ParticipantSo, once you’ve been with someone, that’s it for the rest of your life then? And you can never meet someone (of either gender) and find love with them? Emma has been with one man that we know of (although she had an affair with a married person) when she was 17.
I never said someone can’t find love with another person after their first love. As for Emma’s relationship history, in Heart Is A Lonely Hunter she says to MM, “One-nighters is as far as I ever go,” which suggests she’s done her fair share of “dating”.
Regina was never in a consensual intimate relationship until later – Leopold doesn’t count as it was a forced marriage. She would have been required to service him – and of course Daniel but they never consummated it. Their was Graham, but that was, hmmm, to scratch an itch shall we say. Their was no ‘love’ involved. I think it’s a bit much to say either of them is straight or wouldn’t find love with a women.
Well we dunno that Regina and Daniel never went for a roll in the hay and I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. We do know that they were honestly, completely in love though, and he was a guy. I’m in the camp that isn’t convinced that she ever slept with Leopold, because I just don’t think he’d have been interested. I suspect she likely slept with more of her guards than just Graham, it’s just that he was her fave little pet.
Their are people that have lived their whole lives one way, got married, even had children, and then they meet that certain person – and it just clicks. Past relationships don’t lock you in for love. That’s not how life works.
Like I said in another of my posts, I have a friend who was in that position: married, kids, and is now divorced and an out and proud lesbian. So of course I believe that can happen for people. I’ve just seen nothing that IMO suggests that both Emma and Regina are living in denial about their sexual orientation, and I think that both of them suddenly deciding to switch teams would be completely unconvincing and out of character.
I feel some sympathy for the SQ shippers to be honest. If snows kid had been a boy, and they got some pretty faced dude to play him, every man and their dog would probably be shipping it, but two women? Everyone frowns on it all of a sudden.
Again, as I mentioned in another post, it’s not just the sexual orientation that rules it out for me, it’s also the fact that Regina has tried to kill Emma’s mother multiple times. That’s a big reason why many people can’t wrap their heads around there being any SQ potential, it’s because of the actual storyline, not because they’re both women. So no, I don’t believe a majority of fans would ship Regina with Snowing’s kid if they were an attractive guy instead, because that whole, “tried to kill my family a bunch of times and when she couldn’t she cursed them instead which led to my whole life being an epic hot mess” issue would still exist.

ParticipantAs for RH: it’s an interesting theory. But, who is to say that RH didn’t go all “evil” and bad when Marion died and maybe both he and his daughter Tamara joined THO.
Turning RH into one of the evil guys would be a ballsy move. The character is iconic because he’s one of the good guys.
I can’t see a Robin Hood/Regina romance because Robin’s true love is Maid Marian and they have already been established as characters so Regina can’t be Marian in the way that Rumple is the beast.
The Regina/Robin thing is dependant on Marian being dead, and these two being each other’s second shot at love.
One of things that I’d like about it if they used RH as both Tamara’s father and Regina’s future partner is that they’d be able to cover two necessary storylines without having to bring in new characters we haven’t met yet. If there’s one thing the majority of the fandom can generally agree on, it’s the fewer new characters they add into the mix, the better.

ParticipantI don’t think Ausiello was referencing Bae at all. The sentence means that despite Tink’s party girl ways, she has the heart of a true survivor.
Possibly, though in ASOTM we did have:
Hook: You really think you can survive on your own?
Bae: I’ve never been given the choice.
…so if that whole blurb in the casting call was just specifically relating to Tink herself, they’re setting it up for her to have that “survivor” trait that matches Bae’s, so surely they’ll be involved somehow.
NL is…Redemption Island. Maybe Jeff Probst can have a cameo. 😛

ParticipantYou really do like RH/Regina, don’t you, Phee!
Watch on the season premiere Belle walking through Storybrooke and bumping into Robin and Marian strolling hand-in-hand down the street.
Wouldn’t be the first time one of my theories has come spectacularly crashing down! 😆 I don’t even like Regina that much, so Lord knows why I’m all hung up on her love life all of a sudden.

ParticipantIs that suppose to be believes instead of belies?
No, it was meant to be belies, which is why I believe it may refer to Tink betraying Bae’s trust somehow.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Regina knows about NL. In fact, I expect her to.
Snow, not so much.
Snow probably has SB memories of having read about PP and NL, but I imagine that’s all she knows about the place…which it seems isn’t entirely accurate.
Regina is more likely to actually know something about the place, though I’m not sure that she’s actually been there before. I don’t think many people actually go to NL, because people who have enough magical knowledge to know about the place probably also know that once you’re there, you can’t leave.
I do suspect that Regina’s little failsafe gem may have originated in NL though, because its purpose was basically to wipe out everyone except Henry, and PP’s objective was to isolate Henry. Maybe Tink popped over to FTL at some point to give Regina the failsafe, and she took it, not bothering to learn where it came from, (she does love to act on impulse, does our Regina)?
ETA: Holy excess html, Batman. Where did all of that come from?! Have cleared it up now.

