So today I realized I hadn’t been to the forums because I’ve been so busy with work and school so I go on And there’s a potential casting for Ariel? day week and month made!!
🙂 At the risk of taking away your happiness, it’s worth noting that we never found the casting call and it was probably a rumor. Though I suspect that if there is going to be a new character in the first two episodes, they casting call has to go out shortly since they begin filming in less than 2 months!

KeymasterI kind of like the idea of Tiger Lily being one of the Lost Ones. Maybe Tink too. They were both proud ladies who were sort of possessive about PP.

I think Neal came to a place where he was able to put aside his own hurt/anger to help his father who desperately needed his life saving help. Not so much for who rumple was now but more to honor who he was as a father. Neal isn’t perfect but he does have Sense of morality. I think to Neal letting his father die would be allowing himself to sink to a new low. In effect, he would be becoming someone he didn’t want to be. Also, there’s the Henry factor. Bae probably didn’t want his sons first impression or memory of him to be seeing him let his father die. Neal, unlike Rumple, seems to be able to see the bigger pictur and look at the outcome of a given action befor he acts.
I think this is true in The Miller’s Daughter, but stops being true around Lacey when Rumple began his downward spiral. In SSTR, Neal flat out tells Rumple that he hasn’t changed and that Neal isn’t sticking around SB for Rumple, but for Henry. In the days/weeks following the Cora storyline, Rumple and Bae had no further communication and interaction until Neal caught him almost stepping on Whale’s face for looking at Lacey. This is why Neal’s “death” really shakes Rumple because they parted on terrible terms. Rumple thinks he failed as a father again and this is why he goes after Henry, to honor Bae. They had one very beautiful moment in The Miller’s Daughter but it didn’t erase the centuries of hurt and abandonment. That’s going to be a S3 story, and maybe even a series long story. That hurt doesn’t just magically go away, even after a season. It will probably be a struggle for the two of them for awhile.

KeymasterYes, this news was put out maybe a week or more ago and we had lots of discussion about it over here

KeymasterIf Tiger Lily came from our world initially, then she could have been captured by the Shadow and brought to NL, except we’d have to account for the Shadow/PP sent Wendy back but kept Tiger Lily.

KeymasterHmm. I don’t know about the last part. If Regina did team up with someone like Ursula, it wouldn’t be to go after Rumple or even Snow. The focus is Henry. That is what unites them right now. I think Regina will have a whole different idea about how to save Henry from PP and that is what what will lead to conflict. I’m not saying that she isn’t upset over Cora still, of course she is. But that has been bypassed by the need to save Henry: it’s what brought them altogether in the first place.
And Regina knows that Rumple is still the Dark One. She cant do anything to him while he has his dagger."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
KeymasterThe Charmings won’t want to cause damage to NL or those being harmed, but Regina may take a different tactic. She may not have learned, at least fully, that sometimes magic isn’t the answer to everything.

I’m also toying with the idea right now that maybe Tiger Lily’s people used to happily co-exist with the merfolk, until PP and his minions took the whole of NL over, which is why the merfolk turned nasty. In a scenario like that, Ariel could have observed and even possibly interacted with the type of good people she’d be fascinated by and want to live amongst.
Actually, now that I’m thinking of it, perhaps her wanting to help “win back the kingdom” so to speak could be part of her motivation for becoming human. Maybe she’ll notice Hook and his crew and realise that they’re not friends of Pan, and she wants to join forces with them. Ah, evolving headcanon right before bedtime. I’ll be dreaming of mermaids and pirates tonight. 😉
Interesting. There is so much in NL, basically all things children create in their imagination, that A and E have a lot to potentially play with. From what I can remember the merfolk and Tiger Lily’s people never interacted, their only link was with PP. Hook and his crew (in the Disney story, not our Hook) would use Tiger Lily to try and draw PP out to fight. Following that logic, is it possible that the Natives are the ones who have allied with PP? If the merfolk were “in charge” of NL before PP arrived they could be at war with PP and Tiger Lily’s people and consequently anyone else who “invaded” NL, thus our JR crew.

After NL why would they need Hook around?
We have no idea what the state of play will be by the end of season 3, or even half way through season 3. The story may very well progress in such a way that Hook is still a vital part of it. Given the huge fan following the character has, I’d be surprised if they wrote him out of the show at any point in the foreseeable future. There are really only 2 people who know what Hook’s longterm story is going to involve, and that’s Adam and Eddy. All the rest of us can do at this point is guess.
Very very very true. Also, it’s important to remember that Hook is connected to the family has more or less integrated himself into the clan. His relationship with Bae, for instance, can be explored along side Bae’ relationship with Rumple. Also, while I personally don’t ship them, Hook does have chemistry and a connection to Emma. There is also a potential for friendship with Charming (and in the far future, Rumple).

Regina, Rumple, and even Cora are theories that are out there for Ursula. I’d sort of like for her to be someone new though. Mind you, that tongue stealing trick of Rumple’s definitely made me think of Ursula taking Ariel’s voice. Having him switch gender to play the character would be potentially comical though, which they wouldn’t want.
I really hope they don’t have Rumple play Ursula. Maybe it’s because I love the Little Mermaid a lot but I’d like a new person. And she has to call our heroes poor unfortunate souls.

KeymasterSo we did Hook and Henry post finale, but what about Regina? I’ve never been overly sympathetic to her, but her line “let me die as Regina” really hit hard. This season Regina has been accused of becoming a bit of lunatic and so over the top that it’s hard to like her at all. Did the finale change anyone’s mind about her? I am really interested to see how she acts in S3. Will she stay on the side of good? What about when the JR crew get Henry back, will she go back to fighting the Charmings? Will Regina and Snow ever be friendly?
