I’ve heard two scenarios here that I can get comfortable with if they end up taking Henry away from Regina. First, I like Phee’s idea that perhaps the adoption wasn’t even legal which would mean that technically Emma is still Henry’s mother. Second, I like weedith’s suggestion that as part of Regina’s redemption she could realize that she is not capable of loving Henry the way he deserves to be loved and she could choose to give Henry back to Emma – which in itself would be a gesture of her love for him. Or you could end up with a combination of both.

Now, obviously if Regina ends up doing something truely horrific in SB and is caught and ends up having Henry taken away from her because she is deemed not to be a fit parent that also makes it possible for Henry to end up with Emma.

I wonder what is really going to happen if that comes to pass though. Henry complains that Regina just pretends to love him but at the end of the day he is still just a kid. I can’t imagine that being taken away from the woman who has raised him from infancy isn’t going to be traumtic for the kid in at least some kind of way. Regina was raised by a psychopath, yet right up to the point that Cora ripped Daniel’s heart out she still seemed to want her mother’s love and approval – and she was an adult at that point.

Yeah, I know – I have issues with how Disney handles those things. My point was that it will be interesting to see how they handle the issue of Regina and Henry. Even in a Fairy Tale Television scenario it will be a bit odd to have them suddenly take Henry away from Regina – he’s been her son for 10 years and even if she isn’t a warm and fuzzy mommy, she has still raised him. Turning him over to Emma, who really isn’t a mom at this point just seems strange.

Unless you think SB Henry is actually Henry, Regina’s father reincarnated. Apart from the weird “I’m my own grandpa” aspect, that could have some interesting ramifications. Could it be Henry, the father trying in a weird way to save his daughter? He did seem to love her right to the end, even when he knew she was considering killing him. Or is Henry, the father seeking revenge on his daughter for murdering him? Since Henry’s heart was used to enact the curse, maybe his essence somehow made it through to the new world.

I’ve never actually thought about it that way before but I have actually thought that somehow Regina’s father is going to be involved in all of this. I have actually wondered if August is somehow Henry Sr. But since you have written it out here, I actually like what you said. It could make sense that Henry is actually Regina’s father reincarnated. It could make sense that Regina killed her father, the thing she loved most, to enact the curse that would leave a void in her soul that could never be filled. In my theory I think that Rumple wanted to use the curse to end all magic so what if he knew she would use her father’s heart and then somehow was able to bring it back to her again in the form of a child that she would love all over again as “the thing she loved most.” Remember right before Regina ripped her dad’s heart out, he said something like “We could be happy together. We could start a new life together and you could be happy again.” Well, if Henry is her reincarnated father than that is exactly the chance she got when Gold brought him to her. I have always thought that Gold wants to give Regina the chance to redeem herself as well. That would be the perfect way to let her do that. And it would create a bit of a loophole in the curse. If she still has the heart of the thing she loves most – does she really have a void in her soul that can never be filled??

I totally forgot about the “Dearies!!!” I’ve started doing that too!! I’ll randomly call someone “Dearie” at the end of a sentence and won’t even realize it until after I’ve done it.

Oh, and when I see or hear about someone doing something really stupid I call it a “Davidism” or “having a David moment” – which can also be like “having a senior moment”, so it can be related to a brief moment of memory loss (where the heck did I put my keys? “I’m having a David Moment”) or related to the amount of air in one’s head.

Also, on “Castle” a few weeks ago there was an episode where a woman was killed in a hotel room and the hotel room had the same forest theme wallpaper as Granny’s Diner. It was so distracting – everytime the wallpaper was in a scene I kept pointing it out to my husband. These are things I wonder – did they have more wallpaper left over after they designed Granny’s so they used it up to cut costs?? They are both shows on ABC so that would make sense. Or is it purely coincidence? But it seemed an odd choice for hotel decor. Hence, you see the reason for my distraction.

Men in kilts. Lately I’ve noticed a lot of pictures of men in kilts. They must be from Scotland. Which reminds me of Robert Carlyle . . . you see where I’m going with this . . .

If everyone suddenly remembers at one time I don’t think it will be a big deal – it will be kind of like FTL has just moved to a new location. But the interesting thing will be if people start to remember one by one – that could have some interesting consequences . . . kind of like how Gold beat Moe French with a cane. Moe has no idea what Gold is talking about or why he is getting beat with a cane – it would have been a very different scenario if he had remembered that he had a daughter (assuming of course that someone let him know that he supposedly locked her in a tower and torchered her) that had chosen to live with Rumple.

