*sigh* This is disappointing. They really promoted this episode and I think we needed a big boost to make ABC feel like they can give us a full S3. I know the 7+ will increase, but this is a pretty flat number, and our ratings share didn’t increase. Start worrying?

A few thoughts : ratings tend to go up after you kill off a main character. Case in point, Revenge just got a nice boost and before their hiatus they killed someone. Maybe next week will give us a bigger stride.
It is nice that we went up, and I’m DST had something to do with this, but I was really hoping we’d get at least a 2.4 ratings share. Once again Amazing Race beat us.

I can concede that Rumple may may have loved Cora, but it was a very dangerous dark love that I think was fueled more out of his lust for someone who thought exactly the way he did. He only became enamored of her when she was talking about all the bad things she’d like to do to those who wronged her. He found that attractive, that’s what excited him.
But I still think Cora had no idea what love was, she only had a very wrong conception of it and it was only when she had her heart back and saw her daughter for, really, the first time that she suddenly understood what love was. Had Cora waited until after Regina had been born to take her heart, I think we’d have a very different story because she’d realize what love truly was. What she felt for Rumple was desire for power, which she misunderstood as love and used it to manipulate him.

Would Rumple really have given up the search for Bae? I found that scene so odd and I’ve watched it so many times now. I can’t believe Rumple would give that up. He spent a life time search for Bae, and to give up for a woman that only brings out the darkness in him… I think it’s a total reversal of his character that he would suddenly give up Bae.

I don’t think he did give it up. In the scene where Rumpel and Cora first meet in the tower, he tells her that her daughter is important. He knows that she’s destined to cast the curse. So, even during their brief love affair, he was accutely aware of the curse. He didn’t abandoned his mission to find Bae. Not at all.

The he worded it made me think that he would have had Cora help him find Bae. He didn’t say his first born of THEM, but just his first born. I really doubt he’d give up Bae.

I wonder if it means we’re not going to see Pre-Emma Mr. Gold at all. He might just alluded to, but be some shadowy figure that we never actually see in SB pre-Emma.

I thought she was the perfect choice to play young Cora: she’s cocky and self-sure and a little rock and roll, which matches with Dark One Rumple’s rocker attitude. She can do “cold” really well. I didn’t feel sorry for Young Cora at all, which I suspect may have been the point. That red dress she was wearing was HOT. I think she did a great job of channeling Barbara Hershey though I read that she tried to make it her own since this was young Cora.

Regina took Henry Sr.’s heart because she thought it was the only path to her happiness. I can see using similar logic to kill Snow by taking her heart. Snow, in Regina’s eyes, is now responsible for Daniel’s death, Henry Sr’s death, and Cora’s death. The town of Storybrooke needs to be on the lookout…

Will Tamara be let in on the truth? Or does she already know?
Horowitz: Tamara met Neal in the real world. They fell in love and got engaged. Now, Neal is caught up in something that no regular person could possibly conceive of. How is she going to react to that? Or not react to that? Is he going to keep it from her? These are the questions we intend to pose, in addition to the more important emotional question: How does this affect Henry’s family, which is now expanded in many, many ways? Tamara is now a wild card thrown in the mix and we’re really excited to show you how it’s all going to play out.

I think this all but confirms that Tamara is NOT a Neverland character, and most likely not a fictional character at all.

Certainly sounds that way. Now I’m wondering if she might be HER after all.

At PaleyFest, you guys teased that we’ll meet Belle’s (Emilie de Ravin) alter ego in an upcoming episode called “Lacey.” What can you tell us about that episode?
Kitsis: The most important thing in that episode is that Gold is faced with a very tough choice. He knows that Henry is his undoing. We know that the only person whose life has ever been a great influence on him is Belle, so what happens when that is taken away?

UHHHHHHHH. Why is Lacey so far away??

That’s exactly right. But really what she was saying in that moment is that when she looked at Regina and she looked at Rumple, two people she could’ve loved, she realized she spent a lifetime choosing power over love.

Could have loved. Could have. Ok, I’m going to maintain that Cora did not know what love was until Regina put her heart back into her body and she saw her daughter, truly saw her, for the first time and then what she thought she felt for Rumple pales in comparison to what she feels for Regina, which is real love.

During the Bae/Rumple moment, Rumple says something like “I’ve spent a life time looking for you so I could tell you I loved you.” There’s a reason they cut to Emma at that moment. We know at some point Emma does go to Tallahassee and despite what she told NealFire in “Manhattan” she did NOT keep the swan charm AND the car only to remind herself never to trust anyone again. I think she’s been looking for Neal for a long time. That girl loves him.
