I just listened to it. I think it confirmed things we already suspected, not sure what spoliers there were other than one line about Hook backstory next week, but that seemed a given with the ending of this episode .
They spent a lot of time on Bae and what a tragic and heroic figure he is. I’ve seen people call him a coward but A&E flat out said he was brave. They also talked about how important that moment with the Darlings was for Bae. It was really the first time he could be a kid and relax.

I do think he is meant to be the Peter Pan figure in the story, but definitely in reverse. He doesn't want to go to NL but does so to save Wendy. I also think Hook is not going to be a villain but his mentor there in NL because NL is B-A-D. I don't think he's having fun adventures there, but fighting for his life more or less.

I thought the same thing at first, but the more I listened, the more I started to realize that they never said he isn’t Peter Pan. What they said is “that there were so many guesses, he’s Peter Pan, he’s this……we are so excited we had a vision of him being an Oliver Twist like street kid who sees the famous window open and goes through this. Excited to see the audiences’ speculation and they are thrilled to finally reveal it.”

In my mind,, they are leading us to believe he isn’t without actually saying he isn’t. Yet further on, they say:

Estelle: It is an interesting twist on the Peter Pan story.

Adam: Well, you know the inspiration for [Baelfire and the shadow] was that we were both been huge fans of the Peter Pan, it’s one of our favorite shows, and when we created this show we always dreamed we could include the Peter Pan story within it, and when the rights and all that were worked out so we could, it became about: how do we weave it into our mythology, and that’s kind of what the conception of the Baelfire character was.

And this is really only the tip of the iceberg for us, there’s so much more we want to do.

Eddy: And, I think for us, what we like to do on the show is little Red Riding Hood is turns out to be the wolf. Things aren’t what you think they are. Even though they may have some of the iconic touchstones of the story.

We just assumed, Neverland is the world’s greatest place. There’s no adults, there’s magic, there’s mermaids, Peter Pan gets to be…however old he is for as long as he is.

And so for us, how do you show Neverland in a way no one has seen before that’s still within the spirit of the show?

So, in my mind, they are confirming that Bae will in fact, end up being Peter Pan. They did after all, confirm that they based the whole Baelfire character on Peter Pan.

These guys can be so tricky and with this podcast especially, I find we really have to read between the lines.

This podcast was VERY REVEALING about Bae’s identity. Has anyone listened to it yet as I would love to hear other members take on the reveal?

Regarding Kensington Gardens, Peter Pan is first seen in J.M. Barrie’s book The Little White Bird (also known as Adventures in Kensington Gardens) and everything takes place in those gardens as there was not yet a Neverland. So that is just one more clue leading us to believe that Bae is indeed Peter Pan.

Also, note the couple in the distance, walking through the park. It’s foggy and their figures are shadowy. I can’t quite figure out what they are saying, but one can’t help but automatically think of shadows while watching them.

Both Bae and the shadow came through the Darling’s window. Signs again of Peter Pan’s entrance into the Darling’s residence. Wendy also mentions that the shadow started showing up at the exact same time.

As for them intentionally given misleading information or downright lying about clues, they do. 😆 I asked Jane about her fake clues as to what AWB showed Neal in his box that night. Remember how she tweeted “a big…shiny….red….mystery” and then “a small….shiny…..mystery”. Her response was that she was joking. So, they don’t always tell the truth about things. 😉

WARNING HUGE SPOILERS: now here is the best clue, the biggest clue and the award winning “Daniel drink your coffee” clue. In the official podcast, for 2×21, Second Star to the Right. Kitsis and Horowitz pretty much spells out that it is Peter Pan. Have to say, that it is also the best podcast of both seasons. So much information given away.

The fashions were clearly turn of the century though. Peter Pan was written around 1900.

Then he came through to about 1900 and was in NL for less than 133 years.

Yes, and considering that Bae is between 275 and 280 years old, there is a time gap of around 150 years missing, give or take a few years. Where did those years go? That’s one heck of a long ride to our world.

I think because it was searching specifically for Bae thus wanting only boys until he found him.

You know how did the Home Office know what to do with the diamond and where to set it off at ❓

I was wondering the same exact thing. How did they know what to do with the diamond and how did they know you had to use a dwarf pick axe? They must have someone on the inside?

Well, maybe if Tamara’s grandmother was Cinder’s ex-fairy godmother, and she was still alive but exiled, she might be running the show and know about these things. It’s doubtful but it’s a thought.

