Ariel is coming Ariel is coming *she chants to herself*
Okay, so I’ve been thinking. The cast is pretty big, even with the non-regulars like Leroy and Granny. Since they’re bringing Ariel on, with the bloated cast and multiple storylines already going on, I don’t think they’re going to add a separate love interest for her. Prince Eric is either done and over with, following the book and the prince marrying someone else, or they’re going to absorb Eric into another character we already have. Hmmm….girls, who could I possibly have in mind? *she ponders with a evil smile*
Or this could just be my own way to rationalize a certain crackship I adore.
All of this!! There’s gotta be a point to them introducing her now. She’s gotta be connected to someone already on the show otherwise she’ll be pointless and random. This promo is the same way they introduced Hook, and he ended up being a major player, connected to already established characters. So I can’t see them going to the trouble of shooting this Ariel teaser if she’s not gonna have some significance as well. And as you say, they won’t want to bloat the cast any more than necessary. Just telling her story on the side with some random prince we’ve never heard of before does not fit with that.
Either that OR he’s playing to what he knows the audience is expecting. Everyone thinks there is going to be a CaptainSwanFire triangle, but I still don’t know see *how* as Emma is going to be too concerned about Henry to get involved with anyone. And if they are planning to reunite everyone by episode 11, then when does the romance happen? I can see Hook and Emma becoming best friends and Neal thinking he has to win Emma back from Hook and then haing lots of awkward encounters.
True! The idea of him actually fighting to get her back is all kinds of romantic. I’m really looking forward to seeing what sort of dynamic these three characters end up having.

Yes, methinks they’re being tricksy! (Ain’t gonna lie, the Hookriel shipper in me gets a kick out of both characters having been revealed in the same way. 😛 )

OK, so, having finally watched the Ariel scene…I’m not sure how much stock to put in that scenario being canon…because it kinda feels similar to that Hook promo they did with him smashing up Rumple’s shop…which totally didn’t happen…it was just their fun and dramatic way to say, “look who’s coming.”
Phee, you’ve got so much headcanon going on that you could have your own show. Why don’t you start writing fanfiction?
LOL Sometimes I wish I could write fanfic, but writing has never been something I’m good at. I remember back in highschool one time we had an assignment to write a short story and I was so lost for what to do…ended up writing out one of the storylines from Days of our Lives and just changing the names. Hopeless!

How can they get me so excited for season 3 with a trailer that shows no season 3 footage. Evil geniuses, I tell ya.
