ParticipantI’m having troubles as well @Sarah_TN- not even sure this will post. Every time I go to post an image I get sent to the podcast page when I hit submit. I couldnt get spoiler tag to work when I finished my sentence with a full stop either… it’s really weird!

ParticipantWe got a new sneak peek for 3×17!!!
I haven’t watched it but from what I understand, Hook turns down the bar maid. No need to worry guys. He is 100% devoted to our girl, Emma.

ParticipantBo-Peeps wrote: After seeing the stills and reading the preview I can say with absolute certainty: A dream or not a dream of shining armor?… a wench/shill selling potions or just appreciating a hunky bad boy when she sees one? …a meeting of badass buccaneer bodaciousness or a quick overpowering of a rum ruzzelled Sparrow look alike? I have no freakin idea where all this is going and who is going to do what to whom, when, how and why All that matters to me in my own little shallow eye candy swashbuckler lovin’ romantic fool heart is that my favorite pirate, no, my favorite character evahhhh is going to have some serious air time doing some of the things that endeared him to me from the moment he swashed onto the screen with those …eyes. Fun drama-laced stuff for our beleaguered rapscallion of luscious leather, unbuttoned puffy pirate shirts and sassy snark. I want to see a bit of the dashing swagger and steam return…if only for one of those infuriatingly fast moving nanoseconds of centric focus. I will be awash in besotted grinnery with all the resplendent Hookery. And I don’t feel at all bad about feeling so good. LOL!!! I’ll 2nd the amen to that
ha ha ha – I was going to second it. How many do we need for a consensus? lol

Participantmy thoughts on the latest sneak peek:
If Hook had gone and spent the night with the wench, it would have been totally out of character for him at this point. It’s been stated since ‘Good Form’ that he is a man of honor, he’ll “win [her] heart, … it will not be because of any trickery.” ; he gave Henry’s parents a fair shot in The New Neverland, so seeing him turn down the wench in The Jolly Roger, falls in line perfectly with his “man of honor” good form code.

But Killian Jones isn’t the ladies man pirate anymore. He’s done with that life. So I totally agree with an earlier post, he really isn’t a pirate anymore. His ship was stolen, taken and make a bet, once he gets his ship back, he’s going to realize that his ship isn’t his home anymore, but Emma is.

ParticipantHow much do I LOVE Hook???? He doesn’t even THINK about it with the wench – just immediately sends her on her way. Keep in mind that at this point I am guessing he still believes he is never going to see Emma again. It is totally different for him this time around. He loved Milah but it is implied that after she died even though he was seeking revenge for her death and was still not “over” her he was screwing around with other women. With Emma though, even though he believes he is never going to see her again – he is remaining loyal to her because he knows that she is his True Love. That is one seriously devoted, honorable, and lovestruck pirate!!

ParticipantI agree.
I’m seeing in the chat how fans would like to see Hook be less resistant to the wench’s charms and there’s probably a bit of dialogue that’s missing from that sneak peek because there was a ‘quick’ cut’ that happened. But usually when there is a ‘quick cut’ in a sneak peek, it’s something very spoilerly. I’m not saying it involves the wench, but I think it involves Emma. Maybe Hook says that there’s a lass for him out there who he believes is his true love and even if he can’t be with her, he’s going to stay loyal to her memory. Because that’s just who he is.

ParticipantYes, I’m sure the folks in the chat are right. What they cut out was the part where Hook and the wench are heavily making out/having the EF version of tavern alley phone sex before Hook decides to walk back into the tavern, go get some money, and come back out to repay her for “partial” services. Because that’s the kind prime time family show OUaT is.

And exactly where do they think he would have wanted to leave to, to go get the money? Unless he would’ve immediately clocked somebody for it, he would have had it on him. It’s not like he would have dashed out to make a bank withdrawal, or run out to his car to unlock his glove box. LOL! 😀

KeymasterMOD NOTE
I’m seeing a lot of “spoiler tags aren’t working” from a few people. I’m looking into it, but they appear to be working just fine. If you’re having trouble, there is a chance you’re typing it wrong.
So, refresher course:
[ spoiler ] TEXT HERE [ / spoiler]
NO SPACES!
And you *must* include all parts of the code.

ParticipantI’ve seen people posting about how the show is no longer about hope and happy endings and basically the rest of Neal’s family should end up dying because they can’t have their happy ending with Neal gone and I just wanted to vent.
It’s depressing to read how all the other characters should die horribly and not get their happy endings, just because Neal is dead. The show doesn’t revolve around Neal. Yes it was a shame Neal died and in the way he did, and it would be fair to say that nobody wanted Neal to die, because he did deserve his happy ending, but I disagree with saying that the show is no longer about hope and happy endings.
To me, SwanFire were a “real” fairytale. They weren’t about slaying dragons, recuing princesses, or going on quests. They were about 2 people in the real world, finding each other despite the odds and loving each other. They’ve had to go through crap, childhood abandonment, breaking up, separated parents to Henry. Whilst Snowing and RumBelle deal with the more fantastical issues, curses, witches, etc, SwanFire always dealt with the more “real world” issues.
Unfortunately, a real world issue is death of a loved one. How many children have to go through the death of their parent? How many parents have to go through the death of their child? How many people have to go through the death of their partner or death of their friend? If a family has a member in the armed forces, then that is a very real possibility for them. They may not see their loved one again.
To say that, just because of the death of that person, that family is destined to never ever feel happiness again and the rest of their lives they’re screwed to misery is an absolutely horrible and depressing message to give out.
Once is still about hope and happy endings, not in the idealized terms that everyone gets a happy ending, but in the real terms that despite all the tragedy and heartbreak that befalls these characters, they can still pull through, it does get better for them, they can move on without forgetting what they lost.
All magic comes with a price!
