KeymasterLisa: this is OUaT. No theory is too outlandish. 🙂
I agree that part of the game changer has to be Bae learning Milha’s fate. That has to come up because Rumple has a lot to atone for starting with the the pain he caused Bae and once Bae learns of Milah, that pain is going to grow by leaps and bounds.
But I question if Rumple will truly go after Henry. After the Miller’s Daughter and that wonderful moment between NealFire and Papastiltskin (which I can’t watch without feeling gutted…seriously someone give RC and award and make MRJ a full cast member!) I think Rumple is going to be on is best behavior so as not to destroy this tiny flicker of hope in regards to his son.[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl

I think Hook and Regina will team up again now. Since Hook – hates Rumple and Regina – Hates Snow again….Both Rumple and Snow are family now so logically it would be suited for Hook and Regina to team up.
I think this is a very likely scenario, but I also wonder if it will last the whole season. They’ve been using Hook a lot as just the guy-seeking-revenge; they need to develop him and since we're heading to Neverland at the end of the season they need to do it soon, or they risk Hook becoming a cliche.

KeymasterSo I went to bed and we still haven’t settled this questions. lol 🙂
I thought a lot about this last night and I have a few more points.
–I don’t think Cora knew what love really was until the moment Regina put her heart back into her body. She only thought she knew what love was, and to her it was weakness. In those last few moments, she suddenly realized that love is what she felt when she was staring at her child and suddenly knew that it was more than enough, that the power didn’t matter. But she didn’t know love until that moment.
–Did Rumple love Cora? I still don’t know the answer to this question. Jane Espenson’s tweets make me *head desk*. When I went back and re-watched, I was disturbed that Rumple needed to know if Cora ever truly loved him. Why does he need to know? He clearly found a love that was more powerful and real and y’know..actual love with Belle. and like Jane said, he clearly doesn’t love her anymore. Rumple knew love before Belle with Milah, I accept that. And I think with Milah it was a young, hopeless dreamer type love. With Cora it was feeding into each other’s darkest desires and tapping into power. He mistook it for love because of how alone he was and because he finally found someone who shared that desire for darkness. I don’t know if we can call that love in a show that sets up love as the most powerful magic of all. The most powerful good magic of all.
–I keep going back to this but love was never mentioned until Cora needed something. And then, Cora being uber smart, probably realizes how Rumple felt and played off that. She plays people; I strongly suspect her dressing up in that red gown and “pretending” that she didn’t realize she was talking to the Prince was all a ruse to get him to notice her so she could raise in her station."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
KeymasterI actually cringed with the Cora and Rumpelstiltskin scenes. It was obviously not True Love–if it was, his curse would have started breaking. But it also seemed….weird. I don’t see why Cora fell in love with him. She seemed more in lust of him–he was powerful and attractive. But it wasn’t liek Belle and Rumpelstiltskin or Snow White and Prince Charming and the other couples on this show. They were all genuine. I think Rumpelstiltskin wanted desperatly to be in love and wanted someone to love him–his wife left him, hie let his son go, and he had no one else.
THIS. I may quote you over at the true love thread because I appear to be losing the battle on if Cora and Rumple were really in love and I need some other people who agree with me. 😀

KeymasterI think Rumple has a lifetime of redeeming to do. I don’t know if he’ll ever be done, but I want to see him try.
Second, Hook will still want his revenge when he finds out what happened. That puts anyone who comes between him and Rumple in danger, especially Belle, and we know how Rumple reacts when the people he sees as “his” are threatened. It’s not easy for him to make good choices, especially when his emotions and fears are involved.
I am very interested to see how Hook will respond to the killing of Cora. He and Cora had a very shaky alliance and now that Rumple is fully healed and immortal once more, will Hook go after Bae? Or Henry?
And he liked Henry before he connected him completely to the prophecy, which thoroughly complicates that relationship; I don’t think he wants to hurt Henry at all, even family matters aside, but he might if he thought it came down to him vs Henry, or even Belle/Bae vs Henry.
After that gut wrenching moment with Bae, I don’t think Rumple will go within five feet of hurting Henry. Henry is off limits to the Dark One right now because Bae and Rumple had this wonderful moment and to heck if Rumple will make the same mistake twice.

Favorite scene: Rumple on his deathbed on the phone with Belle and then Bae making peace with his papa. Talk about opening the dam for the waterworks. 😥
Least-favorite scene: Cora and Rumple kiss. Just, no.I had seen the Rumbelle scene many times so I was prepared but then…THEN…they went and did that Papastiltskin/Nealfire scene and I was just gutted.

I think Snow White was justified in killing Cora, because she had no other way to protect her family. If Cora had killed Rumple and become the dark one, it would have sealed the death of Snow’s husband, daughter, and grandson’s father, as well as her own death, leaving Henry alone with Regina, who would’ve been complicit in mass murder. Prince Charming kept going on about letting justice take its course, but he had no plan other than waving around a sword to actually take Cora down. So I actually think Snow did the right thing for right reasons (self-defense and defense of her family), but using Regina was the wrong, but perhaps only, way to kill Cora. Snow White probably wouldn’t have been able to get close enough to put the heart back into Cora herself, but she knew Regina could.
I agree but I keep going back to that line from Charming tonight: you’re heart is the purest I’ve ever known (paraphrasing). Snow needs herself to be blameless, it’s how she pictures herself. Knowing that she caused Regina to unknowingly kill Cora is going to plague her and I think take her to a very dark place.

KeymasterBut she was playing him! That’s how I read it. She said:
“Rumple can we have this?” “If you truly wish it!”
Obviously she didn’t wish it because she chose the other direction, she chose power. I don’t think it was love. It think it was lust for power. She only brought up love so he’d change the contract so she wouldn’t owe him anything because Cora refuses to owe people things.

KeymasterThey do understand each other, I agree. They bring out the darkness in each other. They are both so full of hate and misery and anger and desire for POWER, but I think that lead them to loving the darkness in each other. I think Rumple lusted after the woman who was just as dark as he was and vice versa. He’s been alone (we assume) since Milah, all alone in his darkness, and he thought he craved more darkness. But what love really is, is finding the light amidst all the darkness. And together, there was nothing but dark between them. I don’t think the AU of Cora and Rumple would have been a good one. Regina may, in the end, have been enough for Cora when she got her heart, but I don’t think it would have worked that way with Rumple. Rumple and her feed each other the darkness and it would have been a never ending cycle.

KeymasterI loved that “full of love” line. I think Rumple is about to have a total turn around and really try to be good. So many hints about that tonight, IMO.
I think Emma is going to be a real force for good someday. It’s going to take awhile, of course, because she’s untrained, but she’s going to be super powerful.
