ParticipantI haven’t even made it to the first bullet point yet and am already laughing:
As the season went on it only became clearer that Hook was dragging down the entire show.
Yeah, the character of Hook hasn’t given the story or the fandom any sort of a boost at all. *rollseyes* Guess this guy has never taken 2 minutes to search tumblr or Twitter.
Not everyone has to love Hook, not everyone has to even like him, but if you’re gonna say that his introduction had an overwhelming negative affect on the entire show…you can’t really expect people to take you seriously. If you believe him to be so inept and ineffectual, then how can you also credit him with having enough power to be able to drag down the entire show? Does not compute.

ParticipantIn other words, we kinda still know nothing.
Business as usual at Oncer HQ. LOL š

ParticipantRufio is only in “Hook” (took over leadership of the Lost Boys after PP left), which is why we weren’t expecting K&H to have the rights to use him: http://neverpedia.com/pan/Rufio

ParticipantI’m DYING to see what PP looks like. The casting announcement can’t come soon enough, (surely they can’t keep it under wraps for much longer, considering filming starts soon). I wanna know how old he’s gonna be. And if they cast someone well known for playing devious roles, it could give us an idea of what to expect PP to be like.

ParticipantThereās a new theory floating around tumblr that Ariel is Hookās mom and she fell in love with Hookās dad and they had one beautiful night together and Ariel managed to negotiate with someone to stay human for nine months, so she could carry the baby to term but then once she gives birth to baby Killian, she turns back into a mermaid and her and Killianās daddy are separated, and Killianās dad is so depressed and miserable about this that he abandons his son to find Ariel.
Yeah, I’ve seen that theory on tumblr. Needless to say, it would sink the Hookriel ship if proven true, so I’m not really on board with it. LOL š
ETA that it’s not just on shipper grounds that I’m not really into the idea of Ariel as Hook’s mother. Just speaking as a straight up Ariel fan, I’m hoping she’ll be significant enough to be involved in present day storyline, and having her be Hook’s mother would relegate her to just being in flashbacks in 1 or 2 eps.

ParticipantAnyway so basically I think that part of the solution with Reginaās problem *and I also think she is going to be Ursula* is to send her to Neverland. And when she gets sent it might be like just a few years before the curse hits? IDK how the Neverland time works but it probably wouldnāt be 100-200 years.
I also am hoping that once Ariel and Hook do meet *I hope they meet when he was just Killian Jones and then donāt see each other till NVL* that they have a complicated relationship.Ah, that comment of Regina’s has been taunting us for so long now! Hook’s comments about mermaids struck me as something he’d seen evidence of right there in NL. If so, (and if they don’t go and retcon Regina’s comment), we have mermaids in two separate worlds. Of course, maybe Hook’s comments WEREN’T meant to imply something he’d seen happen in NL, and he’s talking of previous experience in FTL…but mermaids are traditionally residents of NL, so I can’t shake the idea that Hook has encountered some since he’s been there and that we’ll see some there.
I do kinda like the idea of Ariel having encountered Killian in his pre-Hook days. If so, it must have been 300-odd years ago in FTL, (though we don’t have clarification as to if Killian had been to other world in his time pre-Hook, “many strange glittering shores” is delightfully vague), so if the whole deal with Ursula went down right after Ariel met him, then Regina couldn’t be Ursula, because she hasn’t been alive that long.
FWIW though, in Anderson’s Little Mermaid, the mermaid’s grandmother says, “We sometimes live to three hundred years,” which is quite matchy matchy to the length of time that we’ve been told Rumple and Hook have been alive for. So, could Ariel have potentially seen a young Killian in FTL 300-odd years ago, and then almost 300 years later have sought out Ursula/Regina in a desperate attempt to find him again before she dies? (Of course, if they went this route, they’d have to have mermaids shown as not aging as humans do, because I doubt they’d show Ariel as an elderly woman trying to get back to 30-something Killian…I know we’ve got a significant physical appearance age difference with Rumbelle, but I just can’t imagine Ariel being portrayed as looking so old that she’s going grey.)
Anyway, in this scenario, Regina/Ursula could have made Ariel human after the events of Skin Deep, (ever since we saw Rumple take a tongue, I’ve figured that must be connected to Ursula doing it to Ariel, and we do know that Rumple taught Regina stuff), and then maybe Ariel could have found her way to NL looking for Killian, and she could still be there in present day. Unless she was just searching for him in FTL and got swept up in the Curse and ends up popping up in SB. But having someone actually in NL mention mermaids feels like foreshadowing that we’ll see THE mermaid in NL in some capacity.
It depends on what Ariel is going to be like.
Hook has not had good encounters with mermaids apparently so she could be an evil mermaid, or some people have said Neverland is cursed so thatās why she is evil, and Hook said ācurse of the mermaidsā or something like that, so they wouldnāt like each other.
Or if she was like the only good mermaid maybe he wouldnāt trust her and they just butt heads all the time.I’d love to have legit malevolent mermaids who have a rep for being dangerous because they actually are. Ariel would be different of course, but could still have that dark side lurking there because she can’t completely escape how mermaids are genetically programmed to behave. I’d love to see a sailor who has a predisposition to hating mermaids due to past experience actually end up falling in love with one.

ParticipantThanks for posting this, seems easy enough. š

ParticipantYes, it’s good to have official clarification on that one. Glad he replied to you, obisgirl. š They really should have taken the time to move that freaking rock.

ParticipantWhy on earth did Sinqua mention it in an interview then? You wouldn’t think he’d have said anything about it unless they’d been in contact with him, would you? *headdesk*

ParticipantDidn’t Adam tweet someone not long ago that ep 3 would be Snowing, in keeping with the theme of ep 3 from previous seasons?
My main beef with SB&T was the de-aging plot twist, (I loved seeing more of August, and was sad that they effectively killed him off). As long as they give Ms Vazquez some better material to work with this time, I’ll give her a shot at redemption. š
