ParticipantIs there is Fairy Tale character that ever got drunk and had a bad outcome? I haven’t gone through and re-read all the Fairy Tales like a lot of you have – and some of the Fairy Tales are very different in their original versions than they are in the well-known Disney versions. I just wonder because of the water thing with August. He made this big thing about buying Emma a drink which made both Emma and the audience assume it was going to be an alcoholic beverage and it ended up being water from a well. And then at Granny’s he ordered a water. So I wondered if there was a character that had a bad experience with alcohol as part of his (or I guess, potentially, her now) story. Or maybe a character who made a point to never drink alcohol in the first place??

ParticipantI love the Mad Hatter idea because the thing that bothered me about MM breaking out of jail with the key was – where was she going to go??? It’s not like she can leave town. Everyone knows who she is and everyone knows she’s the murder suspect. There are only so many places she can hide and I’m guessing that Regina would hire other people to look for her because she would say that Emma didn’t do her job if MM broke out of jail. But if the Mad Hatter left the key and kidnapped Emma then things look very different.

ParticipantThe whole “Mary Margaret’s past” thing actually might make sense now. When Emma told MM that she believed she was innocent and that she believed that Regina was setting her up while MM was in jail, the way MM said “Why would she do that to me?” seemed really odd to me. I had the feeling that they were going to have MM start to remember her FTL life because it didn’t seem like MM and Regina had had any past interactions that would make Regina want to set MM up for murder in her Storybrooke life (she would only want to make her life miserable because of her FTL life). But if they don’t want MM to start to remember her FTL life yet, it would make sense that they might have to come up with some kind of Storybrooke “past” between MM and Regina that would make Regina also hate MM to the extent that she would want to set her up. It doesn’t even have to be a “real” past since time stood still until Emma got there. It could be another “created” memory just like David’s created memories of Kathryn.

ParticipantMia – I’m with you here. Somehow Rumple was able to figure out that Snow and James’ love was strong enough to be able to, essentially, withstand any curse. And I think that’s how he figured out that he would be able to “bottle love.” So I don’t think he was lying when he said that no one could bottle love. I think he figured out that because their love was so strong, he could predict that no matter what happened to them they would end up married and with a child so he knew if he could get their DNA he could combine it in a bottle and literally bottle love by combining their DNA to “produce” love in a bottle. But I’m with you, I don’t understand how he knew that their love was so strong – he knew it better than they did! I wondered if maybe it was part of his own curse to be able to recognize true love in others because he felt that he became so unloveable – but then the whole Belle thing kind of threw me for a loop because you would then assume that he would have recognized that Belle did truely love him. Unless, I guess, he thought that the queen was using magic to trick him into believing it was really love when it really wasn’t – which I guess WAS what happened.

ParticipantI’m confused. I thought I saw something from Kitsis just a few days ago (in the same blurb about the gender switching) that said that they had full rights to everything. I assumed they were talking about the Peter Pan copyright issue discussions and were saying that wasn’t an issue. So are they now saying that there ARE copyright issues they are working through?
An article I read on-line that discussed the copyright regarding Peter Pan said that in the US the copyright issues have generally not been a problem and that Disney has been able to use Peter Pan whenever they have wanted to.
So I am completely confused now as to whether August could be Peter Pan or not. Maybe they are trying to confuse us?? I wonder, does the Peter Pan copyright also apply to the Lost Boy label? Because Bae being one of Lost Boys theory could still work if the copyright issue only applies specifically to Peter Pan.

ParticipantIf he pulls out a fork and starts combing his hair with it the next time he’s at Granny’s, I think you might be on to something darcyfarrow.
Now that I think about it – the EQ did tell Rumple she needed to talk to him about “a certain mermaid” in Skin Deep, and then she told Emma that August looked familiar . . . 😯 😮 😆

ParticipantGreat, just great. So now I have to start thinking about female characters as well. Super.

ParticipantYep, I mean romantically. As disgusting a thought as it is, I just have this feeling that it’s coming – all of a sudden Regina is being nicey nice to David – his wife just died and he thinks his ex-mistress killed her. I see Regina being the one to console him while she’s trying to set MM up. And David, of course, is too stupid (as usual) to see what is going on.
