KeymasterYes, but that’s really the question. If you don’t know the nature of something, it might appear purposeful when it’s actually just following some kind of basic law of physics. (I’m blanking on a good example. Pulsars, maybe?). The darkness could be seeking some kind of baseline condition. Knowing OUAT, it will be BOTH *twitch*
Maybe? Because it did go to the Apprentice first and I wouldn’t say he is anything special outside of magical. Maybe that’s it? When the Darkness seeks someone out of its own volition, the person needs to be someone who has magic?

KeymasterI had a huge long response to KFC and the forum ate it.
*sigh* I’m too tired to retype.
So I’ll just apologize for being touchy and move on. Fighting with a friend isn’t worth it. Nothing about this show is worth it.

KeymasterOn a serious note, I think this particular thread has sort of become the grab-bag for all OUAT “dissenters” — not only people who are Swanfire shippers, but anyone who is articulating a critique of the show.
Which of course we aren’t supposed to do because “it’s just a TV show” and we’re supposed to just “sit back and enjoy the ride.” Cause media isn’t worthy of being critiqued!? Because it makes them uncomfortable to admit that their favorite show/character has some very serious problems and therefore let’s IGNORE THEM
(sigh. I’m in a bad mood tonight)

KeymasterDid the Apprentice live with the Sorcerer? If he is here, and the mansion is here, shouldn’t the sorcerer be here? Do you guys think they will have to find the Sorcerer in SB? I know Apprentice said he was “far, far away” but I don’t see why… But then again, they can open portals so *shrug*
Well it seemed like the Sorcerer didn’t live with the Apprentice back in the EF. The one time we saw the two talk to one another, the Apprentice was talking to a cauldron and a puff of smoke. My guess is that the cauldron is essentially their version of Skype, and they were communicating from different locations.
Yeah I suspect Merlin in in Camelot.

KeymasterIt makes me think that what we need is a thread where it is ok to actually be critical of Hook because it feels like there’s a bit of a gag order
Ain’t gonna happen. Sorry. I’ve tried my hardest over the past three years but I’m surrendering to the cesspool. It’s bad enough that I’ve got people talking smack about my forums already but to have to take these kinds of conversations outside of here…good lord. I would never sleep ever again. Sorry.
I’m still confused why Emma explained her bug to Regina as something she stole just because she likes yellow, rather than saying its where she met Neal.
Because who’s Neal?

KeymasterThe darkness is “alive” in some way–it was seeking someone out and seems to have deliberately chosen Regina

KeymasterOk, Sheldon. Where was this 4 years ago when I fell down an OUAT shaped rabbit hole?

KeymasterGood point. But that wouldn’t preclude the show from actually giving Hook some space to develop as a character, rather than shoehorn him into the heartthrob role. For what it’s worth I thought Hook was an entertaining villain, precisely because he was such a scumbag. But then, it’s like POOF, behold, Fabio.
True but A and E don’t want to develop as a character–at least not in any recognizable way. They just want him to be their dashing rogue ex-bad boy but without showing us how he got there. We’re just expected to believe it. Now the question is: did ABC push them to get him to Fabio (lol) there faster or do A and E just really have no idea how to get him there so they magicked it.
But this is what I thought was done so brilliantly. Yes, I totally shipped them at the time, but now, older and wiser, I … well, it’s hard not to root for them in some way anyway.
Oh absolutely. I still ship them. I reblog them tumblr and still think Buffy would ultimately be with him. I just now recognize that it was a darker relationship.
By contrast, when it comes to Hook, and CS more broadly, there’s this weird flatness to it. Maybe because Hook’s primary relationship outside of Emma appears to be with Rumple, which at this point has become so repetitive it adds nothing to his character development.
to quote Regina, he’s the pirate mascot. he adds nothing to group scenes but must be there for…reasons

This thread will not be closed for the time being, but I am going to ask that everyone conduct their conversations with relations to the text that is OUAT and NOT turn it into a series of personal attacks based on who likes whom. The conversation is about Rumple and whether or not he might try to hurt Emma. Keep the conversation focused on the ins and outs of that and leave each other alone.
