onto the shadow, Pan’s eyes glowed, then Henry’s eyes glowed, then Pan’s eyes glowed again.

ParticipantI think we have to look at Fate like a magnet. It draws all things into it. For me, it explains a lot.
I’m all about fate having a role. Obviously it wasn’t random chance that of all the babies in the whole country, Henry specifically came to Regina. But I think they could have found a more convincing way to write that.
That adoption agent was a real world person, who just happened to end up as a pawn in the plot that fate had in store, but I can’t explain away his negligence just by saying, “it was fate, so it had to happen that way.” As a real world person who deals with adoptive parents all the time, red flags should have shot up for him when the place Regina came from didn’t even appear to exist. Red flags should have shot up for him when Regina brought the baby back, and then left with him again moments later. But instead this guy was asking no questions and was just happily batting baby Henry around. “Ooops, the Boston family pulled out, but hey, I’ll give him to this lady instead, oh oops, she called to say she’s bringing him back, but those two hipster guys wanted a kid and I know nothing about them, just like I knew nothing about that Regina lady, but hey, I’ll just pass the kid onto them next.” And he was going about this business openly in his office. Maybe if they’d had that character played as being colder, and obviously dealing in something shady I’d have bought it? But he seemed to not be a horrible, cold, unfeeling person, so his actions just baffle me, and a simple, “it’s fate” just isn’t a satisfactory explanation IMO.

Participant“I did cast a Curse that devastated an entire population. I have tortured and murdered. I’ve done some terrible things. I should be overflowing with regret, but…I’m not. Because it got me my son.”
She’s very “end justifies the means,” but her means were about as mean as you can get, and can she really admit to herself and accept how truly horrible many of her actions have been? I think if she could admit and accept that, then she would have some regret.
