KeymasterYes, I watch Revenge but I never watch it live because our Podcast is more important (and at time less frustrating)
I can’t see them ever giving up a two season finale. They’d either push Revenge (where it would be slaughtered by cable, most likely) or not air Revenge at all, but a repeat of it. Hmmmm. 24 episodes would interesting.

If we really do get 12 new episodes in a row, well we’ll probably at least have one week off for the American Music Awards in November as usual, then that would be 3 more episodes in the Fall than last year. Honestly, I am all for a longer hiatus if it really helps out with the ratings.
They could make it so that the finale three episodes of the first half of the season (which will probably be big ones and work together) came right after the Music Awards.
Yes, if the longer hiatus gets us out of the 7mil/week slump we’re in, I’m ok with it. I don’t expect Once to ever be in the 12 million live viewing range again, but we could be getting 9mil/week if some changes in scheduling were made combined with more concise storytelling.

Just found the source for ABC saying how they will schedule Once this Season. It was stated by Paul Lee, the President of ABC himself:
ABC is changing things up in scheduling some of its serialized dramas. The network will air what ABC president Paul Lee called “a selected group” of dramas in two uninterrupted runs, one in the fall and one in the spring, bridged by limited series. The series that will be included in the new scheduling model include Once Upon A Time, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and likely Revenge, with others TBD. So far, the network only has set up a bridge series for Once, new adventure reality series The Quest. Lee said such bridge series won’t necessarily be all unscripted. Two cycles of 12 episodes would bring the total orders for the shows to 24, which is hard on a complex, serialized drama, but Lee indicated that number has not been set in stone. He said that the network is looking to further shake up the traditional scheduling model with “quality launches” throughout the season.

Wow. NICE FIND. Ok, so 12 epis in the fall with a long break and then 12 epis in the spring. I wonder if H and K will write 24 episodes in stead of 22.

I wonder, if they have that one long break in the middle of Once, would WL still be on during that time? Has anywhere confirmed how many eps WL is gonna have? Coz that could actually work, if they get people watching both shows at the same time, and then when Once is off for a while, they finish up the WL season, (which already has an established audience), just in time for Once to come back. Perhaps?
WL was supposed to have 12, but given that it’s not benched until the winter, I’m wondering if it got a full 22 episode order. It would have made sense to bridge the two halves of ONCE with a spin off. So far I can’t find anything about it.
EDIT: I just saw what Matt wrote. My main concern in the original ONCE, I really hope we can find confirmation that ABC is splitting the season. The break will kill our souls, but I think it will help the ratings.
*tries to breath* So we’d have summer…and then 11 episodes and then a longggg winter and 11 episodes but all would be back-to-back in their section at least…that’s almost 3 months with no breaks per half of the season…I guess I can try to find a way to live with that. I always knew I loved fall and spring a bit more but sheesh! Why are they doing this to me??
I know it sounds horrendous, three months without ONCE twice a year, but the hiatuses really did some damage.

KeymasterI hope you’re right Matt. I think that would help issues. Though I wish there was some sort of bridge between winter and spring (like Once:WL) was supposed to be….

KeymasterThat wold be rather taxing on RC to be in the Dark One’s makeup all the time in S3. I wonder if he’ll lose the limp though. Neverland is an island, it’s not going to be paved like SB is.

KeymasterGoing back to what Phee and I were saying:
It just occurred to me that shadows are tied to the passage of time in the sense that the angle of a shadow can tell you the time of day. So perhaps your idea of removed shadows fueling NL’s ability to prevent aging could be tied into that somehow? Obviously you don’t have to have your shadow removed in order to not age, but maybe just as long as it happens to enough people, it works for everyone?
If the shadows are being used to power the island’s magical powers to keep everyone from again, then it could also be that without your shadow you don’t age.
So my “full” theory might be: Peter has been taking the shadows of young boys in order to keep from again because the shadows are a source of “fuel” for Neverland. Time passes but people don’t age. Henry’s shadow is like the ultimate shadow, it would keep NL running forever. The Dark One’s shadow would also work and this is where Rumple’s undoing will come into play. He will sacrifice his Dark One’s self/shadow for Henry. Thus both Peter and Henry are his undoing."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl

I’m so confused. I thought the whole point of Once: WL was to be a winter hiatus show. Has that completely changed? Is it a full 22 ep order?
I am super confused about that too. I had really hoped it would be the winter hiatus show which would keep people interested in ONCE. I’m a little nervous that ABC is going to continue with the same schedule with all the breaks that, frankly, really hurt us this year.

I’m seeing some chatter in various places that the Wonderland spin off is in the “death” slot. Anyone want to comment on that? I thought putting it in the lead in to Grey’s would be huge given the cult followings of both shows.
It’s because ABC has struggled to find a good performing show in that particular timeslot for the past several years. Probably because CBS dominates that timeslot with The Big Bang Theory.
I thought TBBT wasn’t on until 9 though? Because it’s killing American Idol and Grey’s is taking small hits because of it.

Keymaster“ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND”
In Victorian England, the young and beautiful Alice (Sophie Lowe) tells a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole. An invisible cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar and playing-cards that talk are just some of the fantastic things she’s seen during this impossible adventure. Surely this troubled girl must be insane, and her doctors aim to cure her with a treatment that will make her forget everything. Alice seems ready to put it all behind her, especially the painful memory of the genie she fell in love with and lost forever — the handsome and mysterious Cyrus (Peter Gadiot). But deep down Alice knows this world is real, and just in the nick of time the sardonic Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) and the irrepressible White Rabbit (John Lithgow) arrive to save her from a doomed fate. Together the trio will take a tumble down the rabbit hole to this Wonderland where nothing is impossible.
“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” stars Sophie Lowe (“Beautiful Kate”) as Alice, Michael Socha (“This Is England”) as Knave of Hearts, Peter Gadiot (“The Forbidden Girl”) as Cyrus, Emma Rigby (“Hollyoaks”) as Queen of Hearts and John Lithgow (“3rd Rock from the Sun”) as The Voice of the White Rabbit.
“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” was written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (“Once Upon a Time”), who serve as executive producers. Steve Perlman and Zack Estrin also serve as executive producers, and the pilot was directed by Ralph Hemecker. “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” is produced by ABC Studios.
First little synopsis for the show.
I’m reading in various places that the time slot they were given is not a good one, that it’s the “death” slot. But I would have thought the lead in to Grey’s would be a great place given the cult following of both shows?
