ParticipantObservation #4
In the “Pilot” just as Grumpy is about to warn of the curse’s arrival a dragon can be seen fleeing the curse. In “The Heart of the Truest Believer” just as Robin says, “we crossed paths once..” what appears to be the same dragon makes a appearance through the window behind Robin and to the right.Observation #5
During the opening scene of “Quite A Common Fairy” as the we approach the ruins of Rumple’s castle passing from left to right across the screen is a small blue butterfly just before the camera brings us inside to the scene of Neal rummaging through his father’s hidden cupboard (this is one of those you blink you miss it) This same blue butterfly can be observed in a promo that aired before the series premiered and in a season 2 promo. links to the promo clips follow (clips are time indexed for your convenience): series trailer promo http://youtu.be/Rga4rp4j5TY?t=1m52s season 2 promo http://youtu.be/lVs3z2lGxwY?t=16s

ParticipantRegina: “let out of our last deal” I smell a loose end. Wonder what she thought she could hold over his head hmmm? She’s clearly not referencing that deal about curse ingredients.

ParticipantUhhh. Guys. This might be old news seeing as I saw away the week it happened, but did anyone notice that in those pics of Pan & Rumple that Pan had something in his hand? It kinda looks like the top of that potion bottle…
Looks more like the small vessel Regina is carrying in the other BTS shots, whereas the phial Hook’s carrying has a cork stopper.

ParticipantWell now you’re painting the audience with one giant brush. I think the audience recognizes the importance of Regina, to say nothing of her very loud fanbase. I think Regina is capable of greatness if she lets go of her anger and rage and need for power/magic. But at the end of the day, she is not made up of the most powerful magic of all. So she can be a brilliant queen and sorceeress once she sorts out her personal demons, but she’ll never be the product of true love, the most powerful magic in any realm.
It’s just a general dispassionate observation, based an interpretation of character performances, set dressing, etc. I have a tendency to be a little Spocklike in my analysis.

*not sure if you’re referring to Neal and Rumple or me and my impatience*

ParticipantEmma might be the product of true love, but who’s to say that it isn’t the darkness that’s holding Regina back from being the “so much more” her mother knows her to be and “doing so much” if she allowed herself as Rumple said. Just to clarify, I’m not saying Regina is the most important but she is more important than I think the audience has a tendency to believe. It’s difficult to verbalize it but I’ve got a fingerspitzengefühl about this.

ParticipantCora wasn’t exactly a picture of mental health and happiness. She was a very angry, arrogant girl. I get what you’re saying and I do think there is a magical connection between Emma and Regina in that one is dark and one is light and that’s pretty powerful but I don’t think it is something Rumple wants to forestall for some end game. Afterall, he was perfectly fine with the Wraith taking her soul and having her effectively die.
Here’s the rub, Rumple knows that the endgame is coming he said so much in the Pilot, referencing the “final battle” which to my mind means that he being the farsighted imp he is has already stacked the board to best advantage. The catch will come when the future he foresees plays out not quite the way he saw it.
