@Jenna_B You nailed the issue the issue of people not understanding body language, subtext, etc. I have never understood when people have said that Emma has never shown any interest in Hook because of the things she has SAID. Did none of these people ever do the exercise in school where the teacher had everyone say something like “excuse me” but she gave them different emotions with which to say it? Showing that words alone don’t convey what someone is feeling. Ever watched people on dates in a restaurant? My husband and I do this ALL THE TIME. You can’t hear their conversation so you can only go by body language but you can typically figure out on body alone: the first date, match.com date, married couple who is happily married and comfortable who hardly speaks, married couple on the brink of divorce of hardly speaks, dating couple who are heading toward marriage, etc. It’s a fun game to play. When I hear people say in the chat that Emma has never shown any interest it always makes me think of Temperance Brennan from “Bones” who takes everything so incredibly literally that it is almost ridiculous.
@Obisgirl Also perfect example with Buffy. I was a Buffy and Angel shipper and was so sad when they broke up. For while it completely changed the tone of the show for me but then I found that I really liked her with Spike and I got right back into the show all over again because I found their bantering back and forth so cute. But I never bashed the show, I just accepted that was what happened even if it wasn’t my personal choice.Actually, I was not a Spuffy ‘shipper but I do appreciate now everything Spike has gone through for Buffy, and Angel has more personality away from her.
As for Emma’s interest, yes, she doesn’t vocalize it but seriously body language says more than dialogue. Take Emma’s eyelashes. Anytime Hook does something surprising or impresses Emma, her eyelashes flutter. It happens every time. I don’t think we’ve seen her do that with anyone else. And the way she leans in her body towards him instead of away, I mean, if the lack of personal space between them bothered Emma, she would say it does and Hook would step back.
But she doesn’t. She likes having him close and I don’t think she minds the attention either.

@rumplegoldfan… yes. Very true. You can tell so much from body language. I have always been able to ID a person from really far off – and not because of good eye sight. You dont need to see coloring and features – people move differently. Stride, posture etc… and you are so right, you can tell what’s the ‘mood’ of the conversation is by watching the interaction.Those two are ALWAYS in each others personal bubble … i’m sure we have all had those people who have no concept of personal space… there is no way that Emma could ( not even would – she seriously could not allow someone in her space that she did not trust ). lol – CS is so close sometimes they can both get into Hook’s coat.

Okay, here’s some of what JMo said:
- Neal having died has changed things and him giving Emma permission to find Tallahassee with someone else and maybe find her happiness with someone else has changed things too.
- Hook will definitely be instrumental in helping Emma face the Wicked Witch, and helping Emma accept parts of herself – accept the magic that she has, and using it in the ways that she needs to to protect everyone. But he’s definitely becoming a part of her life in the sense that he’s helping her accept parts of herself that she has never accepted before.
- Hook and Emma will continue to grow closer as this season continues
