Also, there have been tons of interesting theories we never have time to mention down at the forums. So it would be nice to give everyone there the credit they deserve and discuss some of those theories.

You mean like my theory that David and Regina end up getting together by the end of the season??? Does Regina throwing herself at David count??? 😆

Yay!! I’m so excited! I was trying to figure out what I was going to do to get through the hiatus. I was having nightmares of the Forum going “cold” and having no Podcasts so I am game for anything. Cast interviews would be super! I’m up for rewatching episodes for character discussion (I tend to randomly rewatch episodes or portions of episodes to go back and do research or refresh my memory anyway).

Can’t wait to see what you decide to do!

How funny . . . there are potentially NO suitable parents for Henry in SB. Off to Boston he
    goes . . . 😆

I just had a funny thought. After everything they have been through in SB so far – it could be a happy moment when she realizes that MM is Snow White who is really . . . her mother (yay, my mom is so sweet!) and then she will turn to David and realize . . . oh crap, the not so bright guy over there is my dad???

Personally I LOVE Rumple but some of the things he does – YIKES. Not good to be watching the show with your 10 year old when Rumple turns a guy into a snail and squashes him and then have your 10 year old yell “COOL!!” Oh. No. No. No. So very NOT cool.

But I think this is really what is so fascinating about the character for me – I don’t think I have ever had a character on a show before where one moment I LOVE him and am crying for him and the next I am cringing and feeling like Mother of the Year for allowing my child to watch the hideous acts he is performing on screen. He is one seriously messed up character, yet I love him anyway.

Someone else mentioned what it really comes down to for me was well – it’s the hope for Rumple’s redemption. We get to see flickers of this hope, in some episodes more than others – the last episode gave us some ‘three steps forward two steps back’ kind of progress. But I also agree that for Rumple it can’t just be about his own redemption – he has done too much damage to himself and allowed damage to be done to others by having Regina enact the curse for it to be only about himself. For some reason I keep thinking that at some point (if he hasn’t already) he is going to identify with the part of Regina that was once good and he will become determined to redeem her as well. I actually think that it would be more meaningful if his act of self-sacrifice happened in the pursuit of Regina’s redemption than in his own redemption or in trying to find Bae or save Belle.

I agree that technically Bae was Rumple’s price for desiring magic and power (even though I hope they are reunited) so while it is noble that he has made it his life’s work to find him, he has done it at the expense of EVERYONE else by allowing Regina to enact the curse. So finding Bae was really more of a selfish act now that I really think about it. And while I also hope and pray that he and Belle somehow end up together – it was really his fault that they couldn’t be together. Bummer that he was convinced she was dead, it will be nice when he knows she isn’t but still he has a lot more to work toward than just being accepted by Belle again.

I find that very strange – and I say that even though I’m not really all that concerned with who he called on the phone. But the way he talked to the person on the phone did NOT sound at ALL the way he has EVER talked to Henry before nor did it sound the way he spoke to Henry AFTER the phone call. He always speaks very cryptically to Henry but you can always tell he is speaking to a child. It sounded as if the person he was speaking to on the phone was an adult who understood his personal reasons for needing to move things along faster; someone who was very familiar with August. And when he spoke to Henry outside of Gold’s pawnshop Henry didn’t understand why they were doing what they were doing which seems inconsistent with the person he had spoken to on the phone. And August acted like he was surprised by Henry’s response – as if they were still getting to know each other because they had only recently met.

I hate to bring this up because I know it was mentioned before as a possible theory for August’s identity, but if Jane Espensen is telling the truth what if there is an adult version of Henry somewhere out there?? That is the only way I can even begin to believe that August was speaking to Henry like that on the phone.

The criminal history is a juvy record and should not even be seen by the judge so that should not be taken into consideration at all.

Just as an FYI . . . when it comes to adoption (and that would be what would have to happen – Emma would have to adopt Henry even though she is his biological mother) there is no such thing as a juvy record not being taken into consideration. Every member of a household that an adopted child will be living in must undergo a criminal background check – including minors (over the age of 12 I believe – age may vary by state), and ALL criminal history must be disclosed. It’s been awhile since I went through all of this but I believe they even get into whether you have ever been arrested for something regardless of whether you were convicted. So if Emma is still living with MM, MM will have to undergo a criminal background check including fingerprints, etc. and she would have to disclose that she was arrested for murder.

