Probably because Rumple would have been a better choice for the cover, but overall, having just one character’s face on the cover doesn’t really work, especially of a Season 1 stock image.
I agree.
still think my idea of having Neverland/Oz on the slipcover and the actual DVD cover would have been a better choice
I most definetely agree.
I’d love to know where that poll was being hosted and when. I never heard about it until now
Me either. I would have thought something like that would have been mentioned here but I’ve never heard of it

And Regina won….so….I don’t know why there are some complaints. Even if Adam and Eddy hadn’t listened to the fans…Regina more than likely would have still been on the cover because Season 3 was her Hero Season.
They were only given three options and no one said what it was for
1) Regina with apple
2) Regina will Hook’s hook
3) Hook with the hook
That’s not exactly a fair spread
I think she’s earned her place as the cover of Season 3.
She earned her places as a villain on the cover?

Granted it better represents S1, but it’s still a very cool, eye catching image. Maybe they chose it because the two halves of the season were so vastly different, they decided to go with something more symbolic of the entire series.

There wasn’t really much choice to be fair. The Regina one was preferable to what it was up against but it wasn’t like the fans had free choice of any character and specifically chose Regina. It was Regina or Hook, and since Hook is quite a divisive character in the fandom, Regina kind of one by default. People didn’t want to vote Hook therefore Regina got their votes.
Season 3A:
To be honest…while everyone was cowering in their pants over a teenage delinquent…Regina stepped up to the plate, and was the one who really saved Henry. Everyone played their part…but the Charmings wouldn’t have lasted a day without her in NL….Regina snatched out Pan’s heart, helped Rumple figure a way to beat Pan without saving his life, and she saved Henry AND Rumple, and got them out of Neverland back to Storybrooke. And in the end, sacrificed her own happy ending to save her son, gave Emma happy memories with Henry, and transported everyone back to the Enchanted Forest.
Regina did do well in Neverland but I don’t think she should have been the main feature on the dvd cover. OUAT is an ENSEMBLE show not the Regina show.
Season 3B:
What can I say? The entire point was #WickedvsEvil….Regina against her sister Zelena, so it was about her. And she gained light magic, stood up to her sister, beat her, and imprisoned her, and was willing to give her a chance to be good. She could have had a chance to actually gain a sister had a certain Dark Imp left well enough alone, and could have kept her soul mate, had the same Dark Imp left well enough alone. Therefore….this was her season.
OutlawQueen needs a more solid foundation than “pixie dust said so” to be believable to me. I don’t blame Rumple for killing Zelena since he suffered the most at Zelena’s hands. It wasn’t Regina’s place to solely decide whether or not Zelena deserved a second chance, that should’ve at least been a group decision. Also Regina was so patronising with her “heroes don’t kill” speech. She should not have been the one to say that line, especially to Rumple, since Regina isn’t actually one of the “heroes”.
Overall…Season 3 was Regina’s hero season! Period…point…blank…so…I think she’s earned her place as the cover of Season 3. Just as Emma had Season 2 Cover Art….well, Regina has the Season 3! Maybe Rumple or Snow will have Season 4, we’ll just have to wait and see. Can we just appreciate the good content on the DVD please instead of fighting over whose the star!!!
Season 3 was Regina’s spikeification season. She was actually irritating in 3B specifically in Kansas.

Keeper of FelixAugust 21, 2014 at 7:37 pm #280629WickedRegalParticipantWell….was Rumplestilskin not patronizing when he wanted Regina to give up on killing Snow because of Cora’s death???? I love Rumple….I do….but he was a complete Hypocrite in this situation!!! So it’s alright for him to kill Zelena out of vengeance, but tell Regina it’s wrong for her to do the same for Cora.
Yes, Rumple suffered under Zelena’s hand….but when you look at it….it’s so many things Zelena could have made Rumple do that she didn’t! She could have made him kill Belle and Neal just to see him suffer, but she didn’t. And Neal’s death…once again…sorta falls back on him. He understood that it came with a heavy price, Belle told him not to do it, but Neal said to h— with the consequences, and knowingly gave his life to save his father. Very much OOC, but that’s what happened. Zelena didn’t shove Neal’s hand down on the curse….he did it willingly. Plus…we can put some blame on Lumiere for leading them there….yes Zelena loaded the gun, but in the end, it was Neal’s choice to pull the trigger. Again….very OOC, but that’s what happened.
Not to mention…Rumple just has Ill history with Mills Women….he sent a wraith after Regina after promising Belle he wouldn’t hurt her….he manipulated Snow into killing Cora….and he killed Zelena for “vengeance” when he swore to Belle he wouldn’t, and covered it up with a proposal….so….yeah.
And we’ve gotten way off subject, the point is that Regina earned her Hero title in Season 3. She saved the day in NL and Oz….as for Outlaw Queen!!!! 😛

Rumple was just pointing out that Regina couldn’t kill Snow AND still have Henry’s love which is why Regina’s solution was that she would make Henry love her (or as close as she could get) with the curse of the empty-hearted. Rumple only warned Snowing because Snow did kind of save his life by killing Cora. Also, Regina was after Henry, Rumple’s grandson, so Rumple probably felt some obligation that he should warn the Charmings that Regina was planning something involving Henry. Rumple was then going to leave it at that but Charming stopped him and made him help more. Rumple only gave Snow what she needed, Snow was the one that chose to kill Cora. So no, Rumple wasn’t patronising to Regina, he was just pointing out that she couldn’t kill Henry’s grandmother and still have Henry love her of his own free will.
Yes, Rumple suffered under Zelena’s hand….but when you look at it….it’s so many things Zelena could have made Rumple do that she didn’t! Zelena tried to make him kill Belle right after he’d absorbed Neal to save him. Zelena deliberately tried to take away the only other important person in Rumple’s life for kicks.
The Mills women screwed over Rumple first:
Regina kept Belle prisoner and locked her in the asylum for 28 years and told Rumple she was dead.
Cora was trying to kill Rumple.
Zelena had enslaved Rumple for a whole year and had a hand in the death of his son.The Mills women are certainly not innocent little victims.
And we’ve gotten way off subject, the point is that Regina earned her Hero title in Season 3. She saved the day in NL and Oz….as for Outlaw Queen!!!!
Again, the whole OutlawQueen premise is built on “because pixie dust says so”. We’ve not been SHOWN WHY they’re “soulmates” or “true love”, we’ve just been told they are. OutlawQueen sounded interesting in theory but the way it has been written so far on the show just doesn’t make me invest in them as a couple.
