High quality version of the bloopers. Can’t directly embed the video, because it’s on Tumblr.

I’m very surprised Pan wasn’t included.
All magic comes with a price!

The first scenes in Neverland with most of the main characters were meant to set the tone of each character for the rest of the season. Special mentions to Emma accepting Mary Margaret as her mother and Hook/Emma flirtations.
The “wax moustaches and perms” joke was to set the tone for their interpretation of Hook and Pan.
Pan and Emma’s first interaction was to set the tone of all his interactions between Emma, Regina, Snow etc.
Flashbacks were to show new elements of the characters i.e. Charming was not always trusted by the dwarfs.
Snow is someone who is full of hope – it was interesting to see her doubting herself.
Neverland was an emotional arc about Emma learning who she is – parallels to Snow learning more about herself in flashbacks.
“Neverland was a bit like therapy island” because Peter Pan makes you confront your past. Mr. Gold in particular struggled with that.
‘Who doesn’t want to see Grumpy accuse Charming of being a gold digger”
Charming/Rumple scenes are fun to write.
Belle is a very important character because of what she means to Rumplestiltskin. She is the one character who sees him for who he is.
There is a timeline outside the writers room to show what flashbacks have been shown and when so they don’t contradict things that have already happened.
They had fun with the Regina teaching Emma magic arc throughout the season.
The scene on the log with Emma and MM was originally written to be Emma and Hook but they changed it as they thought this was more poignant. The theme of the episode showing Snow/Emma being in similar situations made more emotional sense. Emma still has pain from when her parents left her. Pan is essentially putting a wedge between Emma and her parents. Compliments to Ginny and Jennifer.
Pan did not expect Emma and her parents to work past these feelings.
Excalibur giving Snow belief in herself is compared to Dumbo’s feather making him believe he can fly.
“Perhaps we will go to Camelot one day”.
Emma has her guard up at this stage with Hook. She starts to see him as more than just a pirate throughout the Neverland arc. “Perhaps I would” – Hook is earnestly showing his interest in Emma but it will take some episodes before this can move forward.
Was interesting to see Snow and Charming so in sync by the end of their flashback in this episode but not in present day story.Robert was very happy with the casting for young Rumple – Wyatt reminds him of himself and his son.
Stephen Lord had prepared a Scottish accent but they decided not to use it for his character.
There were originally three spinsters that spoke one word at a time but it was decided it would be too complicated.
Robert was very happy with Wyatt and his Scottish accent.
Robert compares Malcolm leaving Rumple, Rumple leaving Bae and Neal leaving Emma.
A lot of joking about Neverland actually being 10×10 yards.
“Not going in there with nothing but my good looks” is one of Robert’s favourite lines.
Some of Robert’s favourite scenes are on the green screen stage.
Emotional payback: in episode 4 Neal didn’t believe Rumple had given up his dagger/shadow and he sees at skull rock that he was telling the truth.
It was extremely difficult to hide the fact he does still have a shadow.
Robert and Robbie were the only cast members that knew about Peter Pan being Rumple’s dad. Crew members didn’t know either.
Full of praise for Robbie Kay.
Robert draws emotion for Rumples scenes with the doll his dad gave him from when he was younger. He went to the cinema to see the Aristocats with his dad and there were dolls of the cats playing guitars that he really liked. Even though his family did not have a lot of money his dad bought one for him and he treasured it for many years.
“It’s very dark inside that box”.Notes were already posted from the 317 and 322 commentaries, but I found a direct quote that Eddy Kitsis said. Warning, very ship heavy material
“The very first time she met Hook, we knew that Hook reminded her of Neal, and that she kind of saw “Here’s someone I could potentially have feelings for” that she suppressed for a very very long time.
And I think that seeing (her parents fall in love) and the happiness is making her realize that maybe love is something to risk for, even though she’s been hurt so many times. And I think one of the great things about the relationship between Emma and Hook Is that Hook understands Emma’s talents, and he understands her emotions a lot, and he’s there to be supportive.
He knows that he himself probably can get them out; this is going to require magic. And he knows Emma enough to know that she’s denying it because it’s a part of her. A lot of what this arc has been about is Emma accepting who she is and being ok with that. This is a couple who have definitely had chemistry since they climbed the beanstalk. And for us, Emma has always really pushed Hook off, I think, deep down she knows this is someone she could actually fall for.
And every time she’s fallen for someone, they’ve hurt her. And the way Emma has survived her whole life has been by keeping those walls up.When he tells her that he gave up his ship, the thing she knows he loves most , just for the opportunity to see her again Emma’s touched by it and says “All right, you know what, I’m gonna try and stop preventing myself from feeling things.”
You know they’ve had their moments of chemistry before they had their kiss in Neverland and they’ve had their flirtations here or there, but this is the first time that Emma has really let those walls down.”

