Also, we haven’t seen how he ended up in the land of untold stories.
We don’t see it but Rumple says he banished Hyde to the Land of Untold Stories after discovering that the serum was a “failure”.
[adrotate group="5"]PxlbarrelParticipantRumple’s purpose for 3 seasons was finding his son. The whole show was based on that purpose. Once done and gone, what’s his purpose? I’ve found Rumpel’s role has been diminished since season 3 ended. It’s almost as if they don’t know what to do with him and hence you get the never ending circle of love and hate between Belle and Rumple. It’s like… We need to use them … Oh, let’s them have an argument over good and evil.
PxlbarrelParticipantI love this … Belle is Poland. Wonderful analysis.
PxlbarrelParticipantb)show that True Love relationships can come to an end if one of the people in the TL relationship changes (e.g. becoming the Ultimate Dark One, rather than just being the Dark One), or at least show the exceptional circumstances in which TL between two people can end.I have hope … because they were the couple that really drew me into the series. I do think that it’s Belle that’s changed, not Rumple…. well, maybe Rumple isn’t as evil as he was in the Enchanted Forest but he’s still evil and the same guy that Belle fell in love with. Belle changed … she first saw past the man to see the beast and then sees the real man … the original coward who can’t live without the power of the dagger. What was it that he said in an earlier season? He wanted it all? Her love and the dagger. Well, he hasn’t changed.
I think the writers missed the ship when they didn’t allow Rumple more time as a mortal, pure hearted hero. That would have been interesting to see how he would win the fickle Belle back as the man she always wanted (then rejected… sigh). But the writers made him the Dark One again too soon after he became that good man. Bet he wished he’d killed Hook with Excalibur now, eh?
Of course, a lot of my shipping and bias is because Robert Carlyle is my favourite actor in the show so … of course I said with Rumple. 😉
PxlbarrelParticipantJasmine’s interactions with Snow were nice, though the show missed a chance to open her personality up a bit and not just about believing in yourself. Like, people do have OTHER conversations!I’m not sure they do in Storeybrooke … unless it’s about Granny’s lasagna. And hey, an entire episode without a scene at Granny’s.

Since there’s no more Jeckyl…will we see our monster builder?
PxlbarrelParticipantShe must know about his “Saviour” fate since she met up with the girl Oracle … who doesn’t seem as creepy as she was in the first episode of this season.
I’m not much of a spoiler person and I understand that casting news isn’t necessarily a spoiler but one wonders how much more excited I would have been had I not already realized that Karen David was playing Jasmine. LOL At the end with the reveal, I thought … ok, anticlimatic moment for sure.
PxlbarrelParticipantCan I also say that the writing drives me insane. How can you go from last week’s poem that melts everybody’s hearts to THIS? Jane Espenson needs to write all the Rumbelle storylines because I don’t think anybody else knows how to write them.
PxlbarrelParticipantYeah, this argument seemed a little harsher than most. I get that Belle is angry but Rumple, in his rather bumbling way was only trying to protect Belle from one of his many enemies. And I probably won’t win awards for siding with Rumple in this relationship.
Here’s my problem with Belle’s now hatred of the person she sees. She used to see the man behind the beast which is what endured us to this relationship but now she just sees him as evil. Last season, Rumple told her that he wasn’t going to change and that part of her liked him dark. This is absolutely true. All throughout their relationship, she has always wanted Rumple to be a good man … even going so far as to leave him in Season 4 when she discovered his deception. BUT in Season 5 when he had finally become a hero with a pure heart, she ditched him at the well where they were married. How cruel is that? He’s finally become the man she always wanted him to be and that’s the time to leave him?
And then, right after the rejection, he runs into Dark One Hook who taunts him about the dagger and how he must miss it. C’mon … Does anybody else think that Belle is the reason he was tempted again by the dark side and found a way to become the Dark One again?
And what kills me is how easily Belle forgives Hook for trying to kill HER a few times and how really evil he became as the Dark One. Rumple did sacrifice himself to save her and Bae (I doubt he thought he’d be resurrected) so did she forget that? It always bothered me that last season, when Rumple was trying to escape Merida (and Emma) that he questioned that he was never brave and Belle never brought up the part when he killed himself and his father to save the two people he loved.
Yeah, I am behind Rumple on this … Belle is confusing. And at least Rumple is trying, his own ham handed way, of keeping communication open with her.
