What is strange why did the shadow wait 6 months latter to come for Bae, that shadow should have came just as soon as Bae arrived in England not till he was with the Darlings. ❓

That is a very good question.

Hmm… Maybe the shadow cannot forcibly take anyone with it; that person must willingly go with the shadow. Just like in Evil Queen/Snow case, the poison apple won’t have the effect on Snow unless Snow willingly eats it.

The shadow tried to find Bae and found Bae even before Bae arrived at the Darlings. But the Shadow knows that Bae will refuse to go with it willingly because Bae has no interest in anything magic, so it had to wait.

When Bae was with the Darlings, the Shadow knew its chance had come. It lured Wendy and made a deal to release her by taking one of her brother. Knowing that Bae would sacrify himself for the Darlings, the Shadow now could take Bae as Bae is willing to go in place of the Darlings’ boy.

People have been proposing that the shadow could not find Bae until he gave his name to Wendy, that his name is a sort of trigger. And if he has been living on the streets for 6 months it’s very possible that he’s been lying about his name or hasn’t spoken it. He only gave his true name to Wendy because she was so kind.

Daniel said that we never saw it on the show but it was confirmed elsewhere that Bae landed in 19th century London. That makes it the 1800s still and Bae did tell Emma that if he hadn’t stopped anywhere else he’d be a couple hundred years old.

I have minor issues with this just because it looks more early 1900s which is in line with the Peter Pan stories etc, and it just…looks like early 1900s to me. But, unlike I thought before it really doesn’t specify when all of this goes down.

I think if it was the 1800s, it had to be LATE 1800s because Big Ben wasn’t built until the 1850s.

Random question about Manhattan – Neal was surprised when he found out his father was there, right? Who else was he running from at this point and will that have any consequences down the road? He was planning to stop stealing back in Tallahassee (and probably did so after what happened to / with Emma), yet he doesn’t have his name on the apartment buzzer panel and he runs at the first buzz? How did Tamara ever visit him, phone ahead and request an invite? WHY DID HE RUN IF HE DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS THEM??

Yes, this and the reveal of what was in August’s box are the two sticky points for me in Manhattan–which thus far is my favorite episode of the season. He must think someone is still after him.

Yes, the “final preparations” are one of the mysteries that stiil need to be addressed.
Still doesn’t make me think Blue wrote the book, though.
Jefferson had a whole conversation with Emma about the importance of books.
Jefferson and August were the only two ppl in SB actively trying to make sure Emma believed. No one else in SB, besides Henry, was.
I think Jefferson is who August called and said “We have to excellerate the plan”.

I agree with everything you said, except the final point because I thought H and K confirmed that he was talking to Henry (I could be wrong…)
But going back to the pictures I and Kat pointed out, Jefferson and Regina were not present for those conversations/moments so we need to come up with a way to explain their existence in the book if Jefferson wrote it.

In tonight’s podcast, it was suggested that because Neal was shot and thus between life and death, Neal could have ended up in the Wraith’s land.

In tonight’s live chat, it was suggested that Whale was a secret agent for the Home Office because he is a scientist much like Greg and Tamara who rely on science instead of magic. Thoughts?

I’m not sure because Whale does want to get back to his land to bring his brother back.

Great article. I read in an ABC press release for the latest ONCE episode that during the EST airing the Twitter #Once tag or just Once in general was one of the most talked about TV shows. I’d love to see Neilsen readapt to this.

    😯 Excellent theory!!!! ❗

I agree. The reveal of what was in the box was my one critique of Manhattan and if it had a deeper meaning then I’ll be happy.

We desperately need a Blue backstory. I’m hoping when we get it, we also get the Book story.
