ParticipantIt is disappointing that Charming hasn’t bonded with his daughter more. But if they’ve done that on purpose so they can set up this rift between Snowing, then I guess it’s at least serving a purpose. If Charming were as close to Emma as Snow is, then they wouldn’t disagree as much about the going or staying, and they couldn’t do this storyline with the same emotional impact. Perhaps he’s intentionally been keeping his distance, because he honestly believes they’ll be separated again in the not too distant future.

hcadia, about Hook’s ship.
I’m actually surprised to hear his ship is made from the enchanted wood. Because in that case, why did Cora need the ash from the enchanted wardrobe in Snow’s palace? She could’ve just chip a bit off the ship? Or not even that, simply sail it to another world, just like that? (since it has the necessary magical properties) .The ship didn’t necessarily have the necessary properties. The ash from the enchanted wardrobe wood was special because it was the remains of a portal. Hook still needed a bean to get to Neverland, (and to our world), so his boat’s wood doesn’t have the same portal properties that the wardrobe wood did.

So much of his behavior would not be tolerated if the man looked like this:

I dunno, Rumple isn’t exactly stereotypically dashingly handsome, and folks still love the crap out of him. Hook might have a bit of a “dirty old man” vibe if he was older and still said some of the stuff he does, but I think at the end of the day, pirates can get away with a lot and still be considered badass because they’re pirates. They’re not meant to be polite. 😉
People’s views of Onciverse Hook can be quite polarising. You either think he’s completely shallow, or incredibly deep. I’m the latter, but can see how others could take him at face value and be turned off. It’s not really that different of a situation to Rumple. People either think he’s the ultimate evil, or the ultimate candidate for redemption.

ParticipantI liked that Ruby’s fave Jules Verne book just happened to be The Mysterious Island. 😉

ParticipantOMG I can’t freaking WAIT to see the full scene where Emma discovers who she’s been chasing! You can see her brain exploding in that 2 second shot in the promo. 😯 😆

Thing is, it can’t be a bombshell now, because everybody already knows who he is!
Anyone who frequents forums knows, yes, but the casual viewer who hasn’t been a part of the Nealfire speculations will consider it bombshell-ish.

Oh yeah, he says ‘left town’ not ‘left hand’, makes A LOT of difference! 😆
What doesn’t make sense (yet) is how Hook knows he’s powerless. Rumple himself didn’t figure it out until he bashed up his hand.

I wonder if Gold is actually scared of flights?
He’s come from a word with no technology, and now he’s sitting in a big tin can with wings, about to be thrust into the sky, and he has no magic to protect himself if something goes wrong. Yeah, I’d say he’s plenty scared!

I didn’t really like Belles sceen with Ruby, Ruby knows that Belle isn’t imagening the fireball and pretty much everybody who hears her is going to know that she’s not crazy but they’re still druging her!?. Poor girl seems to be right back where she started. Poor Belle.
I was puzzled by Ruby’s reaction to her too. Guess they’re in a tricky situation though. If they tell her, “Yeah, you totally saw that, it was magic,” then she’ll likely flip out again. If they tell her she’s imagining things, she thinks she’s crazy. It’s a lose, lose situation. 😕

Hook’s sexually charged jokes towards Mary Margareth (Why?? And I say this as a Hook fan(lets be clear: I like his character, he is complex and fun) just please ONCE writers leave the “dirty Hook jokes” for Emma, Belle, or Regina…If Captain Swan is going to evolve or happen, regardless of shipping preferences the truth is it is awkward that he behaves like that with Emma’s mother!! 😆
It’s his defense mechanism, so I thought it was perfectly in character for him to be acting like that with Snow. I’m guessing he’s probably been like that with every female he’s had contact with since Milah. He can’t let himself be honest, open or vulnerable with a woman again on any level, because he’s still scarred from the last time he did. So instead he puts on the playboy facade and throws up an emotional wall.

ParticipantPrince James was an EPIC douchebag! Poor Jack, getting seduced by the pretty and then being left to die.
One of my fave parts of this ep was Snow’s, “I had a lot of fun today,” Ginny totally nailed the delivery. For all the running around with arrows and whatnot, that scene in the street was when she seemed completely Snow-ish IMO.

I absolutely love how vulnerable Rumple is right now. Magic-free, high chance of forgetting who he is, experiencing our aggravating and confusing world for the first time, a possible ugly encounter with Bae expected, and on top of that, being aggravated by Henry!! hahahahaaa The experience of this trip is his price for the magic he used on the talisman, IMO.
Everything with Rumple in this ep was fabulous. I love how completely out of his depth he is right now. That scene in the bathroom where he couldn’t heal himself, you could feel his apprehension increase 10 fold in that one moment. Will certainly be interesting to see if this stripping of his powers is a permanent thing, or if it’s conditional on him being outside SB. Hmmmm.

correct me if i’m off the road here… but its not the first time that i hear that hooks ship is made by enchanted wood… why has it been mentioned over a few episodes now… there does exist enchanted wood novels…where there is a land of wizards, a land of white rabbit and so on… and then august was also made by enchanted wood, and he and emma did came to storybrooke through enchanted tree…. they all are some kind of related to this enchanted tree or wood or forest…. i dont even know what my question is…but does any one have a clue about his ship? 😕 😕 😕 😕
Don’t think we’ve seen any mention of Hook’s ship being made from enchanted wood before. Guess it’s not that surprising though, considering it survived a voyage through the ocean, which you’d think would tear a ship apart.

I also liked seeing Tiny with the dwarves at the end. He basically found new “brothers” to replace the ones that he lost, and they are much nicer.
Yes, I liked that they gave him a new family with the dwarves. Had to laugh at the big area of land they were digging up though. They did notice the size of the cutting, right? 😆

ParticipantIt was fun the way they wrote the reveal with Grumpy questioning him, but, meh, after waiting so long, it was sort of an anti-climax that his name is just David.

ParticipantI’ve been waiting for that reunion for forever! Bring it on!

This person, IMHO, seems to be watching the exchange in the coffee shop behind them and run into Neal on purpose. Maybe she's trailing him? Because of his role in the future war? My pet theory right now is that this character is Tinkerbell (and/or a fairy) sent by Blue to find Bae. Blue knew Bae's name when they meet (knew about a possible prophecy too?) and I'm still hoping that Blue's been a couple steps ahead of everyone and been setting the story into action over the centuries spanned.
If she does end up being someone from FTL, I agree that she's likely working for Blue. I believe that Blue has been watching over Emma her whole life, same with Pinocchio, and she used him to help her find Bae in this world too, which is how August ended up getting involved in SwanThief. With August having disappeared after that, I could see it if Blue sent someone else outside SB to check on Neal when the time was drawing near for the curse to be broken. Tamara may have been sent to spy on Neal, and then she'll run into August as a bonus, and can report that back to Blue. Then Tamara may contact August, and give him instructions from Blue, and directions to SB. Taking all of that into consideration, it'd make more sense if Tamara was a fairy, as opposed to Tiana, who everyone sort of assumed she'd be after the casting call.
