ParticipantTsk, tsk, tsk somehow I expected more from SB’s residents. A whole year they saw Regina struggle with her darkness, stand ready to sacrifice herself, rescue Henry and save them from Pan’s curse. Oh well, guess they deserve a visit from the Evil Queen then.
All kidding aside, the transposed positions of Emma and Regina in this curse will probably play out further esp. if the curse instead of being aimed at everyone else’s happiness it is specifically targeted at Regina’s as we have speculated.

ParticipantOnce again Eddie and Adam have been clever about character names. Remember how everyone was trying to figure out why Doctor Whale’s last name was well, Whale? Well it turned out he was named for the director of the Frankenstein pictures. The character of Walsh is named for one Pat Walshe, who wait for it played the Wicked Witch of the West’s second banana Nikko the Flying Monkey in the 1939 film.

ParticipantWonder who Regina is speaking to when she says: “This curse can be broken.” Doesn’t look like the Witch to me.

ParticipantWell, from that I think it’s fair to speculate that Regina knows something of the Witch but if there is a family or some other connection then Regina is clearly ignorant of that at first. Curious also that the Witch produces a needle which I assume is for the spindle of a spinning wheel. Connection to the time Regina put David under the sleeping curse? Connection to Aurora’s storyline? Questions, questions too many questions. There is much to be learned and we have no time.

ParticipantAm I alone in thinking that a certain archer will be coming to Regina and Snow’s rescue forthwith?

ParticipantI was right look closely at the clip with Regina and Snow when the flying primate attacks. As he picks her up he claws her arm drawing blood. The same drop of blood I speculated that the witch put in the phial!

ParticipantHere’s something to consider, the Wicked Witch’s curse wipes the memories of the past year from those who returned to the EF. Now if Regina removes her heart and buries it prior to the curse being cast it stands to reason that her memory of removing it and having buried it would be lost to her. If so then one of two things must happen: A) her memory is restored and events surrounding the heart flow from that or B) her memory remains unrestored and the truth about her heart must be learned by others (perhaps leading to a for want of a better term ‘treasure hunt’ by her extended family?). It’s also worth noting that if she learned that Robin was her soul mate while in the EF the curse would necessitate her discovering it all over again.

ParticipantWell the unicorns are also Charming’s tailsman. He has a very intense moment with them in Gold’s shop before Rumple redirects him to the windmill, thus placing David Nolan in his head.
I would consider that a tangential and specific reference for the purposes of that particular scene. I personally suspect a pattern is forming with Regina and that symbol. I suspect that it is a force line connecting her and Emma how so is the question I’m mulling over.

ParticipantIf you re-watch the episodes in which Regina visits Gold’s shop invariably the mobile is present during their conversations or hangs in camera range. The mobile is rarely in shots involving Emma in the shop save on three occasions that I’m aware of 1) In season 1 when she wants Gold’s help getting Henry back from Regina 2) In season 1 when she and Regina seek Gold’s help in saving Henry 3) The aforementioned scene in the mid-season 3 break. The fact that the unicorns on the mobile also appear in blue and clear glass must also serve a symbolic function most likely pairs of opposites

ParticipantMy point is that the symbol is more biased towards Regina hence one can deduce that there is a substantial connection whereas the mobile’s association with Emma is one made automatically given the way it is introduced to us in the Pilot (Just as apples are a an automatic association with Regina ). The connection with Regina has to be parsed out indicating a greater symbolic significance.
