ParticipantI love how delightfully awkward Rumple looks as he’s walking through the airport security. He’s already lost control of what’s happening with Belle in SB, and now he’s out of his depth in our modern world on top of it all. Will be fun seeing how he copes.

I don’t think James, Charming’s brother, was Jack, since he was traded as a baby to be King George’s son in a deal Charming’s father made with Rumplestiltskin. I won’t rule it out though, since Jack is an obvious nickname for James. But maybe Charming is Jack! 😮
There’s another post somewhere in here about a chick having apparently been cast to play Jack. I think Charming’s twin was involved in the war with the giants, and fought alongside Jack, but James escaped, though not before slaying someone close to our particular Giant, which is why he’s gonna go after Charming, thinking he’s James.

-Potential new ship in Frankenwolf. It’s definitely ironic because this time last season, Dr. Whale was such a horn dog for Ruby, but this episode showed that maybe if would have been himself, they might have actually ended up together.
I’m all about Frankenwolf, their scene at the dock was lovely.
-Rumple was very menacing and very on the edge this episode, as he should be, and Robert Carlyle played it perfectly. Yes, it’s out of character for Rumple to shout out threats to kids, but think of the state of mind that he was in to get to that point and it makes sense.
Exactly. Dude is messed up and strung out and on edge, and I thought it was great. I liked how he was instantly resorting to magic to try and fix her, because that was keeping in character for him. And I loved when it didn’t work, because he doesn’t deserve the easy fix. If he’d taken the time to consider what he should do, and looked at this as an opportunity to change, like Belle’s been begging him to, then Chip wouldn’t have ended up getting smashed. I was really sad to see it happen, because that cup was like a sacred object, but that just made the moment all the more powerful. His threat against the Charmings was said out of fear. He fears he’s already lost Belle, and can’t stand the thought of whatever remote chance he has left being destroyed while he’s away. So while it was a truly horrible thing to say, especially in front of Henry, I can see why he did it. He’s running scared, with no control, and can’t use magic to fix it. He’s WAY out of his comfort zone and doesn’t know how to deal. And Rumple should ALWAYS know how to deal. He’s feeling like EPIC FAIL right now.
-Regina falling for Cora’s words. I knew Regina’s redemption was too good to be true. It doesn’t mean she can’t redeem herself later on, but I think this just showed that she needed to do it for her own sake rather than just trying to get Henry back. If she only wants to get better because of Henry and not because she realizes it’s the right thing to do, she’ll likely relapse again like she did in this episode. The same applies to Rumple. If he only does the right thing because he feels he has to, to keep Belle in his life, he’s likely going to fail.
Yes and yes! I did want to slap her for caving so quickly to mother’s manipulations, but unless and until she realises the real reasons she should be wanting to change, that change will be impossible, and this situation was a perfect illustration of that.
-Greg Mendell. I still don’t think he’s a normal outsider even if his phone points to that. I love that we got two mysteries for the price of one so to speak because not only is Mendell’s identity still unknown, but there’s also the mysterious “her”. It could be an acronym. It could be Dorothy, Alice, Tinkerbell, etc. The possibilities are almost endless.
No way is he some regular guy. They’ve set him up too much to look like one, so he’s gotta end up being someone important. I liked them having the Frankenstein story in this ep, because it led to Henry’s conclusion that anyone, from any world, could get to SB. I think that was a nice little setup for the fact that Greg is from some other, storybook related land. *cough*Oz*cough*
-Globe thingy. One step closer to (crossing my fingers) everyone finding out that Neal is Baelfire.
We’ve seen a few globes in his shop before. Perhaps he was trying to turn one of those into a tool like the magical globe?
-Ruby and Dr. Whale talking about how the Curse was sort of a blessing in disguise. I can see how it can be looked at that way in some instances, but I just don’t want them to get too carried away with further whitewashing of Regina’s misdeeds.
I didn’t really look at it as them downplaying Regina’s deeds. I looked at it as adding to the tragedy of it all. Regina sacrificed her soul to make everyone completely miserable. Turns out, they’re not necessarily completely miserable. So Regina’s evilness was in vain. It doesn’t excuse that she did it, it makes it all the more sad what a wretched witch she became, and it didn’t even get her what she wanted.

Oh no.
But LOL
This quite literally made me LOL!! 😆 😆 😆
That sword looks so piratey. The TeamPan supporter in me wants to take it as a hint that he spent time in Neverland dealing with pirates. But perhaps they just raided Hook's ship in SB and stole his weaponry?

