Hook had so many secrets to choose from, how to pick just one. I think he chose to reveal this one because he’s aware that he has competition now, so it was now or never to make the big declaration of how the feels about her. He couldn’t have her walk over the chasm and into Neal’s arms without her knowing that he wants to be considered a legit contender. I don’t blame him for having wanted to get that point across, and I liked the way he worded it, saying that Emma had finally made him believe he’d be able to move on from Milah. That’s a pretty powerful statement, that she’s made him feel like he’ll be able to love again after 300 years.
There’s been speculation for ages that Snowing will have another baby before the show ends. It’s a logical move, and given Charming’s predicament, this was the perfect time for Snow to reveal that she wants it right now. I do think Ginny’s pregnant, but it’s probably just a coincidence that it happened at the right time. Unless perhaps, during hiatus, Gosh had talked with Kitswitz about how they wanted to have a baby IRL, so they could figure out how to work around it on the show, and they decided to work it into the show.
The caves were the perfect plot device to force the truth out of Charming.
Emma’s secret was perfect. It’s all the conflicting emotions that SF shippers have been expecting from their reunion. It hurts, but it’s real, and honest, and beautiful.
[adrotate group="5"]What happens if Ariel takes the bracelet off, though? Would she lose her legs? Snow lost her tail when she took it off. We know Ariel keeps wearing it, even when she’s wearing regular clothes, which sorta says to me that she’s gotta keep it on if she wants to keep her legs.
Snow couldn’t take it off herself, but I’m guessing Ariel can put this one on and take it off as needed, considering she’s not gonna be very useful for Regina and Rumple otherwise. She’s gotta be able to change into a human to get there, and into a mermaid to get back, otherwise it’s pointless to send her. So I wonder if this bracelet has slightly different rules to the previous one? Last time it was the price, as though if one became human, another had to become a mermaid, but I dunno that that’s the case with this new deal.
There’s that photo from the beach where Ariel’s holding her arms out in front of her and doing something with the bracelet. I’m now thinking that she’s about to take it off, so she’ll become a mermaid again and can swim back to NL.
My money is on a Darling brother holding the gun. Wasn’t it for the filming of this ep that the red car was in town?

I think the light is the spell that Rumple gave to Belle. It looks like it’s shooting up from the mines, through a manhole in the road, and is forming a dome over the town.
.I was in tears when Emma was talking to Neal. Talk about a heartbreaking scene but DANG, when that cage broke open Neal and Emma’s hug made the tears worse
No hesitation in that hug! NONE. It was immediate.
OMG THE HUG! She’d just been totally honest with him about how conflicted she was and even still, the instant he was able to, he wrapped his arms around her like that. OMG YOU GUYS, JUST, O.M.GGGGGGGGG!
This is turning into a second string Hookriel thread with all us shippers. 😆
Only thing I felt was lacking was the unrequited love theme. I guess we kinda sorta got it with Eric waiting for Ariel who he thought never came, but we know she was there, so it didn’t feel like a legit use of the unrequited theme, which is a big deal in both previous versions of the story, so I’d expected to have seen at least a bit of it in the show too. Maybe if we’d seen him spend more than 2 minutes with her previously, his sadness would have had more of an impact? Typically it takes him longer than 2 minutes to fall in love with her, so I guess the way they did it felt more rushed than what I’d been expecting.
I did like how they twisted it with him believing Ursula had saved him and given him a vision of his future love though, and considering that, of course he fell in love with her instantly, because he believed she was his destiny.
So I guess I’m a bit in two minds over how they did it, but I do hope we get to see more of them so it fleshes out their relationship more, gives it some depth.
The vast majority of viewers of ONCE are not part of fan culture, but simply just watching TV. A and E know this and that is why time and time again Adam has said stuff along the lines of, “we don’t write ships. We write story.” OR “we’re telling the story we want to tell.”

The vast majority of viewers doesn’t pick apart screencaps, or recognise if a particular piece of music was used in a scene, or analyse symbolism of every little thing. SF endgame in a very simplified nutshell is: Princess falls in love – Princess loses her love due to the interference of dark magic – Princess overcomes the dark magic forces and is reunited with her love. It’s standard fairytale where the heroine eventually triumphs and gets her happy ending, and that’s what the vast majority of viewers want from the little fairytale show they like to tune in for each week.
It is silly but it bothers me that there is too much red in Belle’s hair, it makes Ariel’s hair stand out less.
Maybe they’re sisters. Tink is totally a bottle blonde, ya know. 😉 😛
Also, I think Ariel is I’m total awe of our world because she’s never been here. She’s been a human already so that’s nothing, but I think this is the first time she has been in our land and seen technology so advanced and such.

Here’s the thing: despite seeing Hook first and Neal a bit later, Hook never felt like the ONE for Emma in my opinion. Who knows? Maybe Neal’s puppy face won me over, or maybe it’s just the fact that for me, they FIT.
Well, technically, we did see Neal first, because we saw Bae first. 😉 That may well be part of what draws people to SF, even if not on a conscious level. The fact that even before we knew it was a thing, they’d already started telling us about how it was a thing, because we saw Bae being the reason for the Curse, that Emma was destined to break.
The puppy face sure helps though. 😉
The writers might very well end the game with CS just to make the gazillion of CS fans happy.
CSers may be a big, vocal part of the online fandom, but don’t forget that the overall fandom for this show includes millions of people, most of them not online, they’re just casual viewers. I would think that those casual viewing masses are more inclined to want to see a story like SF play itself out and end up as a happy ending, (like you said, it just makes sense). And at the end of the day, that’s the audience that Kitswitz have to cater for, which is why I have faith that they’ll keep telling the story they always planned.

I’ve seen the other parallels to other Emma ships which is what prompted me to make one that ya know, was actually based on a direct parallel within the context of the show and the film. Not merely a freeze frame vague similarity which I could very easily apply to just about anyone on the show. While poking some light hearted fun at those that take sole claim over silly things like this too seriously.
