But I’m kinda hoping for Belle to protect Storybrooke and then start fighting for a way to get back to Rumple. She needs him almost as much as he does her. I think she’ll learn something about Neal (or possibly Henry) and that will be her catalyst to seek Rumple out, since she’s evidently willing to accept her heroic mission to protect Storybrooke and his wishes that she be out of harm’s way for the present. And I’m hoping it happens quickly because I do feel like with all the other regulars in NL or the EF, she might get forgotten about otherwise, and that would make me very very sad. (Because, yes, I’m a Belle fan. But you knew that.)
If this is completely wrong then someone please tell me. But MAP still have the medallion right? From the Wraith? Could it be used as a portal back to SB? If that happens, if Neal uses that, he’ll come through to SB and meet Belle who realizes it’s her duty to take him to Rumple. And with Emma’s hat still in SB in the car….

Maybe the mermaids are more like normal humans. They drown the pirates, cause the would think they will kill them. They are not trusting somebody from above, like the giants did. (and common, they would have reasons for it) Theya re worried about their families and lifes, except for one of course.

Right. Evil mermaids. I think a large of part of them drowning sailors is out of fear, as it was for Ariel’s father expressing concern that Ariel would be captured by a fish hook. But the mermaids of NL in PP were also just…mean.

Had they not gone through with trying to make her a regular, I think episode 207 would have been much better off continuing from where “Lady of The Lake” left off. You still could have had George take a major presence in the Storybrooke side of the episode, but the flashback could have been Snow and Charming fighting against him and taking back the kingdom. That would have been much more satisfying and would have been better suited for the plot. Meanwhile, George in Storybrooke would have tried getting his revenge in a much more interesting way than framing Ruby for a murder.
Yes the idea of taking back the kingdom really fell through. We got two sort of episodes about it (Lady of the Lake, The Cricket Game) whereas at the end of last season I thought that would be the major FTL of the past storyline.
I suppose the flaw with a show that attracts such amazing talent is that amazing talent is high in demand and hard to hang onto if you can’t offer much screen time.
I.E.: Sebastian Stan. I just hope he comes back soon. I miss Jefferson.

I read once that Colin was only supposed to be a guest star until H and K saw what he could do and decided to bump him to regular after the midseason break. And his first appearance was early on, episode 4. So if they saw it pretty early on, they might have made the revisions then.

I don’t think it did. It’s a nod to the original Rumple story.

Yes, if this is the plan (24 episodes, a two part season) then I wonder what the season will look like. They’ve established a sort of pattern with regards to “centric” episodes.
Episode 1: All the cast, no centric story
Episode 2: Regina
Episode 3: Snowing
Episode 4: Rumple
Episode 5: Free for all (Archie in S1, Regina/Whale in S2)
Episode 6: this is where it broke up (Charming in S1 and Emma in S2)So they might hold that pattern somewhat except each episode might be centered on a land or place:
Episode 1: NL of the present and SB of the present
Episode 2: Regina FTL of the past, Regina NL of the present
Episode 3: Tamara centric (leads up to her death). Gotta get her story and send the actress back to AMC for the Walking Dead
Episode 4: Rumple FTL past (his connection to NL) and Rumple NL of the present (maybe some Belle in SB)
Episode 5: Hook’s backstory in NL, Hook centric in NL of the presentThe rest I can’t picture.

I think the mermaids, for the most part, are going to be creatures who despise humans and drown sailors when they get the chance. The exception to this will be a certain Little Mermaid who loves mankind and wants to save them from her family. I just don’t know how they’ll fit into the NL storyline yet.

While I love Red, I’m really glad they brought Snow and Emma back when they did. Having it stretch out any longer might have really taxed the viewer. I’ve wondered since the finale, if Meghan hadn’t landed her new job, would it have been Ruby left in SB and not Belle? I guess we’ll never really know.
I do hope she’s around at least once a year. She’s a classic character and a fun one. I suppose you’re right. And now that we know Neal is alive, they could go ahead and announce that MRJ is joining the cast. *Hear that A and E! Make it so!*
