He even blamed Henry when he got Hooked. It really is a big change.
Exactly. Bae’s death isn’t Tamara’s fault or the Charmings or Henry or Emma’s. He say it is his: “I killed my son.” 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 *sigh* I far too many feeling about this man.

Every other time we’ve seen him dealing with stuff, he passes on the blame that we know is aimed at himself to someone else–the BF, the Seer, Milah, Hook, Moe, Regina, Keith–but this time, he tells the Charmings that it’s his fault. And that he’s ready to accept the price.
So true! Ladies and gents, I do believe we have our “game-changer”.
You’re totally right! This is a big change for Rumple! And if he does come around and help save the town and then goes after Henry to save him (still thinking Bae is dead but wanting to save his son’s son) …total game changer.
This is what I think will happen with the mermaid thing: Emma will have to kill Ursula, like PC did to the siren in the lake but again I could be wrong. 😕
Maybe all the ladies team up: Emma, Snow, Belle and even Regina to take down Ursula while the boys: Rumple, Charming, Hook and Bae take down the Shadow because the two are working together.

KeymasterMore ponderings on the “curse of the mermaids” and I’m sticking with it being the traditionally held belief that mermaids drag you down to your death. Because that right there is the perfect setup for us to see Ariel save someone instead, and prove the myth wrong.
Nice. AND Bae was in the water, just sort of floating, before Hook fished him out. He could have been saving Bae from being taken by the mermaids to his death.

KeymasterMaybe the “undoing” is undoing Rumple’s desire to die for penance.

Ok. Thinking about things. If it’s NOT TLK that brings Belle back, then I want it to be Henry. I don’t know how, but Henry’s got to get to Grandpastiltskin SOMEHOW and that’s going to be a lot stronger than even being Bae’s son, considering the prophecy.
Yes. How DOES the prophecy figure into all this, now that we have a few sneak peeks? Rumple has given up on everything and seems content to die, meaning that the prophecy in which Henry is his undoing doesn’t mean anything as Rumple is ready to die.

I wonder if we are going to see the true meaning of Henry being Rumple’s undoing before the season ends or if that will still be up in the air.
I think we will see it this episode. They set it up back in episode 14 and to keep us waiting over the summer seems a bit cruel. I think it will mostly resolve itself this episode.

Didn’t we see a preview of Lacey and rumple crying in his shop?….hrmmm….wonder what follows…..Lacey is tough and might kick his butt into gear but, almost ironically, sweet and kind belle is tougher.
Yes, in two of the promos there is some sort of scene with what looks like BELLE and Rumple, given how they are acting.

Now I’m wondering how Lacey will react to this side of him. “What, you’re just gonna let me die, is that it? Mr. All-Powerful sorcerer?”
To which he responds, “I don’t have Bae and I don’t have Belle. I’ve used magic for so long that losing both of them and my death seems a fitting price.”
I do wonder how Lacey will react. She’s not evil and I can’t see her dismissing the death of his son, but I do think Keb is right that her focus will be more on herself.

You know the Charmings never said that Bae was dead but that Bae was so hurt so bad that he fell threw a port hole. I wonder if Gold will go after Henry and blame him for Bae’s disappearance since “Henry, will be Gold’s undoing” ❓
I don’t know why he would blame Henry for Bae’s disappearance since Charming told Rumple it was Tamara who shot him. Plus, Rumple seems very resigned to his own death as penance for Bae. *cue RG crying again*
I think Rumple has lost the will to live. He blames himself for what happened to both Bae and Belle. He sees that he has an addiction to magic and is thinking that the world would be better off without him. I don’t think he is going to go after Henry at this point- he seems to be at peace with the idea of dying.
I wholeheartedly agree.

KeymasterAnd I’m still on the verge of weeping over his reaction to losing Bae again. He needs hugs!
I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!
She told Rumple that HE knew she couldn’t in Lacey, though. She has control over the cursed personalities, but she can’t get rid of them. If she could, she might have reverted Rumple back in Welcome to Storybrooke because she was unhappy with how the curse was going.
Excellent point.

I’m in the middle of listening to older podcasts and watching episodes on hulu …can someone remind me if Regina can take back the curse of the new personalities? I mean, if the townsfolk need to work together and likely need rumples help, it would make sense that she’d take take it upon herself to take bake Belle’s cursed self in order to bring rumple back to HIS old self and help them survive what’s about to take place. Could it be that simple??
I don’t know if she could, but I don’t see why should couldn’t
However, I think in a season finale with so many feels, it’s not going to be that simple.
I think Rumple will bring her back through self sacrifice. After so long apart, the need to give us some sort of Rumbelle happiness."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love" -
