It’s a more compelling story if they give it more layers. A story about the EQ being vain and wanting Snow dead because she was prettier wouldn’t sustain the show for multiple years. They haven’t eliminated the theme entirely. Regina owns 1 or 2 (hundred) mirrors. 😉

Regarding The Little Mermaid, I’m hoping she’ll be a recurring character, which means I hope she’s still alive in present day, which means I hope that whatever else they do with the character, they don’t go with the ending of the Anderson version of the story.

I choose to not focus on details like this for this show and here’s why…In the show, the stories with all their twists and turns are the “real” versions. The stories we grew up with are the fictionalized version. How their stories made it to our world I don’t know but it’s like the game telephone…things get distorted and changed and embellished. I don’t think of it as the writers changing things as much as restoring them to how they were supposed to be. 🙂 It keeps the English/History major in me happy.

That’s how I look at it too. It’s like K&H have come to be in possession of newly discovered historical documents that actually have the facts of what happened, instead of the distorted versions of the truth we’ve previously heard in stories that have been told and retold over the centuries.

Yeah, and that’s the pic where the end of the arrow has a flame on it too, isn’t it? Between that and the cape, lots of people took it as confirmation that Henry’s father is Baelfire.

They never needed to identify themselves “in the real world” so it will be interesting how Gold bypasses his fake identity and all that.

I agree with some points you made, but that’s where we disagree.

Sticking with the example of MM’s credit card. Henry used it on the mommy finder website, and he used it to buy a bus ticket to Boston, and he also used it to pay for a cab there. All of the facilities he used to pay for those things were in the real world, not SB operated. If Henry plugged in credit card details that weren’t recognised as being legit in the real world, it wouldn’t have worked, the card would have been rejected. But it did work. Which means that MM’s magically created credit info is legit enough to be recognised by our real world systems, which in turn should mean that Mr Gold’s ID will also be recognised, no problems. That right there is interaction between SB and the outside world, even though SB is essentially a non-entity as far as the outside world is concerned. If magic isn’t supposed to exist in our world, then how does that work?

Rumple wasn’t being a coward. His presence wasn’t helping Belle, she was terrified of him. He was desperate to get her to remember and he was only making the situation worse. Emotions were running high for him and her. The best thing for both of them was for him to leave her alone and that wouldn’t have been an easy decision to make. She is the woman he loves, she’s telling him to go away, he’s respecting her wishes. That doesn’t mean he’s given up on her, he’s just allowing time for everything to calm down before he tries again.

It’s that classic saying that if you love someone, you have to set them free, and if they come back, then it was meant to be. Much easier said than done. I’d say that realising that Belle needs space and giving it to her is the bravest thing he’s done in a good long while.

Some people do say that he tried a bit too much to get her to remember (and I agree) but it was a bit understandable.

I reckon it’s completely understandable. The only way Rumple has solved problems in his life is by using magic, so it was totally in character for him to charm Chip and shove it in Belle’s face, begging her to let it work. He was desperate and didn’t know any other way to handle it. The last time he let go of someone, it was Bae, and he’s been alone and suffering for it ever since. So is it any wonder he couldn’t bring himself to let go of Belle here?

Speaking of Hook and possible Bae/Pan connections…
Has anyone seen the SyFy miniseries “Neverland?” If you haven’t and have Netflix, I really recommend it, it’s really quite good, the digital effects and scenery are breathtaking. Anyway, the main point I’m drawing is: in “Neverland” Hook raises Peter Pan because he made a promise to Pan’s mother, with whom Hook was deeply in love, despite Hook’s hatred for Pan’s father. OUaT is known for turning the original fairy tales on their head and what would cause more drama than Rumple’s greatest enemy raising his son b/c of Milah. And going back to The Outsider when Hook made mention of Bae not wanting to be found and he was doing the boy a favor, it could reference that he knew NealFire Pan.

I haven’t seen Neverland, but am sure K&H have. I’ve got this image of them spending a whole weekend completely immersed in every writing and movie about Peter Pan, totally geeking out, madly taking notes and throwing around ideas for who their Pan was gonna be.

Oh I know, I’m just saying that based on how he looks in that particular photo they chose for the article, I can totally see a resemblance between him and Colin, so could buy him as PapaHook.

The figure in the title card looks too tall to be a child though, IMO. I think it represents both adult Neal, settling in NYC, and child Bae, who always wore his cloak.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we see more ‘sneaky bastard’ Henry and Gold and Emma find him on the plane after it takes off- can just see him chilling in first class (reading) and Emma stumbles across him 4 minutes into the flight! 😆

    That’s a fun image! 😆

I’d never seen a SW movie the whole way through until I met my ex. He was SW obsessed, so I got sucked into the movies a bit by default, and ended up really enjoying them. Even as someone who doesn’t have the lifelong emotional attachment with the movies that so many people have, I’ve gotta say they should leave well enough alone, and think that making any more will be overkill and unnecessary. Abrams is either brave or stupid to be taking this task on.

But then, I don’t believe that poor JarJar, bless his heart, deserves to burn in the firey pit of hell, so what do I know. 😆
