I need him (this is my hookriel bias talking) to show some character growth in his own right and realize on his own merit to put down the bottle and pull a Jack Sparrow, “It would never have worked out between us, darling”. In a typical lighthearted moment just as Emma had already decided on Neal.
It would be fitting for them to give Hook an exact line of Captain Jack Sparrow’s, and this one could work perfectly.
For me the saddest character development for Hook would be him giving up the sea and that life. He is heavily molded on Jack Sparrow and as that Captain says, “the Black Pearl is freedom.” Thus, Hookriel.
This! Hook isn’t a white picket fence kinda guy, and as a Hooker, I’d be sad to see him turned into one.
[adrotate group="5"]Some event happened such that Pan became immortal but he could still leave NL, making me think think that he never drunk of the fountain of youth. Otherwise, he would’ve been unable to leave NL for the EF.
What I’m thinking is that he can no longer leave, which is why the Shadow goes to collect boys now, instead of Pan going himself and luring them away like he did that one time that we’ve seen. If he drank the water, (at some point after the Pied Piper flashback), that could explain why the Shadow has to go get the boys now. Drinking the water isn’t what made Pan immortal, it just confined him to NL.

What’s Ariel holding? Is that a box? Does it end up in her bag?
Is she doing something magical with that bracelet? Wasn’t she still wearing it later, even when she’s properly dressed?
I’m gonna laugh when they edit out those boards and show us Belle walking on SAND in those heels. 😆
Ah, so many delicious little hints. Maybe we’re reading too much into it, but just maybe we’ll eventually be able to look back on these things and call them foreshadowing. 😉
Pan wouldn’t put Bae up there right next to someone with whom he could likely communicate if it wasn’t going to mess with Bae for some reason. And being reintroduced to Wendy, someone Bae apparently had strong (although possibly brotherly) feelings for in the past, might just mess with the fragile thing he was starting to see again with Emma in SB.
That is a good point, that Pan would totally love to put Neal up there next to someone he knows and would talk to and mess with his head. For that reason, I’m starting to warm more to the idea that it could be Wendy. If it IS her, I think she’s not typically kept in that cage, she’s been taken from wherever she’s usually held, and has been strung up just for this special occasion.
Only thing is, the press release for 306 doesn’t list Freya, which means Neal’s not conversing with Wendy in 306, though we dunno yet how much if at all Neal’s gonna be in the ep. All we know is that Emma, Snow, Charming and Hook are gonna try to save him, which doesn’t necessarily guarantee that we’ll get to see him.
I posted this in another thread just before, but what if SB becomes “The New Neverland”. Would explain how Charming can come back with them, and could also qualify as a new “curse” for SB.

He probably liked the place more when he still had the freedom to leave, so maybe he got dreamshaded and had to drink the water, but he loved it in NL, so that’s cool, he didn’t mind if he was trapped there, but once he actually was trapped there, he grew to resent the place. Pan doesn’t like being told what to do, so being bound to NL in such a definite way is potentially a pet peeve that could have grown into resentment, and maybe now he wants to leave.
Maybe the setup with one of Emma’s parents getting poisoned, (they were the only ones having poison arrows shot at them during that fight) was because Pan knew there were good odds that Hook would use the water to cure Charming, and because they’re not ever gonna want to leave one of Emma’s parents behind, they will have to find a way to make it possible for Charming to leave, which means that then Pan will be able to leave as well.
Crack Theory: Rumple’s father is in the basket next to Neal. Maybe Rumple’s father didn’t abandon his son, maybe he was kidnapped by Pan (for moving on to another son, if Rumple is Pan’s brother) and he kidnapped his own father to get back at him and his younger brother.
Yes!!!! My husband and I were discussing this very theory last night! Wow. How much more twisted would that make Pan? Rumple thinking this entire time his father abandoned him… for over 300 years… wow…
Rumple was the favoured child, Pan got pissed about feeling disowned, and so he arranged for their father to disappear, so little brother would feel just as abandoned as big brother did. This has been my headcanon for a little while now.
Also, it’s interesting that they gave Killian a brother, and sent them to NL, to meet Pan, who only gave Killian half the truth about the cure for the dreamshade, which resulted in his brother dying. I think that was Pan transferring a little of his, “My relationship with my brother FAILED, so I don’t appreciate you Jones brothers being so close, so you must suffer and be torn apart” angst.
–Regina, upset that Snow is still alive, asks Ursula for a favor (because Rumple won’t help her after Skin Deep). Ursula disguises herself as Regina and goes to Ariel with a bargain: if you kill Snow, I’ll make you a human forever to be with your one true love, Eric.
–Ariel won’t do it and Ursula banishes her to NL.
That deal sounds about right to me, though I’m still not quite sure what to make of the ReGursula stuff. Anyway, in Anderson’s version, when the Prince decides to marry someone else, the mermaid’s sisters go to the sea witch and get a dagger. If the mermaid uses that dagger to kill the Prince before sunrise, she’ll return to being a mermaid and live, instead of dying. This could be Once’s twist on that.
Who is Ariel swimming with in the promo? Are we making the assumption it is Snow because they were in the water together right before that? Or could it possibly be Eric?
It’s hard to tell for sure, but I think it’s Snow.
The person underwater has a vest kinda top, with a long sleeve under it, just like Snow. And if you look at the outline of the clothing, the bit that’s just above where the hand is, I think it sorta looks like the rough edge of the fur collar that Snow’s wearing.If vision Belle is the shadow, why has she been helping Rumple and making him feel better, wouldn’t the point be to make Rumple lose hope?
How much has she been strictly helping him though? The way I’ve seen it, she’s been more like a debate partner, presenting the counter arguments, which is keeping him conflicted and confused. He needs to have that other side of the argument voiced, so it’s good that he’s hearing it and considering it from the standpoint of him making the tough choices and ultimately doing the right thing. I’m just saying, that emotional conflict that Rumple’s experiencing due to his conversations with her is throwing him off his game a bit and messing with his head. And that’s the sorta game Pan lives for.
Curious! Really wasn’t expecting them to get out of NL until 311 at the earliest. Unless they were just shooting stuff on the ship which will still be in NL, (remember how the Lost Boys were all on the dock in Steveston that time, and it ended up they were shooting a NL scene on the ship)?
If they ARE back in SB…does that mean that SB is “The New Neverland”?
