ParticipantWhile some people feel “our cast is set”–I’ve watched enough shows where some of my favorite characters did not show up until the middle or end of the series. New characters with major storylines they introduce can really help keep a show fresh. I think Ariel could be that type of character.
I hope so! With any luck, the fact that they’ve held off on introducing her thus far means they want to give her a significant role in the future and have to wait for just the right time to introduce her.
Plus, with Ory leaving, they sort of have a gap open for a “friend” character. I think Emma could use a BFF friend of her own, besides her mother or mother’s friends.
That’s a good point. MM was the closest thing she had to a girlfriend…and MM ended up being her mother. Red was Snow’s BFF before Emma met her. She’s had no emotional connection with Belle, so they’d be pretty much starting from scratch if they wanted to develop a friendship there, and that might feel a bit forced, given that they haven’t shown any interest in being friends thus far.
Ariel could fill the role quite nicely though, especially if they all meet her and get to know her for the first time in S3. My headcanon has the CS relationship ultimately being close friends. Make Ariel the true love of Emma’s BFF and it’s a natural progression that she and Emma become close friends too. Man, now I have visions of Emma trying to get Hookriel together…Ariel’s clueless about men and Killian thinks he doesn’t deserve happiness and Emma plays matchmaker so the two crazy kids can get it together. 😉

Participant1) PP wanted Tamara and Greg to destroy SB by triggering the failsafe.
Which means the failsafe is potentially something of PP’s own design. Which begs the question of how exactly Regina got it. And if she had it in her pocket when she got on the JR, could it potentially come into play again if they can recharge it somehow once it’s back in the land it originated from? If PP created it, can it be used to destroy him? (That would be similar to how Cora was the one who gave Snow the candle, and in the end, it came back to bite her.)
Phee
ParticipantI don’t think PP wants Emma-why risk her dying in the failsafe thing? They all thought it might happen.
Ah, that’s an excellent point. If the purpose of the failsafe was to wipe out everyone else so PP could get the one he wanted, then it wouldn’t make much sense if he really wanted one of the people who would have died in the process.

ParticipantAnd Dominick Monhagan would work as an aged up Peter Pan–especially an angry one
Any of those LOST castings would work for me, but this one jumped out in particular. Dom would make a fantastic PP! He could be all edgy and twisted and reckless and mischevious.
Dunno how many people have seen any of his show “Dom’s Wild Things”, I’ve only ever seen a couple of eps myself, but it’s a documentary type show where he goes in search of weird, creepy, dangerous creatures. One of the eps I saw he was searching for a particular type of especially deadly scorpion, and along the way he found other types of scorpions and was holding some of them and getting all excited because it was the coolest thing ever and I was all, “You sir are a FREAK!” as I sat here and cringed. LOL
Anyway, given his actual personality, I think he could bring a really cool edge to PP. And he’s got a rough and ready look about him, so I could totally imagine him ruling the wilds of NL.
Phee
ParticipantWhen he acts out, it’s like a child throwing a temper tantrum because he doesn’t get his way. But, underneath, his own trapped heart is crying out for his own mother. It would be very interesting to see the writers contrast PP with Henry, who in his own longing for his mother, Emma, he chose to have faith that good always wins.
That would be a very interesting contrast for them to play around with.
Phee
ParticipantI wonder if, like you and Phee are suggesting, PP doesn’t have heart and that is what chains him to NL, only his shadow is free to roam other lands. By getting the heart of the truest believer, PP can leave NL.
I like this! So, does he wanna leave NL for nefarious, powerhungry reasons? Or does he just wanna leave because he’s trapped and he finally wants to be free and grow up?
Hmmmm, well either there goes my theory or else the show’s editors did a really poor job with that scene.
I’d really been hoping for him to be shadow-less, so was sorta bummed when I kept an eye out for it on re-watch. Could have been easily avoided just by re-positioning a light if the shadow wasn’t meant to be there. Or even just using a shot of Felix going out the door, and not showing the shot of Hook until after he’d already walked past.
Phee
ParticipantBased on what Felix said about how painful shadow ripping is, he may have been speaking from first-hand experience. If PP indeed ripped Felix’s shadow, then based on Felix’s servitude, I’d say it makes a person into a minion of PP.
I was sure he’d been speaking from experience. But then someone noticed that at the end of that scene, as Felix is walking out the door, you clearly see his shadow passing over Hook’s face. If Felix didn’t have his shadow, they could have easily shot that differently so it didn’t show up.

ParticipantIf PP took out Henry’s heart, and put it into himself, if it worked, and PP remained himself, (unlike poor Daniel), that could actually be pretty compelling. Assuming Henry is still alive, (I know it’s been implied that he’ll have to die, but perhaps Felix just said that because PP wants the kid’s heart, and Felix assumes that will kill the kid), I assume he’d be enslaved to PP, who has his heart in his possession. They wouldn’t be able to straight up kill PP to rescue Henry, because if PP dies, so does Henry. So they’d have to figure out a way to get Henry’s heart back.
Phee
ParticipantMaybe PP lost his own heart and wants to use Henry’s as a replacement? They’ve already established how that doesn’t work so well in Whale’s story, so if PP wants to do the same…I’m sorta scared of how that might go.

ParticipantRight before I got an “Error establishing a database connection” just before, I attempted to submit a post about the chat…
I’ve got a teeny tiny box for typing in now, and hitting enter didn’t send the message, just put a new line in the message I was typing. So I clicked the “go” button instead and it opened a new browser tab with just the chat history on it, covering the whole page, and my new message down the bottom. Then that page gave a timeout error. Meanwhile, back on the forum page, my message was still sitting in the typing box as though it was unsent.
Also, chat no longer shows the most recent messages. When a page reloads, the chat is scrolled to a message sent ages ago, and I’ve gotta scroll down to get to the recent messages.
This happening to anyone else? (I’m using Firefox BTW.)
ETA that right after I sent that post…chat went back to working like normal. Typical! LOL