You bring up a good point about Henry. Where does he fit into all of this once everyone remembers? I will be interested to see how they handle that situation. As a stepmom I have issues with how Disney always makes us out to be evil and hate our stepkids. But this whole adoptive mother as evil and birth mother as savior is a bit much for me. Once everyone remembers are they suddenly going to have Henry be “rescued” from his evil adoptive mother – the woman who has raised him from infancy, and then given lovingly back to his biological mother – the woman who gave birth to him in a prison, gave him up for adoption, and then impulsively decided to stay in his town after he tracked her down on the internet??? That’s kind of weird to me. Regina is Henry’s mother and that won’t change even if everyone remembers who they are.

This is one of the reasons I think that Rumple/Gold’s plan is do away with all magic completely, the whole “all magic comes with a price” idea. There is really no easy way to deal with any of this in SB without doing away with magic. It’s one thing to remember who you are and what happened to you if you have the ability to use magic but entirely another if you remember and don’t have magic – then it’s really just . . . life.

It could actually be really interesting to see how the characters would handle themselves without magic. They would have all the same grudges and alliances but they would have to find new ways to deal with everything – it would be kind of like a soap opera on steroids.

The only possible connection I could see for them to bring the Wizard of Oz into the story doesn’t seem to make sense at this point in the show. The Wizard of Oz ended up being a fraud. After all that time Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and Lion were skipping down the Yellow Brick Road the Wizard of Oz ended up being just some normal guy who who told them all that they already possessed everything they needed to fulfill their destiny. And after talking to this wise old fraud Dorothy realized that she didn’t need to go looking for adventure because it was right there in her own backyard. It seems as if at this point in the series Emma has yet to discover who she really is or what her role is supposed to be so I don’t see her needing someone to give her advice that she already possesses everything she needs to fulfill her destiny. And Emma didn’t go off looking for adventure, Henry went and got her. Maybe if at some point she feels like she isn’t up for the task, or something and decides to run away I could see them bringing in the Wizard of Oz storyline but it just doesn’t seem to fit here. Maybe the dwarves can double as munchkins.

The favor is such a strange thing because i just don’t see how Gold gets her to say yes to something important. Especially in a place with no magic. There is no cost to Emma saying no to him right? And Gold didn’t ask Emma to get him out of his charges for beating up Belle’s father, he asked Regina, and i think if he had asked Emma she would have just said no.

I just wonder how that is going to play out because i think that Gold is going to have to force Emma to do that favor. Like no choice. Like he will ruin someone else if she doesn’t do what he says. There has to be some sort of threat, in my opinion.

I think Rumple knows exactly the kind of person he is dealing with in Emma and he knows exactly what he can and cannot get her to do. He never would have asked Emma to get the charges dropped for beating Moe French because she would have said no. I believe “his request” is going to be more of a symbol of her trust and belief in him. So obviously he couldn’t ask her to get the charges dropped because she saw him beating the man with his cane.

So far Emma has seen that Gold is successful in using “alternative” methods to get his desired outcome and she has agreed to allow him to use those methods to get the outcome she wanted in the MM murder trial situation. As far as we know, nothing bad really happened (we don’t know what happened to Kathryn yet). Up until recently Emma and Gold have just been dancing around each other trying to figure each other out (although I suspect he knew exactly what she was all about and was just playing the part). Then Emma went to Gold and asked him for the favor of helping MM and will learn to trust him in the process of figuring out what happened. Once that happens I think Gold will make his request and she will have no problem going along with it at all.

I think even the other “shady” dealings that Gold has been involved in in SB have all been a part of his plan, and he has in reality been the one trying to bring back the happy endings while giving Emma time to get used to everything. Think about Ashley. He made this big production about trying to take Ashley’s baby away and specifically went to Emma for help in tracking Ashley down knowing that Emma would be sympathetic to Ashley and would not want Ashley to give her baby away. He knew that Emma would do anything to let Ashley keep her baby. And all he requires in order to let Ashley keep her baby is a favor from Emma??? And, not only does Ashley get to keep her baby, but shortly thereafter Sean proposes to her. He also tells Emma who he sold the compass to in True North which results in Hansel and Gretel’s dad deciding to take them on instead of letting them be sent away to Boston. I think that just like you can argue that almost every story in FTL somehow has Rumple tied to it, in SB you can also somehow find Gold tied to the happy endings that have happened (or are in the process of happening in SB).

