ParticipantThe visual editor kinda sorta works as a preview. Problem is it only seems to register html code, not bbcode. I now use the “img” button to insert pics, because I know that way it’s guaranteed to show in the visual editor so I can check it’s gonna show up properly before I post. But quotes are still in bbcode, and they don’t show as quotes in the visual editor, so if there’s a post with multiple quotes, you can’t check that it’s formatted correctly.
And I’ve given up trying to get it to show properly if I wanna quote a post that already quotes someone else, (meaning I want my post to have one quote embedded in another, so I can reply to both comments at once), because it tries to do both bbcode and html, and half of it shows up as code in the actual post.
Another thing that was good about having an actual preview page on the old forum was that it showed if more posts had been made while you were writing yours.

ParticipantI don’t think PoM’s theory suggests that Henry would wanna stay in NL forever. I think it’s more of an, “Awesome, I get to be a hero and save the whole of NL, and then PP will let me go home to my family,” type of situation. That’s how I’m imagining it, anyway. Henry’s line of dialogue about his moms coming to get him was said to Tamara. Of course Henry will lash out at GOAT like that. But if, after he says that, PP swoops in to “save” him from the clutches of GOAT, like PoM suggests, then Henry would have no idea that PP was actually the one behind the kidnapping, and he’d have no reason to fear him. Of course, the truth will eventually come out, but I could see Henry buying the lie for at least a little while, because he’s super excited to finally be the hero in his very own adventure, and be the Saviour of a whole world, just like his mother.
Henry could tell PP, (not in a hostile way), that his family will be showing up to look for him at some point. PP can say how adults wouldn’t understand and wouldn’t let Henry do what he has to do. Henry can say that his family is full of heroes, and they’ll totally understand his own, destined, hero quest. PP can play along like he’s conceding the point and agree to not hurt Henry’s family. Then they actually show up, and PP does hurt them, and that’s how Henry finds out he’s been lying.
As for Henry’s friend status, I’m only really counting Pinocchio as his one, real friend, because we know for a fact that they were playing in the park as recently as the events of Lacey. I’d probably add Grace as well, just because the actress was seen around recently, with the kid who plays Pinocchio, so I assume they’re likely gonna be shown as being worried about his whereabouts.

ParticipantAh, the big rock rears its head again. How I wish they’d moved that freaking thing. Last time this debate came up, I Photoshopped this, which shows that the Safe Haven is in the background of Neal’s shot, you can match up all the lumps and bumps perfectly with the shape of the Safe Haven in the screencap with Snow and Emma being taken there.

Also, I doubt SF is going to be portrayed as being just for the kid, anymore than CS would be “despite the kid” but obviously, the shipper threads are full of beautiful explanations of how all of it could work for either ship.
Adam has said on Twitter before, when someone said SwanFire shouldn’t just get back together because they have a kid, that he agrees. So I’m not worried that they’d only make it for that reason.

ParticipantWouldn’t it be sad for Henry if the “friends” he made in Neverland were only pretending to be his friends because they wanted to kill him. When Henry finds out he might withdraw into himself because he thinks nobody really wants to be his friend.
The thought of this makes me so sad, because poor Henry hasn’t had many close friends in his life, and he’s gonna feel like he belongs with the Lost Ones, like this is the fairytale adventure he was destined to be a part of, and how cool is it that he gets to be buddies with PP of all people. Then he’ll get screwed over and PP will try to kill him. I hope they do it for the sake of Henry’s character development, but it’d be sad to see.

ParticipantCorrect, he was in 4. For some reason they don’t list him as having appeared in The Outsider on the Wiki, they just have him listed as “mentioned” and I just counted up the “appears” without thinking about it. But he was definitely in The Outsider.

ParticipantJust went and looked up Smee on the OUAT Wiki. His casting call said “may be recurring” and he ended up appearing in 3 eps.

ParticipantCould call them the JollyRodgerers but that’s still in the same vein as Hookers but a bit more cheerful.
😆 Dunno if “rodger” has the same connotations in North America as it does elsewhere?
If they want a hashtag to promote Hook’s ep, just go with something like #AyeCaptain or #PiratesLife instead of attempting to change the fandom’s name.

ParticipantSaw a post on tumblr just before where someone was wondering if maybe they’re trying to change it for marketing purposes? If they’re gonna keep using hashtags to promote eps, they probably don’t wanna use #Hookers when it comes to promoting Hook’s centric ep, (which they’re probably about the start filming, so that could explain the timing of these tweets).
Good luck getting a new name to catch on now, though. Some people may consider it a tad unsavoury, but Hookers embrace the name, and have been using it for quite a while now.

