This scene is likely the first time Emma & Hook have seen each other since their doorway conversation at Granny’s. When Hook told Emma why it’s not a good idea to take Henry away from his family after spending the night with him. When they parted – walls up. But it had to be said, so Hook said it. Because telling Emma the truth is more important than staying in her good graces.Now, the sneak peek scene. What do Emma and Hook do after they’ve challenged each other? Go back to their comfort zone – honesty, followed by a healthy dose of flirt and snark. Ex: the scene outside Z’s farmhouse – honesty, then snark. So that’s why Hook starts with a cheesy flirtatious line. Because it’s their comfort zone. As is Emma’s response. It allows them to acknowledge that after their tense conversation the night before, they’re still good. And that’s why Emma feels ok leaving Henry with Hook, and why Hook feels he can again speak to Emma openly and honestly about her magic. It’s not really Hook ‘coming on’ to Emma – I mean, obviously she’s not there, with the kid, to…finally give in to his charms. It’s their way of saying “Are we good?” “Yeah, we’re good.”
This episode is shaping up to be a major character definer for Hook. It has been developing inch by inch and layer by layer. This is not some dreamed up tale of the AU of wishful thinking fandom. There is no *pandering*. There is a story on film, being played out. Romantic online notions, sensual fan fic and very creative graphics/videos aside…
Hook is alive. Emma is alive. He fought holy whatever to get to her. She trusted him enough to take that *serious* leap of faith and restore her memory….AND be caretaker of her beloved son. They have been put together by the story time and time again. The dialogue supports it, the action supports it, the filming angles even support it!!
Yet the denial can be coldly mean spirited and get thick and heavy, weighing down, in some instances, other’s attempts to enjoy the show as it is unfolding. We won’t know the “end game” until the end. But the proving ground consistently showcases an intense relationship developing between Hook and Emma.
I am thrilled.

I agree bo. Some of the lines the writers have chosen to give Hook (even last year) OMG, he is rivaling Charming in the romantic lead department.
My secret is, I never thought I’d be capable of letting go of my first love… of my Milah… to believe that I could find someone else that is, until I met you.

Haters can deny all they want but if it’s still the villain, the writers would not seriously even consider giving Hook romantic lines like these. Not to mention, of the above, two of them had the CS theme played in the background which just screams, EPIC romantic connection.
And then, there’s the fact that Hook looks like this for the finale? He looks like Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice (2005).. I seriously smile like crazy whenever he says something epically romantic, and there’s extra feels whenever their theme is played.
Their theme alone, it screams hope, romance, hope for second chances, everything beautiful we can possibly imagine for our lovely ‘ship. It is perfect and I seriously have every short and long version of it on my iTunes and cannot wait for Mark Isham to officially announce the third volume of the soundtrack.