hjbau I know that you aren’t a big fan of the Rumple is going to be redeemed fandom so I can understand why Gold’s favor doesn’t make a lot of sense in SB if your opinion is that Rumple/Gold is going to end up being just as evil or more evil than Regina/EQ. If I look at it from that perspective it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me either and I agree that the only thing I could see him doing would be to make some kind of threat to her which really isn’t a favor at all then. And if that was his plan he never would have had to make the deal with Emma about Ashley and her baby in the first place, he could have just taken the baby knowing that he could force Emma to do whatever her wanted her to do anyway. Doesn’t it seem strange that he is allowing Happy Endings to occur? Do you think he would allow Happing Endings to occur but then put Emma in a position where he would need to threaten her after he has proven himself by helping her with MM in order to get her to do his favor? Even if I try to look at it from a perspective of Rumple/Gold being evil I can’t make any sense out of what has been going on in SB. It seems like there would need to be someone in SB who had to be helping Emma along behind the scenes all this time since she was clueless even if she did have magic.

My husband and I were at a restaurant last night and this guy at the bar with his girlfriend looked EXACTLY like Graham – I mean exactly. I couldn’t stop staring at the guy. Even my husband agreed with me. I’m sure his girlfriend was thrilled that I was staring at him – and I was tempted to go tell him the reason I was staring. But then I decided that most normal people aren’t as obsessed with the show as I am. Unfortunately I decided that the girlfriend would probably draw the line at me pulling out my phone and taking a picture or I would be able to post it here to show you that Sheriff Graham is alive and well in Indianapolis, Indiana . . .

Also, my sister in law is pregnant and just found out she is having a boy and is deciding on names. They already have a three year old boy named Easton and they need a boy name that goes well with that. I thought of “August” but didn’t want to be obvious so I cleverly asked my 10 year old “Didn’t your dance teacher name her new baby something that started with an ‘A’ or something?” and he said “Yes, August.” My sister in law doesn’t watch OUaT but said “OMG, I actually have ‘August’ on my list.” I thought to myself “Thank Gods” And then I went on and on for like an hour about how I thought August was the PERFECT name for my new nephew and sounds great along with Easton. Now we’ll find out August is the spawn of satan or something. I don’t care, he has nice eyes and looks good in leather. That seems to be a requirement on the show.

And accents. Especially Scottish accents. Not that I didn’t hear them before OUaT, but now as soon as I hear a Scottish, British, or Australian accent I immediately think of OUaT.

Clocks that don’t work. I helped my mother in law redecorate her guest bathroom. I found this very interesting wooden picture that is also a clock, it’s very unique and cool. Only it doesn’t work – she’s all concerned about this and is trying to find someone who can fix it; my point is that no one goes into the bathroon to find out what time it is. I’ll leave this one for you to figure out, we have a very strained relationship – the clock worked when I found it at the store, she got it home, put it on the wall and then it STOPPED WORKING . . . I moved the hands to 8:15. It is always 8:15 in my mother in law’s guest bathroom. They don’t watch OUaT.

My 10 year old just told me that at school sometimes someone will forget their homework or will have forgotten to finish a part of their homework and the teacher will say “I’ll tell you what, I’ll make you a deal . . .” and of we all know who this reminds him of!

I think that we might have been focusing too much on the specifics of the physical aspects of Kathryn’s heart. I think the more important thing is going to be how Emma is going to respond to the fact that Kathryn is still alive after she received DNA confirmation that the heart was Kathryn’s. Assuming that she will continue down her current path of beleiving that Regina was setting MM up – I think that she will assume that Regina used her connections as Mayor to doctor the results, even if it was actually Gold who, by whatever method was responsible for whatever happened to Kathryn. I don’t think Emma is at a place yet where she will actually believe that it was really Kathryn’s heart – even if it was. The next option is that Gold will say something that will hint to Emma that he had something to do with the heart and she will assume that he doctored the test results – although he could really be implying that he actually did something much more extreme that she isn’t ready to know about. But I would think that since Emma has now read at least parts of the book (and assuming that she has read parts that describe people having their hearts ripped out – you would think she would have wanted to read about Graham’s story, right?) she would again start to think that it’s odd that there are so many similarities to what goes on in SB and what is described or pictured in the book.
