So I’ve been thinking of what we saw this season in terms of CS and here is what I think could be a possibility for Season 3.

• I can see Emma and Hook connecting and spending more time together while searching for Henry in Neverland.

• I think it is possible that Hook may try to sway away from the good side again to be out for himself, but do the right thing in the end.

• I think that it is being set up that Emma and Hook could find they are attracted to each other, but when Bae enters the story again, Hook might step away so that he can make it up to Bae and give him the family he always wanted. The show is about parallels, so I’m thinking that Hook already feels guilt that he took the family that Bae had by taking Milah away and didn’t think about the consequences. Maybe with Emma, he might think the right thing to do is to not ruin another family so he must push her away even though they have a connection.

• Does my CS heart like this? Not exactly, but I think it would show that Hook has grown as a character. I think there is a lot of growing that his character needs to go through – he needs to figure out what he wants to live for other than “himself”.

• I do realize that Emma could be with Nealfire for awhile but I am not opposed to that. I’d rather they explore their relationship early on so that they kind of get closure.

• I think if the show continually has the sexual tension between Hook and Emma for a couple of seasons (Jim and Pam from The Office, anyone?) it is usually worth the wait in the end.

These are just some thoughts. I really enjoy this thread, by the way. You all are very nice and respectful – just a great bunch of fellow shippers 😀

That would break my CS little heart, but the angst would awesome to watch.

I certainly see that as well. These would be great moments for Hook to have some flashbacks of his time in NL and of possible and very likely interactions with Bae in NL. I would like these flashbacks to solidify his cause to help Emma find Henry.

I totally agree with that. It would not make sense that he would all of a sudden be good 100% of the time. He has been vengeful for 300 years or so and being good and true might take some time getting used to lol. It also makes for an interesting, and continually-evolving character development for Hook. This would add to his complexity.

Absolutely. I see that happening in the beginning of their friendship too. He needs to grieve over Bae in a sense, realizing that he is “gone.” For him to back away at first would show that he is honoring Neal. I think pushing her away after the attraction inevitably stays after all his internal conlflicts will only make for an interesting and push-and-pull romantic dynamic between the two. Those are always the best.

It is necessary and a way to quell any doubts we had that Neal and Emma should or should not be together. They still have a lot of issues to uncover and Neal needs to find out more about Emma’s struggles because of leaving her.

Yes, a slow burning candle has always been my favorite type of ship. I don’t like instant romances that are lovey dovey. They seem too artificial to me. It is through the tension and the struggles and the love that comes after it that makes it long-lasting and real.

Two new Captain Swan parallels tonight!!

Killian pleading with Bae / Emma and Henry in Apple as Red as Blood pleading.

Emma and Hook first meeting / Killian and Milah first meeting.

I would love to see flashbacks with Bae in NL. There is so much more of Neverland I want to see through Hook’s perspective. I also wonder if Peter Pan is the other mortal enemy of Hook (Rumple being the other) and that Hook actually fought against him to try and get Bae back. It didn’t seem like Hook’s style to completely cower from Peter Pan. I think in terms of Emma, his experience will help guide her to get Henry. Her cause could end up being his cause.

Then again, I’m not sure Hook would step aside after baelfire comes back. B/c remember, he said to Rumpelstiltskin:

A man who doesn’t fight for what he wants, deserves what he gets.

and when has Baelfire ever fought for Emma? Not once. Neal didn’t even make an effort to reunite with her.
