In the official podcast with Adam and Eddy they mentioned the ring: they said that while Rumple is swag-tastic, seeing if the ring has greater significance is something we could watch for. (paraphrasing) so SpinningGold might be on to something!
YAY!

I thought it was an Opal..which legend has it, can make the wearer invisible. Sounds like something Robin Hood would try to steal from Rumple in 2×19. Just my guess!
Yes looking up close (which wasn’t possible until now) I have started to wonder too. It could be, but I miss the flecks you usually see in opal, like someone threw oil shine glitter in it… It still could be either (or more like it, a piece of paste to resemble either one 😆 )

The first thing I remember seeing RC in was The Full Monty as a teenager with my parents. I still can’t look at garden gnomes the same way after that movie. It’s one of my top favorite movies of all time. I had a bit of a crush on him and the chubby Marc Addy in that movie. Imagine my surprise when I realized by about “The Price of Gold” that my crush on Rumple wasn’t as odd as I thought it was because I learned he was the same guy in The Full Monty and I had already had one on him as a teenager.
That’s the mark of a good actor for me. I was the same, I was sure I saw him before and very happy to see he was from one of my favourite films. His role as Rumpel is outstanding though, a combination of everything he learned before, and you can see how much he’s enjoying it. That’s why Rumpel shines to me, and often I like him even better than Gold (though last weeks episode was a definite exception) I like dark characters, they are(like Bellle said) layered. Especially with Rumpel you can often feel his pain, and you just love him. Robert Carlyle is doing a wonderful job of portraying a flawed man, that wants to do the right thing, but has a habit of making the wrong decision, because like so many of us, he fears death.

I have this mad desire to run my fingers through his hair 😯
It’s normal … Have you watched Ravenous yet? Entirely different craving
*bloodlust* 😈 Those tempting fingers. Me lick…. you who saw it know what I am talking about 😆
spinninggoldParticipantI thought it was utterly adorable. “I want that” was actually the first thing that crossed my mind as I saw it. So I’m glad to be it’s keeper. *get’s a toy Rumpel and Belle to do kissey-kissey in front of it*
spinninggoldParticipantCan’t believe no one claimed this: Rumpel’s Castle… And I’ll be greedy, I want the big one in FTL, but also the toy one in his shop that was next to Cora in the shot as she tried to break her way into the back room so she could kill Rumpel (actually just wanted the toy castle, but if the other one isn’t claimed…. I WANT THAT!)
spinninggoldParticipantJane Espenson tweeted that Mary Margaret will be teaching again in next week's episode so that’s one mystery solved. (not sure that’s worth a spoiler tag, not earth shocking, but technicallly it is a spoiler)
spinninggoldParticipantI think Eva was supposed to marry Henry, only a goldspinning miller’s daughter was a better option. Somewhere inbetween I would like to think that Eva got insight on how horrible she treated Cora and what that did to her, repented and changed her ways. For heartless Cora however, such a deed would never be enough, just like Snowwhite can say sorry to Regina for a thousand times about Daniel, and she still won’t forgive her.
spinninggoldParticipantDidn’t someone confuse Leopold with George? ( I swear I have to look up Charming’s and James adopted daddy every time I talk about him)…. So that still would make Regina Charming’s cousin, though no blood relation

Maybe we should just ask Jane. 😆
Yup probably 😆 Getting a list of questions here.

Think about what that means. Rumple was willing to forego the very existence of Regina, whom he had foreseen would cast the dark curse. That means Rumple was in effect willing to let go of ever finding Baelfire again for the chance of having a child of his own with the woman he loved.
Ehm no, don’t think so. We have seen that the future is not fixed but certain events are bound to happen. Like Rumpel losing his son. That was a given, even though the how and why were blurry. I think that he was banking on the idea that even with him as father, the envisioned girl still would have been born, and they could raise her together, as a happy family. That would be a dream of Rumpel, because he would get a do-over… and get his son back. Just like he promises Cora mountains of gold and power beyond her imagination, in that second she does the same for him. Give himeverything he has ever dreamed of. Only she doesn’t fullfill that promise.
Part of me does not get it, as Rumpel’s wife she could have been more powerful than anyone. Cross Rumpel’s wife and you are sure to end up as chopped snail liver.
On the other hand, she was sick of her stigma of miller’s daughter and as mrs Rumpel she would have gotten another stigma entirely. But still… way more power… and a sexy beast to boot rrrrawwspinninggoldParticipantHmm, very good point. The average fairy tale engagement to marriage time is a week. So including the time spend in the tower, that’s two weeks tops. She couldn’t have learned much more then spin gold and learning to rip out hearts in that. Let alone fall head over heals with some sinester gold looking guy, that has a creepy view of the world enough want to run away with him…although… he is damn sexy. And let us not forget the book of spells she got from him. That sounds like something that takes time and effort, just as it did Regina. I always assumed he kept teaching her till Regina was born and then stopped because she made a trade for Regina.
So unless King Xavier somehow postponed the wedding to find a way to get rid of her, I don’t see how you could fit all that in such a short time. -
