Then who would have created such a cursed dagger ❓ And for what purpose ❓
My current theory is that it may have been created by PP and Tink. They needed Rumple to become the Dark One, so they created the Dark One’s Curse with the dagger and waited for it to come to Rumple as they knew it would. Rumple has to become the Dark One so that Bae leaves FTL and sets everything in motion.

KeymasterNo I think it is similar to when Rumple was dying and his name was disappearing off the dagger. Cora said that all that power would be burned off, forever lost. That’s when she announces her plans to become the new Dark One. The dagger and the Dark One are tied. If Rumple dies without the Curse being passed on, then the dagger is just a dagger and the magic is lost. If his Curse is broken with TLK then again the magic is just gone, and the dagger becomes just a dagger.

KeymasterI guess that is true. We only know the rules about the Dark One as they pertain to FTL. But I think you’re right about what Jane meant.

KeymasterThe list of things that would never have happened had Bae stayed is staggering. His departure from FTL is the impetus for everything. Think about: let’s say Bae stay with his papa. The Rumple has no need of the Curse so:
–he never meets Cora
–Cora never marries the Prince
–Regina is never born, or at least not born to Cora and Henry Sr.
–Cora never kills Ava
–Regina and Snow are never enemies
–Snow never looses her mother, the King never remarries
–Snow is never driven out into the forest where she meets Charming
–George never looses James trying to get gold from Midas
–Snow and Charming never marry because David would still be a farmer
–Emma is never born
–Henry is never bornBae leaving FTL is the most signifcent event to happen in FTL. And because of that fact, someone is behind it, someone is manipulating everything for their end goal: Henry. So PP has been planning this for a long long long long time. And he’s got helpers: The Lost Ones who check each new boy who comes to NL, Tink who is probably his second in command, and in my mind, Blue who works for PP, making sure everything happens according to plan in FTL.

KeymasterIt’s always possible that they’ll parallel the story without bringing in the characters. They do it all the time (Rumple playing a reversed Pied Piper, for instance and leading the children home). But S3 (at least the first half) is going to be all about NL and PP and adding *another* myth on top of it, like Aladdin and Agrabah, will only cause trouble. S3 is going to be more streamlined, according to A and E.

KeymasterThat quote from Aladdin..is it from the third movie? They could pull from any of the Aladdin movies, but they tend to stick with the original tale, which is the first movie that comes from the original story. Though, I agree that the story is very similar to Bae and Rumple.
As for PP: it depends on if the Shadow and Pan are the same but two separate entities which would be in line with the original myth which has Peter’s shadow being able to detach itself from Peter and cause all kinds of trouble. I don’t think Peter is dead, but he has the ability to remove his shadow and then the shadow does Peter’s bidding.
lol. We’re all just guessing at this point.

KeymasterSee I was thinking of Aladdin on being the 1st person who started this.
Why? Aladdin’s story hasn’t been brought up at all. Sydney was a genie from Agrabah, but we don’t know if he had any connection to Aladdin, so why Aladdin?
I thought this was PP
I think PP and the Dark One will have a connection somehow, but PP can’t be a Dark One because only one Dark One can exist at a time.
Is this the backstory of Snow that he was talking about the tweet
If I remember correctly, this interview was right before The Miller’s Daughter, so Jane is alluding to the connection between Cora and Eva.

If Cyrus is in SB, then he would have to be somewhere out of the way, like Jefferson’s house. And his appearance of the first time would need to be very quiet, like the woods, because a portal suddenly appearing in SB during S2 would have been a big deal. I guess that’s my issue. If he is in SB during the events of S2 then he had to come via portal and *someone* would have noticed.
Unless Cyrus is disguised as someone else to avoid recognition! He’s a powerful genie after all, and so shape-shifting wouldn’t be beyond his ability. There was also this spoiler:
TV Guide: Also look for the spin-off to feature other lands in a mash-up style similar to Once that may make you question who a past character really was.
Totally possible. That spoiler makes me think that Sydney was really Jafar after Aladdin defeated him and that Cyrus is the Genie of the Lamp.

I agree with what you both said; the only mermaid I am interested in seeing is Ariel and since they’ve set up mermaids as being in NL, then I say bring on the red hair! If they have another mermaid in NL interacting with our JR crew, they better be prepared for lots of, “but what about Ariel?!” And with what Slurpeez said: not to mention that Adam’s “great question” to the Tink and Blue question I asked would indicate that they travel between worlds naturally and know each other.
Yes, I must see Ariel at some point! I’d prefer it be in NL, which seems too cool a connection to pass up, but I certainly wouldn’t mind if we see a legit mermaid under the sea in FTL. I just want da little mermaid man (as Sebastian would say). Also, I have long believed (and have become all the more convinced thanks to Adam’s comment) that Tink and Blue are conspiring together for some greater plan. The almost gleeful look Blue had in “The Return” about sending Bae to Victorian London, suggests she knew Peter’s shadow would be searching for lost boys.
I agree! I think Blue may be the fairy representative for THO in FTL. Her job was to make sure Bae got away from his father.