Also as far as I can tell I don’t believe MM’s apartment meets the requirement for suitable housing for a child. There are square footage requirements which I’m guessing they would meet but I don’t think they have any actual bedrooms. A bedroom would be required for Henry, especially since MM lives there. No way is a social worker allowing a male child to sleep out in the open with a non-family member of the opposite sex present (because they wouldn’t know she really is a family member).

It’s amazing the hoops you have to jump through for adoption. We were adopting from a foreign country and they have body weight limits so that people who are overweight can’t adopt. You also have to go through physical exams and they are very picky about any kind of medical conditions and medications that are taken. If you are taking an anti-depressant, even if you have a note from a physician saying your depression is completely under control, you are out of luck – there is no way you can adopt from many foreign countries.

You also need to have at least 3 personal references from non-family members who have known you for a certain amount of time (in our state I think it was 5 years). Given Emma’s history of not putting down roots and not making friends I doubt she could come up with these.

I love that he “broke” in his counseling session with Archie. I have to say that I am surprised that they had him be as detailed as he was with him – I thought he was going to be more cryptic with him to the point that Archie wasn’t going to be exactly sure what he was talking about.

So although Archie can’t reveal to anyone what they talked about, I do think it is interesting that someone in SB knows about a side to Gold that no one else even knows exists. I wonder if that will somehow be helpful in the future. This was an interesting twist to things. It allows Gold to maintain his reputation but also allows someone to see his vulnerable side.

I don’t find it coincidental that the person who knows more of Gold’s “real” personality is also the person who would be the one who would most likely be dealing with Belle if she is ever found. I now wonder if Gold will be continuing his sessions with Archie or if that was just a one time thing.

Although I can buy into the theory that Bae is Henry’s father, I can also find a way for Bae to be Jefferson.

What if after Bae went through the vortex he started to look for a way to find his father just like Rumple started looking for a way to find Bae?

Even though Bae didn’t like magic because of what his father had become, he might look at it differently if he had been separated from him – after all, he made a point about telling the Blue Fairy he didn’t want his father put in jail, he wanted to be with him. And he accepted the Blue Fairy’s magic to escape with Rumple.

He did also go through some kind of vortex or worm hole type of thing to another land, so maybe he learned a way to travel to different places via a hat trying to find his way back to Rumple

At some point he got married and had Grace but as a result of his magic he lost his wife – which reminds him of how he lost his father as a result of Rumple’s magic so he stops using magic. Also, at some point he gets mixed up with the EQ. Remember when she goes to his house she makes some kind of sarcastic comment about how you never turn your back on family or something. Could that actually be a reference to Rumple not following through on their deal?? Maybe the EQ rescued Jefferson from something he had gotten himself into but in exchange he couldn’t be reunited with his father.

Jefferson is so into his little girl which is how I would imagine Bae would be with his child after everything that happened with Rumple. Think about it – Bae lost his mother, his father, and his wife – the only thing he would have left would be Grace, so he would be incredibly protective of her to the point of obsession. Yet he would be sensitive to her feelings, unlike Rumple was to his, which is why he refused to take her away from her SB parents – the only reality she knows, because he knew that would mess her up.

I wonder if Jefferson’s wife was Morraine – I thought she looked a bit like Grace (in fact at first I thought it WAS Grace).

They did cut the scene with August and Jefferson talking in Hat Trick so it could be that they are both working together. It could have been Jefferson who drew the picture of the dagger for August.

I think that Rumpel became more powerful because he made more people afraid of him. I don’t think that his actual magical power became more. I think that he was able to get more stuff by making people afraid of him with his power and by doing his bad deals with people.

I would also say that he became more powerful because he became more experienced in making deals with people. I think he became extremely good at reading people and giving them what they wanted. Because of this, his reputation of being able to deliver what people wanted grew which made him an extremely powerful person – he could ask for whatever he wanted and people would give it to him. Over time I’m sure he also became more knowledgable of magic in general – since he was hundreds of years old he had plenty of time to try to figure out spells and such.
