KeymasterThis isn’t the original SW story. It’s Once’s version of it. And we’ve never seen Regina use an enchanted mirror until the Genie was put into it and then his face became the face in the enchanted mirror of the original SW story. And no, the mirror she used on Cora is completly different. That mirror is a doorway, not an enchanted mirror. It goes to WL.

KeymasterAnd as to the Genie granting Regina three wishes back in FTL, that’s kind of a moot point. He fancied that he and Regina were in love; so what he did, he did thinking they would run away together, not that she was tricking him.If she had tried to get him to grant her wishes, he would have realized that she was using him. Also, he was free. He was under no obligation to do anything for her. He had to do it willingly.

KeymasterI think Genie still had to have some magic because he became the Enchanted Mirror. None of Regina’s mirrors were enchanted UNTIL the Genie was cursed to live inside them. So I think he retains some magic. If you’ve seen Aladdin, even after the Genie is freed at the end of the movie, he is still magical. You don’t stop being a magical creature.

KeymasterThat’s a good argument, Phee, and I would buy it if they set it up like that. So, the Genie owing three wishes to Belle, for freeing him from his new “lamp, what would those wishes be?
Belle knows he can’t bring Rumple and the crew home because she has no way of knowing if they have completed their task. Adam also said at ATX that there are no more magic beans. So what if the Genie gives her a magic spell or potion that will allow her and Bae to travel to NL and find the JR6. That’s one wish. Maybe she also wishes for a weapon, an enchanted sword or something.

KeymasterTrue, KFC, but Leopold freed the Genie in Fruit of the Poisonous Tree.
Genie: I have served as Genie of the lamp for longer than you’ve been alive. Life as a Genie is not…as magical as it may appear.
King Leopold: So, you wish to be free?
Genie: More than anything.
King Leopold: Then, I know my first wish. I wish you to be free.
(The two armbands around the Genie’s wrists release themselves.)
Genie: Can it be? Am I truly free?
So isn’t he still free now in SB? The Genie only stayed with the King because he thought he might find true love at the King’s palace.

KeymasterThe purpose of a genie’s magic is to use it to fulfill the wishes of others, they can’t just go around doing any type of magic any time for any reason. He was only able to use a wish himself, to be with Regina forever, because Leopold used his 2nd wish to give his 3rd wish to the Genie to use. I would imagine that in SB, he’d have his magic back and would be able to use it to help, as long as someone wished him to do so. That could actually play into what I said before, if he’s acting like he doesn’t want to cooperate with people who he knows as being against Regina. Maybe they’ll just be able to wish for him to do stuff, and he’ll be bound to comply.
Interesting. Would they need his lamp, do you think? Pretty sure it’s in Gold’s shop…

KeymasterAmazing news! Revolution has had this talented man for too long. Honestly, I think this may even just be for a EF appearance. I see no reason to bring him back to Storybrooke. In my head, its a Belle vs Blue war, and I don’t think he’d be involved in that.
I never thought of that! Hmmm. Which storyline would he be involved with in FTL of the past? I suppose it would have to be a Regina episode. Unless he is somehow connected to PP?

KeymasterIf that was the guess why didn’t he tell Regina to grant a wish, why did she need to play him?
You mean in FTL of the past? He couldn’t fulfill anyone else’s wishes until he fulfilled the first three from King Leopold, the last of which belonged to the Genie himself. And he used that wish to curse himself into the mirror. And Regina didn’t want to run away with him, she had to play him in order to get him to kill the King and then flee without her. If he had used his magic to kill the King, he would have expected Regina to run away with him.

KeymasterAfter the 3 wishes thing, I thought he didn’t have any more power or magic since his last wish put him in the mirror so I don’t think he really would be an asset to anyone unless this is suppose to be Regina’s new guy for her.
As a genie he has the power to grant wishes, but it’s not as is he doesn’t have power in his own right. His magic doesn’t disappear when the wishes ran out. He didn’t have his powers inside the mirror, but he is no longer in the mirror, so I would wager that he has his powers back.
