ParticipantJMo actually explained this last year on Cannes, that Neal only had 2 options: Get Emma or die, bc with him alive in any form, emma would not be able to move on with anyone and he needed to pay for his sins bc he betrayed Emma 2 times( one with the jail thing and the other when he didnt came to Sb after the curse was broken)
That’s a bit of a downer on so many levels.
1. That a couple that have separated can’t successfully co-parent their child because it is literally “together or not at all”.
2. That a woman can’t move on from her ex emotionally so long as he walks the earth, he has to die so she can get over it.
3. That not searching out your ex for whatever reason is the worst sin in the world.

ParticipantI think the title could be about what children learn from their mothers. Regina is always wary about turning into Cora. Or perhaps Zelena actually gets a taste of what it was like growing up with a mother like Cora.

ParticipantI don’t think that Pinocchio will turn back into August. I think Regina and Emma will successfully extract a memory using magic (a la Dumbledore and the pensieve from Harry Potter). Perhaps August’s memories are deeply buried in the far-reaching corners of Pinocchio’s mind, so despite the fact that he doesn’t remember them, they’re nevertheless accessible using magic. I think that August will simply appear in a flashback from S1 time-frame, and/or before he ever came to SB.
I agree. If they actually bring back August, then they run the risk of him talking about Neal since August was very pro-SwanFire before he died, and A&E can’t have that, can they?

ParticipantPerhaps Maleficent considers that the deal still stands. The QoD survived so Rumple is still obligated to help them get their happy endings and she was just reminding him of that? “And you never go back on a deal” is also challenging Rumple. He’s talked the talk but can he walk the walk.

ParticipantPowerless doesn’t mean any less dangerous and Regina herself threatened to kill Zelena if she put a foot wrong. Belle is the only one who can call Rumple out on what he did without being hypocritical. Regina too to a lesser extent only on the grounds that Zelena’s family. Anyone else hasn’t got a leg to stand on.

ParticipantIf his death was story driven i would maybe almost agree, but his death wasnt story driven, and the fact they seem to want erase everything related to Bae/Neal at this point i think,( sad part i`ve been seen many people online starting to say the same), is case to wonder in which epi they will retcon who is rumple son and who is henry father
I don’t get why, if push came to shove and they really wanted to end Swanfire, 1) why they couldn’t have had Emma actually make a choice between the two men and 2) why couldn’t they have de-aged Neal back to Baelfire in order to save his life so that although the SwanFire portion of his story would be over, they could’ve still carried on with the Rumple and Henry aspects of Baelfire’s story. What would RUmple have done now that he’d seemingly been given a second chance with his son? What would Henry have done now that his father had no memory of him was now only two years older than him? You would’ve still had the tragedy of Neal being gone but would’ve still had the story continue with Baelfire.
Also, about Will and Anastasia, i do wonder if the could bring Ana to the main show, bc many people associated them with SF, so the newtwork simply said no, that relationship has to go, no memory of SF can exist on the show.
I was under the impression that the reason Ana wasn’t on the show this season was because of availability issues with the actress. However I have several issues with the upcoming ScarlettBeauty plot
1. Belle was on the verge of tears when she spoke about Rumple last episode which shows she is still emotionally raw about his betrayal 6 weeks after the fact. Someone who is in that emotional state is in no fit state to be throwing themselves into a new romantic relationship.
2. I just can’t shake the feeling that Hook is somehow going to have a hand in setting up ScarlettBeauty. Hook knows he’s no match physically for Rumple and he wants revenge so why not target Rumple’s “heart” again and hook Belle up with someone else. That’s the only reason I can think of why Hook and Belle are suddenly friends, Hook is going to be Belle’s “friend” and set her up with Will or pay Will to show an interest in Belle to help her move on from Rumple.
3. ScarlettBeauty gets in the way of RumBelle.
4. Will still has feelings for Ana as shown when he slept with a book page of her literary counterpart. If he is using Belle as a way to make himself feel better to get over Ana, using Belle to make a point to Ana, or is being paid by to pretend to be romantically interested in Belle even though he’s not, then he is a massive jerk and deserves to have his arse kicked.

ParticipantAgreed. Plus, if Zelena doesn’t make a reappearance, our characters would never know that Rumple killed her. We’re still waiting for that moment everyone, especially Belle, discovers the truth, which makes me think that Zelena returning as Marian was their plan all along.
Whilst I am sort of looking forward to Zelena’s return, I would be quite annoyed if all the other characters give Rumple a hard time for killing Zelena especially as none of them gave a damn that she died. They didn’t miss her, they were quite happy for her not to be around, so whilst Rumple did do wrong by killing her, it would be completely hypocritical for the likes of Snowing to turn around and berate him.
Also it’s irritating how Rumple is the only one to suffer for his misdeeds whilst other people’s bad deeds get whitewashed or trivialised.
I sorta lean with Matt that they might have been planning this from the start of their Oz arc idea. But that doesn’t mean that, subjectively, it’s a good story or that some viewers aren’t going to see it as a way to quickly clean up the ‘mess” made last season with the love triangle/OQ drama
And there is one aspect of this that no one has pointed out, so I’ll do it : this is another disturbing treatment of a POC of their show. Like Lancelot, Marian (a POC) is actually secretly a (evil) white woman.
Marian being Zelena would actually clear up some of the issues surrounding OQ unfortunately. Thing is though, if this was planned all along, why didn’t the writers give “Marian” more screen time and flesh her out so that the audience would actually care for her then be doubly shocked that she was secretly Zelena all along. Instead Marian was just an obstacle. It is kind of disturbing how POC are never around for more than a few episodes at most.

ParticipantI think the whole “Marian is really Zelena” idea came about because the audience had major issues with OQ and the writers are trying to promote OQ as “soulmates” so they’re trying to readdress the Marian issue with “It was Zelena all along” so the audience stop giving them a hard time.

ParticipantFlashback to the Stilskin Men!

#WhatBecameOfOnce?
The days when Henry was shorter than everyone else in the main cast, now he’s on the verge of towering above them all.
I’m still optimistic that Baelfire could reappear on the show in some capacity.
I actually wonder if the show is going to turn out to be a huge allegory for drugs disguised as a show about fairytales.
We have several addicts on the show:
The hard core addict who won’t give up the “magic” despite it destroying their close relationships- Rumple.
The new user who is discovering the high of “magic” after a bad childhood, had a bad experience but it was a one off, develops relationships with unsuitable men, learns to use “magic” from other long term magic users- Emma
The more casual user who can dip in and out of using “magic” as they please- Regina
The user who came from a home with a “magic-user”,originally wanted nothing to do with “magic” but began to dabble for whatever reasons, their death was “magic-related”- Neal.
It’s probably a stretch but what if you did actually watch the show with the idea in mind that you are watching a bunch of drug addicts go about their lives?
