Killian Jones
ParticipantAfter that article I’m more reaffirmed even after damage control. The way they mention character arc and growth implies enough for me even if Adam says a line was taken out of context.

Participant“Hope” per episode: 3×02 “Lost Girl”
“Lost Girl,” the second episode of season three, was Snow centric and a direct parallel to Emma’s journey, to realizing her true identity.
Now, let’s look at how ‘hope’ was presented within the episode.
Emma: Regina’s right. Henry’s out there somewhere.
Snow: And Hook is right. We have to survive if we’re going to get him.
Emma: I know. I just hope we’re not too late.In this scene, JR6 minus Rumpelstiltskin are scouting around the island and Hook suggested to take a rest since they’re all going to need their energy in order to survive rescuing Henry. It’s still only the first day in Neverland and they need to find Henry. The interesting thing here, is Emma expressing the hope that they’re not too late in rescuing Henry. She also knows and agrees with Hook, they need to rest and reserve their energy if they’re going to survive.
Rumple: Becoming this again… The Dark One… that’s the only way I’ll save my grandson.
Belle: But you haven’t completely become him, have you?
(Whispers)
Belle: There’s still hope.Episode 2 is the first time Rumple comes across phantom Belle, who we all know in later episodes, is actually Pan’s shadow. But for now, she is phantom Belle and in true Belle fashion, she has deep hope and faith in Rumple that he won’t give into his dark side; he will do the right thing and save Henry instead of worrying about the prophecy and possibly killing his grandson.
Grumpy: What exactly were you two up to today?
Snow: You’ll see.
Grumpy: I hope.Snow and Charming are about to confront the Evil Queen, who is anticipating that Snow will take her deal and live quietly somewhere else while she rules the kingdom. After Regina confronted Snow the first time in this episode, Snow lost hope and was close to giving up and taking the Queen’s deal. But Charming refused to let her give up and created a situation to help Snow believe in herself, believe in hope.
Snow has hope back that she can fight Regina and win. The person who doesn’t have hope is Grumpy, primarily because it’s uncertain or worried about what Snow is planning.
Hook: Excellent show of patience, luv. And that’s what defeats a nasty little boy.
(Cork pops)
Emma: I hope so.Prior to this scene, Emma realized her true identity and admitted who she always was, an orphan and a lost girl and her realizing that, is what unlocked Pan’s map. But throughout the whole episode, Emma showed amazing patience, trying to figure out Pan’s riddle. Chances are, Hook knew Emma had to admit to herself that she was an orphan but needed to realize it on her own.
But Emma, being Emma, even though she unlocked the map, she’s still a little bit doubtful about their efforts. Emma is someone who has lived a very long time without hope, so she’s used to being let down; her response here isn’t an uncommon Emma reply. Part of her hopes that they will be successful but the orphan in her isn’t sure. [x]

ParticipantLovely piece of writing @obisgirl!!! 🙂
@Jenna_B and SK – I completely believe Adam is backtracking on twitter to cover his butt, and that’s not to mention that he said the quote was SLIGHTLY out of context i.e. not completely out of context. And I don’t think a quote like that “Hook’s not going anywhere” can be perceived incorrectly IMO. Then there’s the fact that he’s talking about someday seeing Killian in normal clothes, which he’s NOWHERE near. It won’t be this season.Anyway it’s not really news tbh, most of the fandom aren’t in denial and have long since figured out who it’s going to be.

ParticipantI just had a thought- this ‘spoiler of doom’, is about as big of a secret/suprise as Neal being Bae, being Henry’s dad was tbh lol 😉
