Hurley doesn’t look quite so sweet and cuddly in this role. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, I’m honestly think that the whole Belle runs into an old aquantiance (Grumpy being the old aquantiance) and it possibly being her undoing and the dwarves looking for fairy dust in the mines and Belle being trapped in the mine car are all connected.

I like the idea of Grumpy being the old acquaintance, that makes much more sense than it being Smee IMO.

I’m thinking Hook isn’t in SB yet. I’m not sure how Smee ended up in SB if Hook didn’t, but trying to get to Rumple to find a way to bring Hook to SB could be Smee’s motivation to go after Belle.

Emma was an idiot all episode long. Snow says don’t trust Cora, Emma says “hey guess what, I share a son with your daughter!” Emma is told Ogres hunt by sound, Emma shoots her gun, etc. It got real old real fast. Her attitude towards the people who actually knew what they were talking about made her look like a brat.

Emma doing all that, really showing her short comings just really empowered Snow for me, it had me going kind of nuts like “listen to your mom!” Considering she’s in a land she’s never been and is used to being able to handle herself it’s not unreasonable that there would be some growing pains. For her to finally get that she needs to defer to Snow and why she sent her away in the wardrobe and that scene in the nursery made the episode for me. That, the Charming fight scene where he totally lays out all those knights, plus when Snow go Legolas on that Ogre all really made this episode great for me.

I’m far more forgiving of Emma being an idiot in FTL than I am of her being an idiot in our world.

All her life she’s only had herself to rely on, not taking anyone else’s advice at face value. She just killed a dragon last week, girlfriend thinks she’s invincible right about now. They had to show her being a disobedient punk so they could have the moment with the ogre where she had the reality check that, uh, yeah, maybe mum does know best, considering they’re in her world right now. Emma may have kicked many ogre’s butts in our world, so she was cocky, and needed a good slap to make her realise that she needed an attitude adjustment. I thought they pulled that off really well.

The stuff with Snow and Emma in the nursery was beautifully done and so heartbreaking. A real turning point for their relationship, and for Emma as an individual as well.

I think this plot device of sending Snow and Emma to the remains of the EF is excellent; itโ€™s like sending a dysfunctional family on a 30-day wilderness boot-camp to work out their issues โ€“ except there are ogres to speed up the process.

    Nice analogy! ๐Ÿ˜†

Maybe she made him take her last name instead? Or maybe her last name wasn’t actually Mills, just because her father was a Miller, and it’s just coincidence that she ended up with a guy called Mills?

I just posted this in spoiler tags in a thread on the regular forum, but wanted to mention it here too.

The thread was about Cora’s powers, and whether or not Lancelot is really dead. I wondered if Cora can only shape shift into being someone she’s killed, or someone who’s heart she’s stolen. Then I remembered that Regina was apparently gonna be seeing Daniel’s ghost. Could that somehow be Cora appearing as Daniel in SB?

Edited to add another thought I had just now reading another thread. Maybe those ashes of the wardrobe that Cora collected wouldn’t have enough power to transport her, but would have enough power so she could astral project, in a sense. That could be how she’d appear briefly as Daniel’s ghost in SB, even if she’s not yet in town.

Edited again to add that maybe she doesn’t appear as Daniel’s ghost at all, maybe Regina actually sees Cora? I know that Barbara isn’t in the cast list in the first post of this thread, but perhaps it’s not a complete list yet?

I’d love it if she was lying about Lancelot being dead, because I’d love to see more of him. Dunno that she’d bother to keep him alive though. Wonder if she can only shape shift into someone she’s killed…or someone’s heart she’s stolen?

Oh man, that comment above just gave me a new thought…you know how Regina's gonna think she's seeing Daniel's ghost in SB?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

If she can’t shape shift into being someone who’s still living, then that would rule out her being able to pose as Snow, or Emma, or any of the major characters in SB, so they wouldn’t be able to abuse that power from a storytelling standpoint. Though, even if she can shape shift into the living, there’s no guarantee that her magic would work the same in SB anyway.

Well I think they’re incorporating Lancelot and Kind Arthur as a folk tale like Mulan not as part of actual realty.

That’s what I think too. There are many legends about Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, The Round Table, Merlin, etc, but they’re largely just folklore. From Arthur’s wikipedia page: “The details of Arthur’s story are mainly composed of folklore and literary invention, and his historical existence is debated and disputed by modern historians.”

Our world has been described, for the sake of this show, as a world without magic. So how can stories that involved a wizard named Merlin have actually happened in our world’s history? Therefore, they qualify as stories and folktales that happened in another world, even though they’re known in ours, the same way all the fairytales came to be known in our world.

It’s similar to how they used King Midas. Again, a character who is said to have existed in our world, but his story is the thing of mythology, so they can pass him off as having existed in a different world, not really ours after all.

Soon as I heart those heartbeats, I knew there’d be debates online about whether it was actual hearts, or just a sound effect for dramatic effect. ๐Ÿ˜†

    @Mike wrote:

From what weโ€™ve seen of that crypt to date, I don’t think one can hear the sound of heart beats when they go down into the crypt. By the expression on Henry’s face when he stares at the wall of vaults, and by the fact that he has read the book, I believe the sound was an indication to us (the audience) that Henry understands what is in those vaults.

That’s what I think as well, it was just a sound effect.

If there were still a whole lot of magical hearts in that vault, Regina would have used them when she needed the power to go back for the apple, instead of scrounging around for a few trinkets that may or may not work. I think Graeme’s heart was the only one still in there.