GOAT thinks they are serving a higher purpose, they honestly think what the Home Office asks them to do is the right and noble thing. So like so many villains on this show, I don’t think we can just flat out call evil or crazy. (Just give me Tamara’s story already!)

I don’t think we should expect every operative of the Home Office to be given a backstory, and in Tamara’s case I’m not sure she’ll live to become a character proeminent enough to warrant one. After what she did to Neal I can’t see the finale ending without Rumple wreck a terrible vengeance upon her.

I don’t know about that. They’ve introduced the grandmother as her reason for her convictions. We’ve seen her pull out a picture of her grandmother. They must have plans to show us that back story at some point and time.

Someone was joking about Tamara being related to Torquemada, of the Spanish Inquisition (SI). A modern day SI perhaps? 😮

    “No one expects the SI!”

If they’re going to mash up some Monty Python, can we get a killer bunny?

Yes!!! Or the Knights of Ni! LOL! What I’d give to see them skipping about with their coconuts and bickering with taunting French guards! 😆

TheGoldenKey – I love the idea that she is Jane! When I realized the girl playing Wendy was 19 I agree that we’ll see her aged up a bit and it would make sense that by the time Bae comes back (it may take him awhile to save the Lost Boys and learn to travel back and forth, befriend Tink etc etc, who knows) that she would be older and have a daughter of her own.

I don’t want Tamara to be related to anybody! OK, OK, she probably has to be and it’s looking likely that it’s Robin Hood & Marian but I’m having a hard time believing somebody so awesome has such a rotten kid! (Also who is that woman in the picture with Tamara?)

I’m on the fence about Wendy starting the home office – it does connect especially since this was the first episode we saw her in and she might be jaded about magic after seeing the shadow pan reject her and try to take her brothers, eventually taking Bae away from her but then again if he manages to come back then why would she be so bitter about magic? Although at that point I guess it could be that he’s still so young and she’s had to grow up without him, but then I would think she’d be jealous of Jane getting to know him then and he apparently broke ties with the Darling family at some point (perhaps after seeing that Wendy grew up) because he was off on his own and pursuing Emma after that so no more Wendy (or Wendy’s daughter, granddaughter etc etc).

I always loved Bae with Morraine and now with Wendy so I kinda wish he somehow had stayed there for a bit longer / had some connection to her in some way. At one point I wondered if maybe he was drawn to Wendy because she reminded him of Morraine and was possibly a descendant of hers but he didn’t exactly get a lot of time to explore that angle either so it’s probably nothing even though we saw her and she was named twice / was a close friend of his.

The Home Office certainly sounds very snobby against magic and has recruited various people along the way but it does come across as very cult like so I hope the Darlings weren’t involved at all and that Bae sacrificing himself for them didn’t change them toooo much to where they’d be willing to kill a whole town of innocent people just to get rid of magic (at least Henry only wanted to blow up a well! The kid seems sane now somehow lol).

I’m not giving up on the NealFire Pan theory yet though I wish he’d gotten more time with Wendy / her daughter etc etc if he is in fact Peter Pan. It feels disjointed somehow in that he lost track of all of them, and meanwhile this Home Office is running around being the Anti-Magic Police Squad.

Bae doesn’t like magic for obvious reasons but he would never condone what they’re trying to do now and neither would Henry. If the Home Office was created by characters we know and love, I hope there’s a plausible explanation as to why they went so dark and are now willing to do horrible things. If it’s been around since the time of the Darling children then it may have trickled down through the generations and gotten really ugly in the last 100 years, not to mention new recruits who are clearly psychotic, but whoever is in charge and giving the orders not only recruited the psychopaths but is giving them the order to move up the plan to use the failsafe and destroy SB so somebody high up is a little nuts too…

Really great points Kat! We are thinking along similar lines here. 😀 You mentioned Tink in your post and it got me thinking. What if Laine ended up playing Tink? She’s cute as a button and has those huge beautiful eyes! If they closed off the season with an appearance by Tinkerbell, wouldn’t that be a HUGE and wonderful surprise! All the more reason to keep her identity hidden. Was there ever a casting call for her? Again, been off the boards for a while and missed a lot of stuff. Gosh, just so many possibilities. 😀

They really do have some explaining to do regarding how dark it’s gotten with Greg/Tamara and the Home Office. I could sympathize with them, earlier on. I mean, if magic destroyed your family or loved ones, you’d be bitter too. I love Ethan Embry but he is really beginning to creep me out with this character and not in a good “loving a villain” way either. 😈
