I think Emilie’s statements tell us why it was so important to see Rumple & Cora’s relationship, beyond the complexities with her death. He’s been with the girl who loved his darkness and power and that did not go well for him.
Yes! I’m sure his previous experience with Cora will ultimately influence how he proceeds with Belle, even though he will undoubtedly initially be tempted to take the easy road and just stay dark because Lacey likes it.

I do wonder, since she apparently had mass control over the citizens of SB during the Curse, whether Kathryn actually had any recollection of a marriage before David woke up, or if Regina just made that all happen and the curse took care of the accompanying stuff, like the photos.
I’ve always figured that Kathryn only “remembered” having a husband starting from the moment when Regina went and knocked on her door to bring her to the hospital. He was a John Doe until suddenly Regina dragged Kathryn in all, “here’s his wife”. If she’d actually had memories of being his wife for all those years, she’d have found him and would have been by his bedside.

ParticipantIf we go back to the phone call…
Youβre a beautiful woman, who loved an ugly man. Really, really loved me. You find goodness in others. And when itβs not there, you create it. You make me want to go back. Back, to the best version of me. And that never happened before.
He still thinks of himself as ugly. Belle created a tiny bit of good in him that he never believed was there. Now he’s gotta try and create that good for both of their sakes, without her help, in fact, perhaps with Lacey encouraging his ugly side. Belle doesn’t have her goodness creation skills right now, right when Rumple needs them the most. The only help he’ll have from her is the seed of belief she planted in his head before losing her memory, but he never truly believed in it when she wasn’t around to constantly reassure him. Now he’s gotta do it all himself. He’s gotta save them both. If he fails, Belle’s gone forever. I hope they don’t give that situation a quick fix. But however long it does or doesn’t last, the one thing that’s for sure is that Robert will rock the crap out of that struggle and angst.

It needs to reach conclusion by seasons end so they can continue to explore Rumple road to redemption.
The way I see it though, this struggle he’s going to go through in regards to Lacey is actually a huge step along his road to redemption. It’s gonna challenge his ideas of the type of man he wants to be, and what actions he’s going to take, and if he’s gonna have the balls to walk the tough path instead of taking the easy option of just being the bad boy that Lacey likes. By the time Lacey falls for him, and becomes Belle again, he’ll have had to make some major progression towards redemption. And his overall progression will be drawn out for a long time yet, so having it take a while for him to work through this part of it would be fine with me.
In later eps we know she's at the shop, and it appears that they're back together, and she's wearing her hair differently. These can be signs that they're working on it. She's willing to give him a chance, and they start dating. Maybe he says that he always thought she was really pretty with her hair down, so she changes the style back to that because she's making an effort to give Rumple and the relationship a genuine try and see where it leads. That doesn't necessarily mean she's fallen back in love with him yet though, and until Lacey actually falls in love with him, he's not getting Belle back.

ParticipantIt’s amused me how much confusion there’s been over the pronunciation of “Tamara”, because the way they say it on the show is the only way I’ve ever heard it said, and I’ve never thought it sounded like “tomorrow”. *shrug*

ParticipantShe has no idea who Belle is. Mr. Gold needs me to fall in love with him, though, so he can figure out a way to get me back. If I fall in love with him, true love’s kiss or whatever magic he’s thinking up will be the way to get Belle back.
Doesn’t sound like she’ll be re-Belle-ified immediately. Maybe not even by season’s end. Which I’m OK with, because I think it will be fascinating to see Rumple having to start from scratch to win her heart, especially if Lacey is actually attracted to Rumple’s darkness, though Rumple ultimately wants to end up with her because she makes him a better man. That’s too complicated to fully explore and wrap up in just an ep or two.

OMG I am SO ready for the new eps!
I watch Hawaii 5-0 and the two NCIS’s, though I usually barely pay attention to the crime-of-the-week, I just love the characters and how they interact. McDanno bromance on H50 is the sweetest thing ever.
Recently got back into the swing of regularly watching Supernatural.
Desperately need to get caught up on Psych.
Currently loving our new season of The Voice, but that’s really just because Ricky Martin joined our judging panel and he’s fun to look at. π

ParticipantThey drew that mole on digitally after shooting the scene, and put it into the promo specifically to drive us nuts. π
