KeymasterThis is going to be a ratings nightmare. People will tune in at 8pm expecting OuaT, see Obama start the speech, assume it’s not on and switch to something else. Ugh.
Nah. These special broadcasts happen enough that people know that it’ll be over in roughly 15 mins, especially with every major network airing it. They’ll be some little thing before hand about how the scheduled program will begin as soon as the President is done talking. The ratings will still be off because of it and we might have to wait until Tuesday for the “real” results but it’s not going to kill the show or anything.

KeymasterWell. I don’t know. I have a lot of feelings (both negative and positive). Up until the last 15 mins or so, I would have said it was an incredibly disappointing season finale but the last 15 mins–when “Me” enters the picture and everything after that–was rather stunning. I admit, I was floored at the big reveal that the Doctor lost his memories of Clara.
With that said, though, the return to Gallifrey was rather cold and bloodless and not what I’ve been hoping for. 10 and 11 used to speak of their home with such reverence and awe. The Doctor didn’t hate Gallifrey and his people. He was sad for what happened, but he loved who he was and where he came from and his people. This Doctor gave no cares about the Shinning City, the Citadel, or any of the people inside (he seems to care about those on the outside which, btw, why were the non-Time Lord’s dressed like 1930s migrant workers from the Grapes of Wrath?). It was a pretty disappointing homecoming.
And yeah, Clara’s going to die, but first she gets to live a bit more with Ashidlr which seems…iffy to me. The lesson wasn’t learned. Sometimes you do lose, sometimes you do have to face consequences. There is no get out of jail free card. So yes, Clara is going to die by that raven, but it will be after she’s had her kicks. Seems…well, it seems totally in Moffat’s wheelhouse to not really kill a character.
But man. Those last few moments when the Doctor entered *his* TARDIS–the one thing that truly remains when he’s lost it all–and grabbed his new sonic (caught it from the sky like the Cosmic Hero he is, in all his archetypical glory)–oh lawd. I cried. Like, that’s him. That’s my hero. That’s the Hero who goes out and defeats evil and keeps us all safe. Ugh. I had some feelings, in other words.
Also, total Katabasis, yeah? Y’all know how much I love a good katabasis.
I’ll have more to say later once I ponder this more and write up some thoughts.

KeymasterNote that this should likely only effect the East Coast/Central airings. The West Coast airing will probably air at its normal time without delays.
Canada will also most likely not be affected. If you are watching in Canada or a Canadian stream, please remember to keep it spoiler free in the chat and threads until after the East Coast has finished (roughly, 15 min past normal end time)

KeymasterWhat’s the odds that Belle goes to Neal’s apartment?
Who are Belle and Neal?

Keymasterpersonally think that Merida and Mulan had far more chemistry than Red and Mulan, but that is just my opinion.
A lot of people shared that opinion actually.
It’s too early for us to make judgements IMO
Well, it is and it isn’t. It’s not like they’ve never done this before. Back in S2 and then into S3, Mulan clearly had feeling for Aurora but the writers left it intentionally vague on screen. They did the same thing this time around by having Mulan play the pronoun game. Now, could they surprise us next half and have Mulan and Ruby really develop a relationship and let it play out? Sure. Anything’s possible. But I doubt it will be explored in any meaningful way. We’ll probably see Mulan and Ruby one more time where it will be canonically established (probably, again, in a vague way) that they are together romantically and then they’ll ship them back to Forgotten Character Island.

KeymasterI get the feeling that Milah’s return is more or less to serve as a prop for Hook and Rumple–some sort of “forgive each other, be friends, blah blah blah”

KeymasterI honestly don’t think we’ll see Belle again until Season 6 after 5A (Despite Adam saying on Twitter that she’s in 5B). If we do, it’ll probably be one scene in the 5B finale of her returning to Storybrooke. This just screams Eddy & Adam hiding Emilie’s pregnancy in my opinion.
I tend to agree, but I think they have one scene of her in 5B, like 512 specifically, of her out in the real world, just to assure the audience that she’s okay for now. She’ll enter the story again once we get to S6.

KeymasterMorning!

Keymaster3) Re: Sneak Peak 2: Why is original! Hook completely gone? With Rumple he was still in there somewhere. Is it because he had already been dark in the past before he became the DO? Or is it number 4…see below….
PLOT
4) I think Hook is still in there, and he will make a big sacrifice for Emma (thus revealing that he is still in there), resulting in a road trip (physically or metaphysically) to Hell/Hades to retrieve him. This sacrifice might mean Emma killing him or he killing himself. This DO performance until now is just so Emma wouldn’t hesitate to kill Hook and save herself, or throw Emma off the scent that he is about to sacrifice himself.
Yup, that’s exactly how it’s going down pretty sure.
I know this is nitpicky, but it just looks SO out of place, and doesn’t the guy have a flask he’d more realistically be drinking out of instead?
No it’s insane, you’re right. I wonder if the budget was limited and they couldn’t CGI the castle room again?

KeymasterSo, I should know better than to ask a worldbuilding mechanics question but is the Underworld technically just another realm in the OUAT multiverse?
I think it’s just another realm.