Okay, if Neal is both Baelfire & Peter Pan – Is it at all possible that Hook and Peter met [in Neverland] and actually became friends, as opposed to enemies? In “The Outsider” when Hook is preventing Belle from stealing back Baelfire’s shawl, he says to her, “What makes you think his son wants to be found? I’m doing that boy a favour.” It hinted, to me at least, that he knew Baelfire very well, and that Baelfire shared confidences with him.
Possible, but if Bae was Pan I’d expect more of a complicated frenemies dynamic than straight friendship. Hook knows that Emma was “abandoned” without her confiding it. If he and Pan were adversaries for a couple hundred years Hook would still be in a position to learn a lot, and they might easily develop respect for one another. If Bae isn’t Pan at all, Hook could still be quite perceptive about him.
Their relationship would totally be complicated. Imagine you’re Bae, after all you’ve been through, and then this pirate shows up and shows an interest in you because he’d been in love with your mother when your father killed her. 😕 But the way Hook mentioned the Lost Boys with apparent fondness instead of disdain, would suggest that they’d managed to develop a friendship, so whatever awkwardness is there at the start, it could be interesting to see their relationship develop. That’s one of the reasons I hope Bae ended up in Neverland, because that storyline could make for some good TV.

ParticipantNo worries. I’ve got enough crackpot theories of my own to keep me thoroughly perplexed, so can’t take on credit and responsibility for other people’s as well. 😆

^I highly doubt Belle’s memory loss will be permament. Early on the season, Adam and Eddie said that Belle and Rumpel would have to fall in love all over again. At first, I thought they were referring to the fact that it had been 28 years since they had saw each other. But after the events of last week’s episode, their comments make a lot more sense. I think all Rumpel has to do is just find a way to make her fall in love with her again. Simple.
That may be what needs to happen, and I sincerely hope it does, but I dunno if I’d call it “simple”. 😆
Rumple has to man up, drop the facade, put aside the magic, and be completely vulnerable and honest with her. That won’t be an easy task for him. Then there’s also the fact that anyone in town who disapproves of Rumple, which, let’s face it, is pretty much everyone, wouldn’t have much nice stuff to say about him if Belle asks them who he is. And then she may well still have Hook in her ear, reminding her that Rumple killed his wife. And if Bae comes to town, he may well warn her off getting involved with his father.
So, yeah, not such a simple process, but that’s fine with me, because complicated is more interesting. Rumple’s been on a 300 year long descent into hell, so I hope they don’t give him a quick fix and instead make him really work at it to climb back up to become a good man, and win Belle’s heart back in the process.

If Neal is Bae, then not only would seeing a pic of Rumple in the box convince him that August had connections and knew the truth, but it’d probably also scare him into complying.
Exactly. I just don’t buy the dagger drawing, because August knowing about the dagger isn’t that scary if Neal/Bae has every reason to believe that Papa is still in FTL. It’s a shock but not an immediate threat. Learning that his father is here and that a curse is involved poses a more immediate threat, so it just seems like a much better attention grabber. Especially with all the hinting that Bae won’t be happy to see Rumple.
Agreed. A drawing of the dagger may convince him that August knew something, but a photo of Papa Dearest wearing a snappy suit as he strolls down the main street of SB with his cane, THAT is gonna put the fear of God into Nealfire and force him to listen. So when August tells him that Emma has a role in breaking Rumple’s curse, he’s gonna have no choice but to cooperate.

It was a whale. There’s a moment when August goes to see Marco in his workshop in SB when he sees it still sitting on his shelf.

That was AntBee’s theory. 😉 (I have had Jekyll and Hyde ideas, but that was in relation to Dr Whale’s brother a while back.)

Yeah, somebody didn’t do their homework completely. No car I know of in PA has plates on front and back. Our front bumpers in PA aren’t even sold with a place to put them.
When I was travelling in the US I was perplexed by the license plate situation in some areas. In Tennessee I saw a bright yellow Ferrari with a yellow smiley face as the front plate. 😆 Here in Australia you’ve gotta have matching plates, front and back. If a PA car didn’t need both plates, and PA bumpers don’t even have space for one, then you know that them breaking the rules to make sure we saw the PA plate means that the PA has to have significance.

ParticipantThat would certainly be a fun little twist on the story. “Jack” could easily be a nickname for a Jacqueline.
I don’t think it contradicts the mistaken identity bit, they’re two separate events/people. We saw Jack’s skeleton in the Giant’s house, and we saw James die at another time and place. James could have been part of the battle with the giants, but he ended up escaping and surviving it, unlike poor Jack.