August 19, 2014 at 10:33 pm #280453JabberwockyParticipantBefore I start my rant, a tip to all Canadians wanting to buy this. Don’t go to Walmart! It’s $49.99 there! I was able to get it at Future Shop, which is 5 minutes from my closest Walmart, for $39.99! Alrighty, moving on…
Everything about this DVD design is wrong! First of all, the cover art. As much as I love Regina, she shouldn’t have the cover all to herself, not to mention it was an old stock photo from Season 1, if I remember correctly. She really only played a big role in the second half of Season 3. If anyone should have gotten the cover to themselves, it should have been Rumple. He had major connections to both villains that season and was by far one of the most developed characters during the entirety of Season 3.
But what I think would have been even better would have been to feature the two villains, Peter Pan and Zelena, on the front with two different backgrounds for the slipcover and actual DVD cover. What I could have seen is to have Neverland as the background of the slipcover and Oz as the background for the actual DVD cover. They’ve been doing that would for the last two seasons, so why was this season’s design so lazy?
Another problem with the design is the spine. It’s red. The last two season’s spines have been a dark purple. Why are they suddenly changing it now? And if anything, shouldn’t the new color have been green and not red? Maybe it’s just me, but green was much more prominent this season than red.
Lastly, the designs on the actual discs. It’s aggravating how awful the placement of each character was on the disc, with the exception of one. Here’s the order:
Disc 1 (Episodes 1-5): Regina (WHY? Why use her now instead of on a disc in the second half, where she is actually more featured?)
Disc 2 (Episodes 6-10) Snow White + Prince Charming (I can see why they were put here, but I think they also should have been placed on a disc in the second half)
Disc 3 (Episodes 11-14) Rumple (It would have been better to have placed him on a disc in the first half instead of this disc, which features the last episode of the first half, and I know he does something crucial in that episode, and the first three episodes of the second half)
Disc 4 (Episodes 15-18) Captain Hook (This is the one disc I was alright with)
Disc 5 (Episodes 19-22) Emma (First of all, it’s weird that Emma’s last. And no Henry? They could have easily put Henry beside Emma, but they didn’t)
Here’s how I would have done it:
Disc 1: Emma (and Henry)
Disc 2: Rumple
Disc 3: Regina
Disc 4: Captain Hook
Disc 5: Snow White and Prince Charming
One little nitpick I’ll throw in is that all three screenshots on the back are from the first half. the background design is also seems to take place in Neverland. There is no love whatsoever for Zelena, except in the synopsis.
Overall, extremely disappointed with the DVD’s design. And you know what sucks about this? Season 3 is my favorite season so far and now it also has my least favorite DVD design so far. It was extremely lazy and random, a real shame.
August 20, 2014 at 9:11 am #280483obisgirlParticipantI talked about this last night on twitter.
I am so tired of Oncers complaining about the DVD design for season three.

I don't know about you all but I care more about what's on the DVDs or blurays than the design. I like listening to the DVD commentaries,
— obisgirl (@_obisgirl) August 20, 2014
watch the deleted scenes and special features. The cover art isn't on my priority list of things I care about when it comes to the DVD.
— obisgirl (@_obisgirl) August 20, 2014
And as Matt pointed out…
@_obisgirl Emma, Hook, Rumple, Snow and Charming actually are on the front cover. It's just that it's a lenticular.

but really, I think what’s on the DVDs/blurays should matter more than the design.
