Sorry I didnt stick around to say ” hi”  to you in the chat @obisgirl but the convo was begining to suck the joy out my initial happy reaction to Maleficents return

Oh and in case anyone didnt get the memo, NEAL IS DEAD, there was a body and burial.

And I would disagree with the ‘child abandoning’ accusation of Hook. Yeah, he handed Bae over to Pan, but what was he supposed to do? Bae wanted to leave. Was Hook supposed to hold him captive on his ship?

I’ve always thought that too! (But been a little afraid to say it, lol.) I mean, Bae demanded to leave and even tried to kill him. If he had kept him captive on the ship, Bae might’ve murdered him in his sleep or something (not likely really, but you never know). And it’s not like it would’ve been any different if they’d just put him on the island somewhere; Pan knew everything that happened there anyway. And without a portal, there wasn’t anywhere else to go except maybe back in the ocean.

Also…there’s another person who should’ve reacted differently to finding out that Rumple murdered Milah. Why on earth did that not seem to bother Baelfire? I guess his first instinct might have been to think Hook was lying, but logically it’s not like Hook would’ve risked his life for Milah’s son and kept her self-portrait all that time if she’d just been some random woman he’d abducted.

Re- the conversation with rational SF fans- it wasnt on this site or anyone from this site, sadly (I think many of that ships fans present on this site are still a long way from a truly rational, positive conversation :/ )

Out in great wide world where septic SF & NF fans are a tiny minority, it is a much, much nicer place to discuss things- I really realised why so many of our ship mates have bailed on this site- It really was nice not to see & deal with all the snark & negativity ( aka passive aggressiveness), which is so prevalent on this particular site- I almost feel like this place needs the name changed to ‘oncehatecast.com’ sometimes 🙁

    Anyhow …..

    LOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL- Thanks for posting that!

But in regard to Emma, I defer to JMo herself – There was just too much baggage for Emma to ever trust Neal as a romantic partner again.

I agree. I think an underlying theme for 3B has been starting over. I remember a line from 3B premiere, how Emma justified why she and Henry moved to New York:

A year ago, I was in Boston, until a fire destroyed my apartment and I moved to New York to have a fresh start with my son.

These are fake memories but I think that starting over and having a fresh start is something Emma’s always wanted. And the wording here, there was a “fire” that destroyed her apartment, her home. Teenage Emma really wanted a home, a chance to start over and be happy. Amnesia Emma wanted to move on and start fresh. But that chance for a home was destroyed by a bad fire. Adult Baelfire, Neal. I think it was in the cards as far back at 3×06 that Emma needed Neal to die in order for her to find her own happiness. She wanted a chance to start over and find love again but could not really do that with Neal being there.

    Agreed.

And re: the necklace…as far as I’m concerned that makes no sense. There was an awful lot of random stuff in Gold’s shop that came over from the first curse. Maybe all of that was born of true love as well and TL is actually common as dirt? Yeah, I don’t think so. And it just seems like another disconnect between Neal and Emma–he thinks it’s a symbol of their love while she said it was a reminder never to trust anyone.

    Yes, exactly.

@pom – I agree, neither Rumple and Hook are saints, but Belle does seem to have her blinkers on when it comes to Rumple. I totally agree she had reason to call Hook ‘rotten’, but in the next breath she calls Rumple’s heart ‘true’. And I would disagree with the ‘child abandoning’ accusation of Hook. Yeah, he handed Bae over to Pan, but what was he supposed to do? Bae wanted to leave. Was Hook supposed to hold him captive on his ship? And absolutely not, Hook’s actions aren’t being whitewashed. (I don’t think tortured soul is a cast-iron excuse, as Rumple has had some horribleness in his past too) Hook has to work pretty hard at gaining the ‘good guys’ trust, Regina does too (although Snow is willing to forgive her a little more easily b/c I assume Snow knew Regina when she was good, and knows that side is in there somewhere). Hook wants to be a better person, but I’m not sure Rumple does. Case in point giving Belle a fake dagger. In relation to people not being up in arms about Robin being with mass-murderer Regina, I think they are. There is that whole big thing about Regina killing Marion in the previous timeline and how on earth can Robin be with the woman who ‘killed’ his wife. But I guess he’s a little like Belle and is only seeing the good in her, since he hasn’t seen anything else. I assume in the EF Robin’s enemy was still the Sheriff of Nottingham, so the Evil Queen probably wasn’t on his radar much and only heard stories. And of course you shouldn’t believe rumour and gossip. However you can probably blame Rumple for Regina since he groomed her to become proficient in Dark Magic, so Rumple is the over-riding baddie and Regina is a product of the DO’s evil. It’s all in the eye of the beholder.

Absolutely! *Hands over a Hookie cookie*

I went to go on chat before coming in here to see if any of the Mal fans were there to chat, but like you, saw all the crap in there *eye roll* & did the same… sadly it didnt stop me seeing how we’re back to the “Hooks going to die” crap again *head desk* (even CS shippers drove me nuts last season with the “Is Hook going to die?!” stuff- for the love of all thats green, I REAAAAAALLLLLLLLY dont want the fandom- be they septic shippers, or totally obsessed CS fans- to go there again this season… pretty please, with cherries, sprinkles & cream on top 😀 )

    Yes, on both points.

Hmmm…yeah so saw chat.  And…definitely going to be putting my sticky note back up I can see.  Unfortunate, I was really hoping for maybe a little less negativity but I don’t think that’s going to happen…

I know we’ve mentioned it before but any less negative sites that still include various ‘ships and viewpoints anyone visits and recommends?  Because I’m really foreseeing me only coming to this thread here once S4 begins…how far we have….come.

I understand. I see certain people in the chat and it turns me off too.

There is a Captain Swan friendly chat on tumblr. I posted the link before and on fanforum, there’s no chat at all. Only thread posts and they have strict rules about anti ‘ships and character posting. They’re not allowed.

It also is fairly easy to make your own forum nowadays, but I love coming here. As annoying as it is, to see some people in the chat, overall I’ve found it’s only one person like that.

Oh, I had a random thought while watching CS fanvids before bed, What if Henry decides he wants to experience FTL, because it is where everyone is from- including Neal, it’d make sense for Henry to want to see the place his father was from, not to mention the rest of his family- both grandfathers, grandmother, step grandmother, adopted mother, soon to be step father & step brother…. What if Henry being around Rumple/Gold’s store, decides to find away to portal jump to EF? That would also allow them to organically bring Neal back in flashbacks (if MRJ is available) as well.

I think for the most part, we are done with present fairytale. I don’t think there’s a reason to go back there. But fairytale land past, different story. I think MRJ is busy with his new show on the History Channel to come back to Once (he’s playing two or three different parts?).

I just wish some people would learn to move on, you know? It’s nearly seven months now. It’s getting old. I mean goodness, if you’re so unhappy watching this show, then don’t watch and remove yourself from places that bring out that bad feeling.

After Neal died, a podcast (not naming which one) shut down their site. I thought that was an extreme decision, but if you’re unhappy doing something, then you shouldn’t do it.

The closer we get to the premiere, the more interviews we’ll get. So, I’m really excited about that. We’re going to see Colin and Jen and everyone else everywhere.

FYI, I’m going to be away during the first two weeks of the premiere. So, I’m going to miss at least the first two episodes of the season. I’l be in Canada (or here, pending if I get a job or not). I’ll be in Ontario.
