Ah, sweet, innocent Laine, unwittingly being reported on set and sending us into a neverending whirlwind of speculation…until that fateful day that she tweeted she wasn’t part of the show at all. 😆
Regarding Ariel, I think you can only age her up so much before you risk losing some of the charm of the character. She’s gotta be old enough to be given a meaty storyline, but still young enough that she hasn’t totally grown out of that daydreamy young rebel thing she’s got going on.

Totally off topic but I was really excited to see Evangeline as Tauriel in the new Hobbit trailer! Have been curious as to what that character would be like, and she looks pretty freaking cool IMO. 😀

The fact that they’ve worked together previously may mean Adam had her in mind specifically for a certain role.

I never watched Popular, but looking it up on imdb, I see that Adam was a producer on it, so they’ve worked together in some capacity, a bit over a decade ago.Wish there was a way to tell what date people edited their Twitter bio, because “i’m really good at being: CURIOUS” fits with a famous Alice In Wonderland quote, and could also apply to Ariel. If Carly has been cast on either show, Imma need an announcement STAT, before I lose my mind wondering about it. 😆

There haven’t been any casting calls leak, apart from the rumoured, (ie: it was mentioned on tumblr that someone had seen it on SpoilerTV but ABC apparently requested for them to take it down, and it seems no one copied and pasted it anywhere before it disappeared so we don’t even know if it’s legit), casting call for Ariel. But Carly is older than I'd anticipated for Ariel. The alleged Ariel casting call apparently was for someone early – mid-20s, and Carly is 32.
K&H are well within their rights to change the flow of their story if need be. They no doubt have an outline of how they initially want it to play out, but writing and making a TV show is a creative process. With any creative process, things get altered along the way as you see how your ideas become reality. Sometimes the reality is different to what you originally perceived, and sometimes in the middle of the creative process you’ll be struck by some new inspiration. Nothing is set in stone. That’s what happened with K&H during the production of S2. I don’t personally think they were in FTL for too long, but am also glad it didn’t drag out any longer than it did.
Must confess, part of the reason I’d like to see Lancelot still breathing is that after the brief glimpse we got of him, I decided I could totally ship him with Mulan, so it’d be cool to see them meet up properly.
Merlin is the Arthurian character I’d be most interested in seeing, too. And how many times did we wonder if casting calls in S2 were for Morgana? I’m still undecided on whether or not everyone will ultimately end up back FTL by show’s end, but if they do, they’ll need a new baddie there to battle with if Regina and Rumple are both getting redeemed along the way, and if they eventually deal with PP and THO, and we can rule out Maleficent as a present day threat. They’d need to get another big bad, and Morgana may be a potential candidate, which would in turn bring Merlin into the story on the side of the good guys. That’s all just crazy speculation for S4 and beyond though.