ParticipantCan you imagine the furor if Snow White came home one day and told Charming she was tossing him over for Rapunzel? It would be hilarious but it’s not going to happen.
LOL “I’m sorry sweetie, but it turns out I missed long hair a little bit more than I’d thought.”
Seriously though, I get that some people switch teams part way through life. I have a friend who was married, had two kids, then several years later left her husband and came out. She’d known the whole time she was really a lesbian though, she’d just been lying to herself and the world about it because she’d wanted to have kids, so she’d decided she’d needed the husband. Neither Emma or Regina appear to be living in denial about their sexuality though, and for SwanQueen to happen, they would both have to have some orientation related epiphany. And really, how could that be shown in a convincing way?
And that’s not even getting into the whole thing with Emma having to get over the fact that Regina’s tried to kill her mother several times. Could you really trust someone like that to be your romantic partner? I sure as hell couldn’t.
They keep saying that Regina will find love again this season but I can’t help but wonder if it won’t happen until the very end of the season. Her arc this season has GOT to be redemption. She made huge strides in the final episode of S2 and she has to continue down that path and It think it has to be mostly alone or else the dangerous precedant that you need romantic love to be a whole person and truly forgiven is…well dangerous. For sure, it won’t be until after they rescue Henry, right? Same with Emma. No matter who her end game is, it can’t really be expected to happen until after the Henry situation is resolved.
I would imagine so, yes. Though in Emma’s case, I could see CS developing a close bond during the process of actually rescuing Henry. And at whatever point Neal shows up again, there are gonna be all sorts of FEELS flying around. So I could see them doing a slow build through the season regarding Emma’s relationships with them both, without her actually getting full on involved with either one.
In Regina’s case, that’s something else I’ve considered with my RH crackpot theory, (I swear I’ve never thought so much about Regina’s love life as I have in the last few days, and I don’t care that I’m the only one in the universe shipping this LOL). They could show him in present day FTL at the start of the season and give him some more development, then spend the whole season showing Regina finally getting her act together once and for all, and then maybe by the end of the season, the SBers will all end up back in FTL too, at which point Regina and RH would meet for the first time.

ParticipantIt’s good to have confirmation, though I was confident that SB/Steveston wouldn’t be abandoned. As well as Belle there are several other characters still there, and they may not be main cast, but they’re still much loved characters. And I’d be very surprised if more from THO don’t show up there too, (if they gonna explain what THO is all about, they’ll need to show more of it operating in our world). Even if they’ve built some interior sets, there’s no way they could convincingly replicate the SB exteriors without still using Steveston.

ParticipantFor me, the major thing that negates the possibility of EvilFire is the way they treat family. Neal went to great lengths to try and save his father who had been consumed by dark power. Regina killed her innocent father with her own two hands, moments after he’d basically begged for his life. If I were Neal, I just dunno that that’s something I could get past.
Also, Regina’s lust for power is too similar to Rumple’s lust for power. We know how Neal feels about how his father has used magic to cause harm to people. He’d consider Regina to be just as bad and wouldn’t want anything to do with her, especially not in a romantic sense.
I think the only other even remotely viable candidate for Neal other than Emma would be an adult Wendy. K&H have said that one of the things he loved about Emma when they first met was that she reminded him of Wendy.

ParticipantThen the question becomes from where does Tink originally come?
Ah, that’s the frillion dollar question!
Do all fairies come from the same place? If so is it one of the lands we already know of or is it some in between realm? Is Tink the only one in NL, or is there a whole hoard like in FTL?
I do like the idea that Tink and PP are FTL outcasts.
Traditionally though, PP was from London. If Onceiverse PP has the same origin, then how did he end up in NL? How did he meet Tink? Was she involved with him getting there in the first place? If so, who was she working for? Is that person still around? Do they have something to do with the origin of the Shadow? How many more questions can I ponder before my head explodes?

ParticipantI want a homosexual couple on OUAT, I think it’d be great! But I think it should be a different story, and not just in service of the fans who want Regina and Emma together or Regina and *insert another female here.* They’ve played with gender before (Jack) so it could be that Aladdin will be a girl or something along those lines.
Putting SwanQueen together would feel so forced. Neither Regina or Emma have ever given any indication that they’re anything but straight, and changing both of their orientations now would be unbelievable.
When I was posting about Wendy being a mother figure for the Lost Boys before, I thought it’d be kind of a bummer if she was stuck in NL without a romantic partner, so maybe they could hook her up with Tiger Lily?
On tumblr there are people all over with role playing blogs, and people send in questions and they answer in character. Came across one the other day where someone asked a Henry RPer, what if when he grows up, his true love ends up being a boy. The RPer replied as Henry basically saying, “Well then, he’d be a boy. And we’d probably have lots of sword fights.” Anyway, I guess Henry would only get a romantic partner if the show runs for several more years, so who knows if it would even eventuate, no matter if he’s straight or gay.
I think though that if they do want to have a gay couple, they can’t really mess around with any of the traditionally known straight pairings. If they do it like that, it just makes it feel like a forced thing, just for the sake of having a gay couple as a means of being politically correct. So I think it’d be more likely for them to take characters who don’t traditionally have an epic true love story with the opposite gender, and give them a true love of the same gender instead.