ParticipantI think Henry’s experience in Neverland may change him. Henry is getting older so I think it would be perfectly ironic if Neverland, the place you don’t grow old, caused Henry to grow up emotionally.
Yes, I hope we see some of that!
Henry’s view of Neverland is slightly skewed by what he has read, something which may work to PP and the Lost Ones’ advantage. I don’t think PP is going to openly admit his plans for Henry but will lull Henry into a false sense of security by pretending to be Henry’s friend. Henry is at an impressionable age where the older Lost boys/ones can have an influence on him. Henry doesn’t really have any friends in Storybrooke so he has never dealt with peer pressure before.
Our world’s knowledge of PP was deliberately skewed just so that Henry wouldn’t automatically be scared of him.
That popped into my head sort of as a joke, but now that I’ve typed it out…maybe it’s not a completely crazy conspiracy theory? We don’t know exactly how all the stories came to our world. PP seems to be a pretty powerful guy, with ties to our world. If he wanted Henry to think of NL and PP as good times, so he can lull him into a false sense of security, then it wouldn’t do any good for Henry to have learned the truth about the place. Therefore the whole world was fed an altered view of it, because PP hadn’t originally pinned down where exactly the kid in the picture would come from, so every kid the world over for the last century or so had to believe the lie.

ParticipantHaving now had some more time to ponder this Eric development, I’ve attempted to look at Ariel and Eric potential storyline without the Hookriel shipper goggles on, though I dunno if it’s ever truly possible to completely remove the shipper goggles, especially when the conclusion of your argument is gonna be, “don’t think our ship is sunk”, but FWIW…
If Ariel and Eric met in the past, I’d guess it most likely happened in FTL, because it’s more likely that Ariel went to FTL, instead of Eric going to NL. From what we’ve seen so far, NL doesn’t seem to be a likely destination for people, unless they’re being taken there by a Shadow, or they need a timeless land in which to plot their revenge, so they’d need to come up with a reason for Eric having gone there. Also, if we assume that Ariel was the mermaid who Regina was talking about, that means that Ariel was most likely in FTL around the events of Skin Deep, which would fit with her nature of wanting to explore other worlds, so again, her going to FTL seems more likely than Eric going to NL.
So if they got together in FTL, Ariel being human and everything, could they be together in present day NL? Possibly, though they’d need to come up with a reason for them having abandoned FTL. If Ariel was originally from NL, why would she suggest to Eric that it would be a super fun place to go live in, if they had to leave FTL for some reason? Because NL doesn’t seem super fun from that we’ve seen.
If only Ariel is in NL in present day, how did that happen? Something had to have happened to split them up. Something caused Ariel to go to Regina for help, (assuming Ariel is who Regina was talking about), and that help resulted in Ariel ending up in NL, which we’re assuming is where she originally came from, because K&H have specifically referred to NL having mermaids.
Why would Ariel want to go back to NL on her own if she was living happily with Eric in FTL?
In the casting call thread, slurpeez suggested that Eric could be in SB, and I agree that if he’s alive in present day, he’s likely to be in SB. They’d still need to explain why they’re not together currently though…some reason why Ariel would leave him in FTL so he was able to be swept up by the Curse, while she was immune to it in NL.
Having Eric in SB, having Ariel go back there and reunite with him, would mean they’d then need to take time out from everyone else in SB, and everything else that’s going on there, in order to show their reunion in a satisfying way. And they could potentially do that. But if they’re not having much focus on SB in the first 11, by the time they do get back to having a focus there, everyone will be wanting to get caught up with the SBers we know, love, and have been missing, and a detour to show Ariel and Eric reuniting would detract from that. That would essentially bring her storyline to a conclusion, so would they go to the trouble of making sure she gets back to SB from NL, just to wrap her up and write her out? She’ll have to have established some sort of close connection with the JR6 if they’re gonna let her hitch a ride back with them.
Of course, we don’t know what they have in mind for Ariel long term, or short term, or how long her term will be, so maybe they would want to just have her in the first 11 and then give her her happy ending with Eric. I think it makes more sense for them to keep her around long term though, just because Ariel’s such a popular character among people who haven’t even seen the show yet, but may start watching mainly for her.
They’ve said they don’t intend to introduce any more major characters in the first 11, apart from those that were announced up to and including CC. So if that was the truth, then Eric can’t be intended as long term, and anyway, the casting call says, “recurring”. If they wanna wrap up Ariel’s story once she gets to SB, then sure, Eric could be in her flashbacks and then seen again in SB and that would qualify him as recurring. Sort of inconvenient that we never got a casting call for Ariel, to see how the role was classified and if she’s also just “recurring”.
Anyway, basically, taking a healthy dose of assumptions and speculation into consideration, along with what little info we do have…I don’t think the casting of a recurring Eric necessarily rules out the possibility of Ariel being single in present day. Even if they were together for a time, and were happy, it’s possible that she lost him, which caused her to take her heartbroken self back to NL, maybe to be near her family, even if she couldn’t be turned back into a mermaid to go live with them. Or maybe that’s why she went to see Regina, not to become human, but to become a mermaid again so she could go back to her family? The only reason I could imagine her doing that, is if she’d permanently lost Eric, (ie: he died).
So I don’t think recurring Eric automatically sinks the Hookriel ship, and I’ll cling to that belief unless and until we get something definite that officially, completely rules out the possibility.
Regardless, I shall continue to sit here and drink some more rum. 😛
