Why else would Ariel be in SB when we know that Adam and Eddy have confirmed Ariel would be in NL? Maybe Ariel was only in NL flashbacks and might just have been stranded in SB during the curse. But I like the idea that she can realm jump the best.
I’d originally been thinking that they weren’t actually physically in the same place, and Belle was just an apparition in NL, but given that Grumpy is on the beach too, maybe it could be the other way around? Ariel doesn’t seem to have a tail. She’s got the purple bra top, but the bottom just looks like a skirt, and it’d look a bit silly if they CGI’d a tail onto her if she’s standing on land. So the legs and fairytale costuming make me think she’s human in NL, which probably rules out traveling between worlds underwater like mermaids can maybe do, without actually needing a portal. And NL is meant to be a hard place to get out of, so I dunno if she could just pop through any old portal either on land or in water.
An apparition sounds a bit crackpot, but it sounds like maybe we’re getting something like that for Rumbelle in 302, and if so, they could do the same thing again, just tweak it so Ariel is appearing in SB instead of Belle appearing in NL.
There have been those theories about the Rumbelle thing maybe being possible through a magic mirror, which could potentially belong to a mermaid. And now there’s Belle, talking to a (former) mermaid.
[adrotate group="5"]Saw a tumblr post with that screencap a bit earlier, where someone suggested it was Greg, because he was wearing a blue shirt when they jumped in the portal. Doesn’t look like a shadow IMO, looks like something actually dangling down. Maybe Greg hits his head when they land in NL and tears up his black jacket to make a bandage? It would make sense for GOAT to be meeting with Felix, to deliver Henry, and then we also see Henry running, and it’s still daylight.
I think your theory about underwater passage ways could prove to be correct, Phee! If so, then I vote for seeing Ariel being Belle’s guide to NL.
It would be a WIN wrapped in FAIL, because I may love my little underwater realm jumping theory, but am not convinced it has anything to do with the Ariel/Belle scene. I’d only get to do half a victory dance. 😛
Hook’s supposed to suggest asking Tink for help at some point, so he may well have some advice that he thinks they should slow down and consider. I can certainly see Emma clashing with Snowing and their strong morals though. It could frustrate Emma to the point where she vents about her parents to Hook, because they don’t understand how she thinks, but he totally does. That could maybe build up to an, “At least your parents are sticking by you to help you out,” type conversation by the time we get to Hook’s centric where we see some of his family history of being abandoned.
No, no tweets from Dylan, but he lives in Vancouver, so he doesn’t have to tweet about traveling there, which makes stalking tricky. 😛
I like your thinking Phee. What does Emma say to him before that though? “What have you done?!” it sounds like to me. But why would he answer with “I’ve outrun many a storm”…? It makes no sense. Unless that line isn’t actually supposed to follow Emma’s question. But it looks like the same scene.
Agreed, it does sound something like “What have you done?” And unless they’ve been super sneaky with the editing, it does seem like Hook’s line follows on immediately, because they seem to overlap a teeny tiny bit. This is just heaping more speculation on top of my previous speculation, so it’s probably totally off base, but the stuff about Triton controlling the seas reminded me of the line at the start of TLM about how he must have been in a good mood that day because the sea was calm. So maybe Hook can say something about Triton being angry, and Emma can be all, “Why, what have you done?” Then he can carry on saying how it seems the storm is chasing them, then a few of Triton’s daughters can pop up to attack them. Perhaps?
Also does it look to anyone else that Emma is definitely saying that ” or get out of the way” line to Regina? It looks like that to me.
I’d say it might be part of her little cooperation speech she’s giving to the whole group, but the lighting looks like it might be different, so can’t say for sure without seeing the HD version. Even if it’s not the same scene, I still think she’ll be saying it to the whole group. When people were giving Adam hell for that line on Twitter, I think he said to someone that “my son” fit the context of the scene, but if she’d been talking directly to Regina, it would have been “our son”.
Re-watching it, I see I buggered up Hook’s quote a bit in my previous post. It’s “I’ve outrun many a storm,” so I now vote for the rest of the line being, “but this storm appears to be chasing us.”
We’d been thinking that the mermaid attack was right after they arrive in NL, but now I’m thinking there’s some time between the two. Maybe that scene with Hook and Emma comes first, and then the boat starts rocking as the storm whips up, and during the storm is the mermaid attack. Could explain Hook having the key in what appears to be 2 different scenes, one with the jacket, one without? Maybe the storm interrupts their first scene when he’s about the talk about the key, and they pick it up again after the storm/mermaids, (Hook doesn’t have his jacket because he’s drying out after the storm)? That would also allow time for Regina to change into her blue jacket that everyone was all upset about being a continuity error because she wasn’t wearing it at the end of 222.
Sidenote: I love the shot of Hook’s hook catching the wheel.
