ParticipantIf you’re crazy then so am I, because it totally makes sense that a line like that was foreshadowing.

ParticipantMrs Rabbit will be in both present day and flashback, so will Chesh also be in both? I have this image of RQ sending Chesh out to catch a Rabbit for her.

ParticipantJoAnna hasn’t tweeted anything about Vancouver yet, but you’d think if Eric’s gonna be filming, Ariel will be too.

Saw this on tumblr. Odd coincidences!
Was loving that Neil/Neal was a name derived from Barrie’s own life, then I got to the mention of Emma and almost fell outta my chair! Also, another bit of comment that was left on tumblr in regards to this stuff with the names…
I’ve now done more research; J.M. Barrie’s first name was James, his parents were David and Margaret, he married a woman called Mary. This is clearly not coincidence. The writers did some seriously thorough research. I am beyond impressed right now!

All the family names have been carried over into OUAT! Clever Kitswitz are clever. Why I’m writing this up in this thread though, is that I’ve seen people talking about 3.05 as the “anniversary” of Tallahassee and, actually, it is not. Emma and Hook did meet in 2.05, the Doctor, but their dynamic was much more competitive, as he was treated very much just as a threat there, just as all the Princesses (other than Aurora who had sympathy) reacted to him. Now what do I think this means? Well, I think it means that in a weird way, this THING is not hopefully going to play out and into the dynamics of Tallahassee. This is going to be a matter of conscience for Hook, in the past, and in the present, setting up his state of mind for the Ariel episode, which is actually in the same spot as last year’s Tallahassee.
My goggles have one SF lens and one Hookriel lens and they both approve this paragraph. 😉
Shippy spin headcannon time, but I wonder if just like Ruby is the Wolfe and Little Red, if they might be doing something funky to the extent they’re nodding to a movie they don’t have the rights to actually use the characters, such as TPB. So what if they sort of split Wesley into 2 parts, the Man in Black, and the Farm Boy “True First Love”. So Hook is the former, and Neal is the latter. It’s a clunky fit, but so is trying to shoehorn everything onto Hook given well, all the things we’ve seen him do, not to mention some of the things we guess are going to be shown in the next episode. It’s just a crazy idea, as I do not think they have the rights to actually re-imagine the story. Nods however, those they can get away with slipping in here and there.
Makes sense to me. There’s no way they’d be allowed to actually copy the story, but Princess Bride is an absolute classic that they wanna pay homage to nonetheless, so any time they can slip in a reference, they will. I dunno how technical copyright stuff is, but how closely would they be allowed to mirror the story without getting themselves into trouble? Having their version of The Man In Black say that particular line to a Princess and then having her eventually figure out what he’s really saying and return that love would be pretty close to just copying the Princess Bride story, so would they even be legally allowed to do that without risking getting themselves sued?

ParticipantJabbaPillar!! 😆
Also, the screaming head was totally a stand in for Salacious Crumb.

ParticipantMost interesting parts for me was the stuff with Robin. I liked getting an insight into his attitude towards magic, and his morals in general. Makes me even more eager to see how he interacts with Regina whenever they finally meet up.
They NEED to stop using that CGI of doom scene. It’s very distracting
At the end of the first ep, that CGI shot made me cringe, but I figured at least it was brief and a one time thing. Argh!

ParticipantWhen the Knave is telling RH about Mal’s castle, RH saiys “The one thing we never mess with is magic.” Contrast that to his “I love magic” in Lacey and general acceptance of it in 301 and 303 and I think we’re looking at some time before Lacey.
Yep.
Interesting that RQ and Jafar seemingly hadn’t been aware that Will was in WL. That means that when the Rabbit went to get him, it wasn’t something that RQ put him up to, it was his own little personal detour. If RQ has screwed with Rabbit’s love, then it’s probably a bit of payback on his part to bring RQ’s lost love back into the game.
Guess this squashes the theory that RQ is Grace’s mother. Only way that would work now is if she left Jefferson and their daughter to shack up with Will instead, but Anastasia seemed so sweet and hopeful that I can’t really see her having done that. Did anyone else wanna scream at them, “Don’t dooooo eeeeeet!” when they were about to jump through the looking glass?

ParticipantThats sweet don’t get me wrong but when you know you could have to fight someone at a moments notice i don’t think you’d take the sword off.
Obviously. But they made a point of giving her Neal’s old sword, instead of just any old sword. Last season he told Emma he had her back if anything went wrong with Tamara, and now his sword is quite literally on her back. She doesn’t have the swan pendant any more, doesn’t have their Bug, but she has his sword to defend herself as she searches for their son. She’s never been without a talisman to symbolise a connection to him, and that’s why we love seeing her with the sword.

ParticipantIt gives me warm fuzzies whenever I see her with that sword. 🙂

ParticipantAll of this would be easier if we had our preview button back so people could play around before submitting.
OMG YES.
I hit the quote button in the visual mode.
Maybe that’s why it didn’t work for me, because I’m pretty sure mine was in text mode.
