If Whale was working with the home office, FrankenWolf would’ve been a brilliant plot point. His feelings for someone magical (Ruby) would contradict with his feelings about science and the HO’s agenda.
They could still do that even without him being an actual agent for THO. They’d already established him as someone who considered himself to be above magic. Then the werewolf girl saved his life. Urgh, it bums me out to think of where they could have been heading with FrankenWolf. It would have been some great character development for them both. Hopefully they can still show some of that if they can get Meghan back for a couple of eps later in the season, and we can get some juicy conflict within Victor if he’s torn between the side of magic and the side of science.
Because that’s what Belle needs–to be kidnapped again. 😀

[adrotate group="5"]Regina needs to break the cycle of unhealthy relationships but it needs to get to the point where Regina can say “I realise this is unhealthy”. Regina never viewed her relationship with Henry, Graham or Cora as unhealthy, to her that was normal.
She knows that her views on love are twisted. From We Are Both:

That’s what made it so infuriating when Cora showed up and Regina’s redemption attempt went to hell. Regina does know better. She does know that the relationship with her mother is the model she’d been using with Henry, and that it was wrong. She knows that the way she trapped Graham was wrong, and empty, and not actually love.
I think if any one thing that happens in NL is gonna be a wakeup call for her, it’s gonna be seeing the Lost Boys, who have been kept away from their families, and how sad they are because of it. These kids who have been in NL for so long that all their families are dead, and now they never have the chance to go back and be part of a happy family. Seeing those trapped, abused boys, could well make her face up to what Henry has gone through, that he feels that same sadness over his own family being torn apart, due largely to her own actions. This could be how NL forces Regina to really look at who she is. But unlike the Lost Boys, Henry still has a chance at that happy family because his family are still alive. But if he’s gonna have that family, Regina has to wake up and change.

But isn’t a twisted unhealthy relationship all Regina has ever had, no matter with whom? At some point they have to move her past the need for power and control and I think putting her in a fleeting relationship with Felix would just be a sign that they have no intention of developing her ay this point. I know a lot of people, EvilRegal or not, were upset at the way Regina was acting post Cora coming to town. She turned quite psychotic. And after the small strides made in 221 and 222, I think it’s time to push her even harder.
All of this! Earlier tonight I re-watched The Evil Queen and they cannot keep her stuck in that deluded, “I’m not really bad” mindset indefinitely. Lana plays the evil stuff brilliantly, but Regina needs to start actually learning and changing and having it stick. They’ve started that by showing her willing to sacrifice herself so all the people she hates had a chance at surviving, and now she’s going to NL, where we know people will be forced to face who they truly are, and she’s desperate to save her son’s life, (so will be not at all interested in romance of any kind IMO). If Regina doesn’t have a revelation or 20 and start moving in a positive, healthy direction after NL, and just keeps behaving the same way she always has, it’ll be laughable. Her backsliding in S2 can be explained by Cora’s presence, but she doesn’t have that to use as an excuse for her bad behaviour any more. She can’t change completely overnight, maybe she never will change completely, but I really think she’s gonna start moving towards something more positive in S3, starting right from 301, and I may dislike her so much I regularly wanna reach into the screen and slap her, but I also hope she can eventually find some real happiness.
The way I was looking at it, if the situation on the White side is that there’s a King (Sultan) and a Princess, but no actual Queen, then Pawn Alice could get promoted to the position of White Queen temporarily, purely as a means to get into position to free Cyrus from the RQ. I dunno that Alice would want to be tied down permanently, having the position of Queen. Once she’s saved Cyrus, she’d just wanna run off with him exploring and adventuring.
If Cyrus is already the White King who’s been checked, can Alice start out as a Pawn, considering they’re already a couple? There’d have to be a counterpart for the White King, and Alice should be it.
Have been attempting to brush up on the basics of chess so I can think this theory out properly.
Each side has: 1 Queen, 1 King, 2 Rooks, 2 Knights, 2 Bishops, 8 Pawns. We won’t necessarily get a character to fill each and every piece, but those are the positions that do exist.
Aim of the game is checkmate so the opposing side’s King can’t move away because you’re right in front of him.
If the aim of Alice’s game in present day is to get to Cyrus, could that mean that he’s currently the Red King? RQ wanted him, but he wanted to be with Alice, so RQ arranged for him to fall off the cliff so Alice thought he was dead, but he really wasn’t, and instead she’s been holding him prisoner as her King. So the objective of Alice’s game is to get to the checkmate position in front of the Red King, which means she’s found Cyrus?
As far as Bishops go, they’ve implied that QoH taught RQ some stuff, so I could see QoH filling one Bishop role for TeamRed, and Jafar filling the other.
So because we’ve got Jafar on TeamRed, we’re saying TeamWhite is Jasmine’s family. The Sultan is the White King. Maybe we have a Princess for that side, instead of a Queen? Aladdin could be one Knight, Rabbit could be the other? Or could Rabbit be a Bishop? I’m guessing he’s probably pretty wise, plus he guides people. I could see Knave as a Knight beside Aladdin, if Rabbit is a Bishop.

The fact that she captioned the pic getting her hair done as “camera ready”, and she also has crazy hair at the end of the 17 hour day, makes me think that our Tink might look a bit more rough and ready than Disney’s?
So I don’t think the Regina love interest is just Henry entering her life. I think we will see both things, but she may not meet the person who is her love interest. So it does NOT have to be someone in NL. It could be someone she met in the past or it could be someone the audience meets and she meets later.
Yep, especially that last bit. Unless I missed it, I don’t recall having seen a quote from K&H that stated that Regina’s new love interest was gonna be in NL. They’ve said he’ll be introduced early on in the season, and so people assumed that probably meant that he would be in the same world Regina is currently in, but like I said, I don’t recall that ever being stated as a fact. We do know that Robin is being introduced early in the season. I just think they’re gonna establish him in his own right first, before putting him together with Regina, once she’s back in SB.
So it could be RegalCat, ReHo, HookedQueen, whatever it is–something tells me it is not meant to last. It is too early and a love story can stifle the storyline sometimes for a character that needs to serve as the antagonist (look at Rumple!).
But they’ve used terms like, “Maybe there’s a soulmate for her out there, if only she’d let love in.” That makes me think that whoever it is is gonna be her endgame relationship, and it’s gonna build slowly and have ups and downs, as she struggles to change herself for the better.
Jasmine is also the name of a WHITE flower.
Ah, so it is! Hmmm, curious.
She could be Jasmine’s mother still. The Sultan wears white 😛
Just went to check the Disney Wiki to see if there was some mention of her mother at some point in some Disney production, but it says she’s rarely mentioned and is just assumed dead. So K&H could invent whatever story they wanted for her if they plan to include her.
