Since we saw a snippet of August conversing with Mother Suprior, the Blue Fairy’s SB counterpart, I think that she may have her memories of FTL in tact. She is, after all, the original magical being, so it’s entirely possible she preserved her own memories from the effects of the curse via a spell. I think she may have sent August to our world with the intent of helping him protect Emma and also of assisting in breaking the curse.
Yup, that’s what I reckon.
Morraine was suggesting that people believe Blue Fairy to be the most powerful in the land, more powerful than Rumple, so I could totally buy her still having her memories in Storybrooke.

If August is actually Pinocchio, he could have been talking to the Blue Fairy about finding his father Gepetto.
They could have discussed both Geppetto and Rumple/Bae.
If August is Pinocchio, and if Mother Superior has retained her memories, then they both know and remember Geppetto. If August wants to talk about his dad, and how rough it is to be around him again but unable to speak to him, which would be a crappy situation, she’s the only person in town he can go to about it to speak in complete confidence.
And I also think they were working together with this plan to deceive Mr Gold, or rather, August was following orders from her. When he was confronting Mr Gold, he wasn’t relishing the experience at all, so I think the only reason he was doing it was because Mother Superior gave him the task.

August knew exactly the right way to lead Mr. Gold on, what to call him, the picture of the dagger, etc. … he got that info from somewhere.
I think he got all that info from Mother Superior, who still has all her memories in Storybrooke.

I still like Bae as Peter Pan.
Me too! In fact, after this ep I don’t just think he ended up in Neverland, I really hope he did. Because if Bae landed in a strange new world, heartbroken over his father and a complete mess, I’d like to think that he wasn’t alone for long because the Lost Boys, a bunch of kids who also have no parents, took him in very soon after he got there. At least that would have eased the kid’s suffering a little bit. We shall see, I suppose.

In terms of the phone call recieient, the producers clearly want us to think that August called Henry. I know that it’s not uncommon for eleven year olds to have iPhones nowaday, but I think Regina ahs a tighter leash on him.
If Henry had a phone, he and Emma wouldn’t have needed the walkie talkies. I think the phonecall was to Mother Superior.

So if Bae went to a land without magic, presumably America (since that is where the curse brought them), then how would he have lived for centuries to this point?
I need to re-watch this, because on the other forum I read, everyone except for one person was talking as though Bae ended up in our world, but that’s not what I remember hearing. Didn’t Blue Fairy tell Bae that Rumple’s curse was specific to FTL, so going to another land would render his curse void? I don’t recall her specifying that it would take them to a land without magic, just a land where Rumple’s specific magic would no longer work.

ParticipantUmmm, what’s the most PG way to explain the dirty meaning of “got wood”. LOL Let’s just say…when a guy gets…excited, so to speak. đŸ˜‰ Though they’re just using the term to drop the general hint that he was once made of wood and/or maybe even that his leg is turning back into wood.

I read somewhere that this was a real scar the actor had. I have no idea if that is true or not though.
Found a non-Once shot that shows it:

ParticipantOf course it’ll bring to mind how the character appeared as a child, but how is that supposed to have a detrimental effect, or ANY effect, on the adult version of the character in our world? When I look at Mr Gold, I don’t imagine him dressed like the rockstar pimp he was in FTL, I just appreciate his dapper, Storybrooke style.

You talk about peeling back the layers of an onion, but if you do that you end up with nothing in the middle. But with Mr. Gold you keep hitting more substance. It’s more like there’s candy inside the onion!
Love that quote. LOL

As if I wasn’t already impatient enough for the new ep.
spoiler: IN the preview spoilers they show a TODO dog… but those hints are all there to throw us off ( in my opinion) Writers / creators along with coming up with the scripts must put a lot of thought into how to throw us off track….. AFTER ALL who would watch a show when they can figure out all the story a head of time….. too predictable.

You mean the paperweight? It’s a sitting donkey. In one of the previews there’s a great shot of it when Mr Gold picks it up. That’s a hint for Pinocchio, who turned into a donkey at one point. There’s no doubt they put lots of stuff in the show that is potentially just to throw viewers off and keep us guessing, but if the writer actually specifically says, “This thing is a direct hint,” I doubt it’s gonna be a red herring to throw people off.

ParticipantDon’t have a clearer pic, just figured if they’re showing them on the bike with the road sign in the background, then we see them at a new location we haven’t seen before, that suggests a roadtrip out of town. And he appears to be showing her the newspaper article when they’re there, so my guess is that’s the place she was found, which had to have been outside Storybrooke.
We’ve now seen August telling someone on the phone that they need to accelerate the plan. Taking Emma to the place she was found and spelling out to her exactly what happened and who she is would be the most effective way to do that.

Knowing how OUAT takes traditional fairy-tale characters and adds some extra spice to them, I think that there is a good chance they could do some cool things with grown-up Pinocchio. If the writers can transform a little damsel in distress like Snow into a fire-cracker princess, surely then can transform a former puppet into a fighting hero.
Exactly! If he’s Pinocchio, the writers have taken the character everyone already knew of a puppet boy and have built him a whole new life beyond that, so you can’t really judge this new version of Pinocchio based on the old version IMO.

I think he is both Pinocchio and the boy who found Emma.
Ditto.

ParticipantThat pic of Snow standing with her hands up, could that be the same barn from Stable Boy? Looks like an open barn door and hay on the ground. And the other shots of her and Regina look like the same setting as that ep too.

Also, if Emma realizes August is Pinocchio, she may have some questions for Dr. Hopper/Jiminy Cricket.
Good point!
