If Rumple went to NL for the squid ink then why did Regina? We know she has a certain mermaid problem, but what caused it and why go to NL? What did she need there?

What other things did Rumple suggest when he was talking to the Blue Fairy about how to follow Bae? Curse was very last option but there were definitely a few ideas thrown out there and that was long before Jefferson and his hat ever came around and Rumple is old, powerful, and smart (if not high on common sense sometimes).

In Skin Deep, Regina was asking Rumple about a deal with a “certain mermaid”. Maybe Regina had Jefferson’s hat by that time so she could travel between other worlds. Maybe Regina’s been to Neverland too.
Yes, that is precisely what I think, too. It also gets around the tricky question of whether mermaids exist in both EF and NL, and whether they had underwater channels between worlds. If mermaids only exist in NL, then it’s makes sense that Regina and Rumple would travel there to encounter them.
Loving this, especially if it means bringing back SS.
In Hat Trick it does seem to hint that Regina has used Jefferson herself, not just that she knew of Rumple and Jefferson’s dealings."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"What do you want to bet that if Rumple DID go to Neverland at some point that he involved Jefferson somehow? It would be a great fill in the gaps someday episode when SS has a little bit of time. We’ve already SEEN Rumple employ Jefferson to try to get different things for him from other realms, why not take him to Neverland? Does Neverland have a door or is it strictly by bean portal? In which case how did Rumple get to Neverland cause it obviously wasn’t by bean or he would have just gone after Bae – plus the beans are all gone. Hmm….tiny issue. Any ideas?
Really excellent questions. I would like it if NL had a door because I really want the hat Emma made in Hat Trick to come back into play somehow and this could be a way. (I fear that we will never see that door room or hat ever again..). Obviously the shadow didn’t need a bean to take Bae to NL, he just flew. So there must be several ways of getting to NL.

That’s rare these days but I’ve heard of it happening (can’t remember who now or which show grr) but if the surprise is big enough sometimes they say for the good of the reveal blah blah.
In a Land Without Magic, they kept Jamie’s name off screen until the exact moment he took off his helmet for people who didn’t know he was coming back. So maybe the first scene while the credits roll in the EF and Neal meeting MAP.

If he came to NL at all, I think Rumple would have been in search of squid ink, as MysteryKat25 theorized. He would have needed that ink for the distinct purpose of using it to write Emma’s name on a pice of parchment from within his jail cell, which was just after Cinderella entrapped the Dark One and before Regina unleashed the dark curse. So, Rumple’s plans to carry out the dark curse probably would have been in place already as he traveled to Mermaid Lagoon in search of this rare squid ink, which he then planned to plant in his cell, in case the Savior should end up there one day. 😮 Head-desk
Yes, if he went to NL I think it would need to be as close to the Curse as possible. So, right after Cinderella’s wedding perhaps. He tells Cinderella he wants her baby, goes to NL to get the squid ink, comes back, Ella double crosses him (as he wanted her to do) and he is placed in the cell to wait for the Curse.
Meanwhile in NL, Bae has realized that Rumple is now capable of coming to NL. But Bae doesn’t know anything about the Curse. So he plans to leave NL to come back to our world. But if he moves in time, then maybe he left NL BEFORE the Curse in the EF but landed in our world AFTER the Curse. (that interview with H and K aside, we know portals travel in time and space. Yes, if Rumple suddenly found a way to NL and Bae learned of it, that alone would cause him to run run run run.
So when would Rumple have come to NL?

Also, I have a feeling Freya Tingley could show up again as adult Wendy (it’s been hinted we’d see her again in the present day). Freya is 19, so they could dress her up to look older (mid 20s) instead of young Wendy (age 13). If the theory is correct that the Home Office was founded by Wendy Darling, we might just see her again in the finale. 😮
I agree. When it was revealed that Freya was Wendy I was so confused because Freya is quite a bit older than Wendy (remember, we all though Lanie would be Wendy because of her age) so casting a 19 yr old to originally play a 13 yr old has to mean that we’ll see her later.
